The Geometry of Three-Forms on Symplectic Six-Manifolds
Abstract: In this paper, we investigate the geometries associated with 3-forms of various orbital types on a symplectic 6-manifold. We show that there are extremely rich geometric structures attached to certain unstable 3-forms arising naturally from degeneration of Calabi-Yau structures, which in turn provides us a new perspective towards the SYZ conjecture. We give concrete examples and demonstrate that t… ▽ More

Image Reconstruction from Electroencephalography Using Latent Diffusion
Abstract: In this work, we have adopted the diffusion-based image reconstruction pipeline previously used for fMRI image reconstruction and applied it to Electroencephalography (EEG). The EEG encoding method is very simple, and forms a baseline from which more sophisticated EEG encoding methods can be compared. We have also evaluated the fidelity of the generated image using the same metrics used in the pre… ▽ More

Adaptive Decision-Objective Loss for Forecast-then-Optimize in Power Systems
Abstract: Forecast-then-optimize is a widely-used framework for decision-making problems in power systems. Traditionally, statistical losses have been employed to train forecasting models, but recent research demonstrated that improved decision utility in downstream optimization tasks can be achieved by using decision loss as an alternative. However, the implementation of decision loss in power systems face… ▽ More

Remarks on Generalized Calabi-Gray Manifolds
Abstract: Generalized Calabi-Gray manifolds are non-Kähler complex manifolds with very explicit geometry yet not being homogeneous. In this note, we demonstrate that how generalized Calabi-Gray manifolds can be used to answer some questions in non-Kähler geometry.

STICC: A multivariate spatial clustering method for repeated geographic pattern discovery with consideration of spatial contiguity
Abstract: Spatial clustering has been widely used for spatial data mining and knowledge discovery. An ideal multivariate spatial clustering should consider both spatial contiguity and aspatial attributes. Existing spatial clustering approaches may face challenges for discovering repeated geographic patterns with spatial contiguity maintained. In this paper, we propose a Spatial Toeplitz Inverse Covariance-B… ▽ More

Latent Class Analysis with Semi-parametric Proportional Hazards Submodel for Time-to-event Data
Abstract: Latent class analysis (LCA) is a useful tool to investigate the heterogeneity of a disease population with time-to-event data. We propose a new method based on non-parametric maximum likelihood estimator (NPMLE), which facilitates theoretically validated inference procedure for covariate effects and cumulative hazard functions. We assess the proposed method via extensive simulation studies and dem… ▽ More

Stability of the Type IIA flow and its applications in symplectic geometry
Abstract: In this paper the dynamical stability of the Type IIA flow with no source near its stationary points is established. These stationary points had been shown previously by the authors to be Ricci-flat Kähler metrics on Calabi-Yau 3-folds. The dynamical stability of the Type IIA flow is then applied to prove the stability under symplectic deformations of the Kähler property for Calabi-Yau 3-folds.

Symplectic geometric flows
Abstract: Several geometric flows on symplectic manifolds are introduced which are potentially of interest in symplectic geometry and topology. They are motivated by the Type IIA flow and T-duality between flows in symplectic geometry and flows in complex geometry. Examples include the Hitchin gradient flow on symplectic manifolds, and a new flow which is called the dual Ricci flow.

Emotion and color in paintings: a novel temporal and spatial quantitative perspective
Abstract: As subjective artistic creations, artistic paintings carry emotion of their creators. Emotions expressed in paintings and emotion aroused in spectators by paintings are two kinds of emotions that scholars have paid attention to. War** of Radar Data into Camera Image for Cross-Modal Supervision in Automotive Applications
Abstract: We present an approach to automatically generate semantic labels for real recordings of automotive range-Doppler (RD) radar spectra. The automatic labeling approach rests on the simultaneous recording of camera and lidar data in addition to the radar spectrum. By war** radar spectra into the camera im… ▽ More

Geometric Flows for the Type IIA String
Abstract: A geometric flow on $6$-dimensional symplectic manifolds is introduced which is motivated by supersymmetric compactifications of the Type IIA string. The underlying structure turns out to be SU(3) holonomy, but with respect to the projected Levi-Civita connection of an almost-Hermitian structure. Estimates for a geometric flow for the Type IIB string
Abstract: It is shown that bounds of all orders of derivative would follow from uniform bounds for the metric and the torsion 1-form, for a flow in non-Kähler geometry which can be interpreted as either a flow for the Type IIB string or the Anomaly flow with source term and zero slope parameter. A key ingredient in the proof is a formulation of this flow unifying it with the Ricci flow, which was recently f… ▽ More

Abstract: A one-parameter family of coupled flows depending on a parameter $κ>0$ is introduced which reduces when $κ=1$ to the coupled flow of a metric $ω$ with a $(1,1)$-form $α$ due recently to Y.
