Infinite dimensional dynamical maps
Abstract: Completely positive trace preserving maps are widely used in quantum information theory. These are mostly studied using the master equation perspective. A central part in this theory is to study whether a given system of dynamical maps $\{Λ_t: t \ge 0\}$ is Markovian or non-Markovian. We study the problem when the underlying Hilbert space is of infinite dimensional. We construct a sufficient condi… ▽ More

Free resolutions for free unitary quantum groups and universal cosovereign Hopf algebras
Abstract: We find a finite free resolution of the counit of the free unitary quantum groups of van Daele and Wang and, more generally, Bichon's universal cosovereign Hopf algebras with a generic parameter matrix. This allows us to compute Hochschild cohomology with 1-dimensional coefficients for all these Hopf algebras. In fact, the resolutions can be endowed with a Yetter-Drinfeld structure. Error Basis and Quantum Channel
Abstract: The Weyl operators give a convenient basis of $M_n(\mathbb{C})$ which is also orthonormal with respect to the Hilbert-Schmidt inner product. The properties of such a basis can be generalised to the notion of a nice error basis(NEB), as introduced by E. Knill. We can use an NEB of $M_n(\mathbb{C})$ to construct an NEB for $Lin(M_n(\mathbb{C}))$, the space of linear maps on $M_n(\mathbb{C})$. Any li… ▽ More

Markov property of monotone Lévy processes
Abstract: Monotone Lévy processes with additive increments are defined and studied. It is shown that these processes have a natural Markov structure and their Markov transition semigroups are characterized using the monotone Lévy-Khintchine formula. Monotone Lévy processes turn out to be related to classical Lévy processes via Attal's ``remarkable transformation.'' A monotone analogue of the family of exp… ▽ More

KMS States on the Square of White Noise Algebra
Abstract: It was shown in [AFS00] that there are only three types of irreducible unitary representations theta of sl_2. Using the Schurmann triple one can associate with each theta a number of representations of the square of white noise (SWN) algebra A. However, in analogy with the Boson, Fermion and q-deformed case, we expect that some interesting non irreducible representations of sl_2 may result in GN… ▽ More

What is Stochastic Independence?
Abstract: The notion of a tensor product with projections or with inclusions is defined. It is shown that the definition of stochastic independence relies on such a structure and that independence can be defined in an arbitrary category with a tensor product with inclusions or projections. In this context, the classifications of quantum stochastic independence by Muraki, Ben Ghorbal, and Schürmann become… ▽ More

Free Lévy Processes on Dual Groups
Abstract: We give a short introduction to the theory of Lévy processes on dual groups. As examples we consider Lévy processes with additive increments and Lévy processes on the dual affine group.

Limit theorems for the hierarchy of freeness
Abstract: The central limit theorem, the invariance principle and the Poisson limit theorem for the hierarchy of freeness are studied. We show that for given natural m the limit laws can be expressed in terms of non-crossing partitions of depth smaller or equal to m. For the algebra of polynomials in one variable we solve the associated moment problems and find explicitly the discrete limit measures.

Malliavin Calculus and Skorohod Integration for Quantum Stochastic Processes
Abstract: A derivation operator and a divergence operator are defined on the algebra of bounded operators on the symmetric Fock space over the complexification of a real Hilbert space $\eufrak{h}$ and it is shown that they satisfy similar properties as the derivation and divergence operator on the Wiener space over $\eufrak{h}$. The derivation operator is then used to give sufficient conditions for the ex… ▽ More

Lévy Processes on $U_q(g)$ as Infinitely Divisible Representations
Abstract: Lévy processes on bialgebras are families of infinitely divisible representations. We classify the generators of Lévy processes on the compact forms of the quantum algebras $U_q(g)$, where $g$ is a simple Lie algebra. Then we show how the processes themselves can be reconstructed from their generators and study several classical stochastic processes that can be associated to these processes.
