In a recent paper of the authors together with A. In a recent paper of the authors together with A. Aleman, it is shown that the Bloch space $\mathcal{B}$ in the unit disc has the following radicality property: if an analytic function $g$ satisfies that $g^n\in \mathcal{B}$, then $g^m\in \mathcal{B}$, for all $m\le n$. Since $\mathcal{B}$ coincides with the space $\mathcal{T}(A^p_α)$ of analytic symbols $g$ such that the Volterra-type operator $T_gf(z)= \int_0^z f(ζ)g'(ζ)\,dζ$ is bounded on the classical weighted Bergman space $A^p_α$, the radicality property was used to study the composition of paraproducts $T_g$ and $S_gf=T_fg$ on $A^p_α$. Motivated by this fact, we prove that $\mathcal{T}(A^p_ω)$ also has the radicality property, for any radial weight $ω$. Unlike the classical case, the lack of a precise description of $\mathcal{T}(A^p_ω)$ for a general radial weight, induces us to prove the radicality property for $A^p_ω$ from precise norm-operator results for compositions of analytic paraproducts.

For a fixed analytic function g on the unit disc, we consider the analytic paraproducts induced by g, which are formally defined by $T_gf(z)=\int_0^zf(ζ)g'(ζ)dζ$, $S_gf(z)=\int_0^zf'(ζ)g(ζ)dζ$, and $M_gf(z)=g(z)f(z)$. We are concerned with the study of the boundedness of operators in the algebra $\mathcal{A}_g$ generated by the above operators acting on Hardy, or standard weighted Bergman spaces on the disc. The general question is certainly very challenging, since operators in $\mathcal{A}_g$ are finite linear combinations of finite products (words) of $T_g,S_g,M_g$ which may involve a large amount of cancellations to be understood. The results in the paper "Composition of analytic paraproducts, J. Math. Pures Appl. 158 (2022) 293--319" show that boundedness of operators in a fairly large subclass of $\mathcal{A}_g$ can be characterized by one of the conditions $g\in H^\infty$, or $g^n$ belongs to $BMOA$ or the Bloch space, for some integer $n>0$. However, it is also proved that there are many operators, even single words in $\mathcal{A}_g$ whose boundedness cannot be described in terms of these conditions. The present paper provides a considerable progress in this direction. Our main result provides a complete quantitative characterization of the boundedness of an arbitrary word in $\mathcal{A}_g$ in terms of a ``fractional power'' of the symbol $g$, that only depends on the number of appearances of each of the letters $T_g,S_g,M_g$ in the given word.

The Centaur (60558) Echeclus was discovered on March 03, 2000, orbiting between the orbits of Jupiter and Uranus. After exhibiting frequent outbursts, it also received a comet designation, 174P. If the ejected material can be a source of debris to form additional structures, studying the surroundings of an active body like Echeclus can provide clues about the formation scenarios of rings, jets, or dusty shells around small bodies. Stellar occultation is a handy technique for this kind of investigation, as it can, from Earth-based observations, detect small structures with low opacity around these objects. Stellar occultation by Echeclus was predicted and observed in 2019, 2020, and 2021. We obtain upper detection limits of rings with widths larger than 0.5 km and optical depth of $τ$ = 0.02. These values are smaller than those of Chariklo's main ring; in other words, a Chariklo-like ring would have been detected. The occultation observed in 2020 provided two positive chords used to derive the triaxial dimensions of Echeclus based on a 3D model and pole orientation available in the literature. We obtained $a = 37.0\pm0.6$ km, $b = 28.4 \pm 0.5$ km, and $c= 24.9 \pm 0.4$ km, resulting in an area-equivalent radius of $30.0 \pm 0.5$ km. Using the projected limb at the occultation epoch and the available absolute magnitude ($\rm{H}_{\rm{v}} = 9.971 \pm 0.031$), we calculate an albedo of $p_{\rm{v}} = 0.050 \pm 0.003$. Constraints on the object's density and internal friction are also proposed.

This work aims at constraining the size, shape, and geometric albedo of the dwarf planet candidate 2002 MS4 through the analysis of nine stellar occultation events. Using multichord detection, we also studied the object's topography by analyzing the obtained limb and the residuals between observed chords and the best-fitted ellipse. We predicted and organized the observational campaigns of nine stellar occultations by 2002 MS4 between 2019 and 2022, resulting in two single-chord events, four double-chord detections, and three events with three to up to sixty-one positive chords. Using 13 selected chords from the 8 August 2020 event, we determined the global elliptical limb of 2002 MS4. The best-fitted ellipse, combined with the object's rotational information from the literature, constrains the object's size, shape, and albedo. Additionally, we developed a new method to characterize topography features on the object's limb. The global limb has a semi-major axis of 412 $\pm$ 10 km, a semi-minor axis of 385 $\pm$ 17 km, and the position angle of the minor axis is 121 $^\circ$ $\pm$ 16$^\circ$. From this instantaneous limb, we obtained 2002 MS4's geometric albedo and the projected area-equivalent diameter. Significant deviations from the fitted ellipse in the northernmost limb are detected from multiple sites highlighting three distinct topographic features: one 11 km depth depression followed by a 25$^{+4}_{-5}$ km height elevation next to a crater-like depression with an extension of 322 $\pm$ 39 km and 45.1 $\pm$ 1.5 km deep. Our results present an object that is $\approx$138 km smaller in diameter than derived from thermal data, possibly indicating the presence of a so-far unknown satellite. However, within the error bars, the geometric albedo in the V-band agrees with the results published in the literature, even with the radiometric-derived albedo.

Superchannels leverage the flexibility of elastic optical networks and pave the way to higher capacity channels in space division multiplexing (SDM) networks. A superchannel consists of subchannels to which continuous spectral grid slots are assigned. To guarantee superchannel operation, we need to account for soft failures, e.g., laser drifts causing interference between subchannels, wavelength-dependent performance variations, and filter misalignments affecting the edge subchannels. This is achieved by reserving spectral guardband between subchannels or by employing a lower modulation format. We propose a process that dynamically retunes the subchannel transmitter (TX) lasers to compensate for soft failures during operation and optimizes the total capacity or the minimum subchannel quality of transmission (QoT) performance. We use an iterative stochastic subgradient method that at each iteration probes the network and leverages monitoring information, particularly subchannels signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) values, to optimize the TX frequencies. Our results indicate that our proposed method always approaches the optima found with an exhaustive search technique, unsuitable for operating networks, irrespective of the subchannel number, modulation format, roll-off factor, filters bandwidth, and starting frequencies. Considering a four-subchannel superchannel, the proposed method achieves 2.47 dB and 3.73 dB improvements for a typical soft failure of +/- 2 GHz subchannel frequency drifts around the optimum, for the two examined objectives.

In this paper, we present a detailed study of the reach distance-layer structure of the De Bruijn and Kautz digraphs, and we apply our analysis to the performance evaluation of deflection routing in De Bruijn and Kautz networks. Concerning the distance-layer structure, we provide explicit polynomial expressions, in terms of the degree of the digraph, for the cardinalities of some relevant sets of this structure. Regarding the application to defection routing, and as a consequence of our polynomial description of the distance-layer structure, we formulate explicit rational expressions, in terms of the degree of the digraph, for some probabilities of interest in the analysis of this type of routing.
De Bruijn and Kautz digraphs are fundamental examples of digraphs on alphabet and iterated line digraphs. If the topology of the network under consideration corresponds to a digraph of this type, we can perform, in principle, a similar vertex layer description.

The boundedness of these operators on various spaces of analytic functions on $\mathbb{D}$ is well understood. The original motivation for this work is to understand the boundedness of compositions of two of these operators, for example $T_g^2, \,T_gS_g,\, M_gT_g$, etc. Our methods yield a characterization of the boundedness of a large class of operators contained in the algebra generated by these analytic paraproducts acting on the classical weighted Bergman and Hardy spaces in terms of the symbol $g$. In some cases it turns out that this property is not affected by cancellation, while in others it requires stronger and more subtle restrictions on the oscillation of the symbol $g$ than the case of a single paraproduct.

Zero forcing is an iterative coloring process on a graph that has been widely used in such different areas as the modelling of propagation phenomena in networks and the study of minimum rank problems in matrices and graphs. This paper deals with zero forcing on hypergraphs. (Representing a network by a hypergraph allows us to account for its community structure and for more general interactions between different subsets of nodes.)
We consider two natural generalizations to hypergraphs of zero forcing on graphs (one of them already known) and, for each one of these generalizations we look into two clutters that play a significant role in the forcing process: the clutter of minimal forcing sets and the one of minimal immune sets. A formulation of immune sets in terms of neighbourhoods (hence without making reference to the iterative zero forcing process) is presented, highlighting the different behaviour of the distinct forcing rules. Moreover, we obtain the families of minimal forcing and minimal immune sets in the case of complete hypergraphs and we provide a full characterization of forcing and immune uniform clutters, both in the graph and in the hypergraph case.

The dense stellar background will lead to an increase in the number of occultations, while the Gaia DR2 catalogue will reduce the prediction uncertainties for the shadow path.
Aims. We observed a stellar occultation by the Galilean moon Europa (J2) and propose a campaign for observing stellar occultations for all Galilean moons.
Methods. During a predicted period of time, we measured the light flux of the occulted star and the object to determine the time when the flux dropped with respect to one or more reference stars, and the time that it rose again for each observational station. The chords obtained from these observations allowed us to determine apparent sizes, oblatness, and positions with kilometre accuracy.
Results. We present results obtained from the first stellar occultation by the Galilean moon Europa observed on 2017 March 31. The apparent fitted ellipse presents an equivalent radius of 1561.2 $\pm$ 3.6 km and oblatenesses 0.0010 $\pm$ 0.0028. A very precise Europa position was determined with an uncertainty of 0.8 mas. We also present prospects for a campaign to observe the future events that will occur between 2019 and 2021 for all Galilean moons.
Conclusions. Stellar occultation is a suitable technique for obtaining physical parameters and highly accurate positions of bright satellites close to their primary. A number of successful events can render the 3D shapes of the Galilean moons with high accuracy. We encourage the observational community (amateurs included) to observe the future predicted events.

As it is well known, the spectrum $ {\rm sp\,} Γ$ (of the adjacency matrix $A$) of a graph $Γ$, with $d$ distinct eigenvalues other than its spectral radius $λ_0$, usually provides a lot of information about the structure of $G$. Moreover, from ${\rm sp\,}Γ$ we can define the so-called predistance polynomials $p_0,\ldots,p_d\in {\mathbb R}_d[x]$, with ${\rm dgr\,} p_i=i$, $i=0,\ldots,d$, which are orthogonal with respect to the scalar product $\langle f, g\rangle_Γ =\frac{1}{n}{\rm tr\,}(f(A)g(A))$ and normalized in such a way that $\|p_i\|_Γ^2=p_i(λ_0)$. They can be seen as a generalization for any graph of the distance polynomials of a distance-regular graph. Going further, we consider the preintersection numbers $ξ_{ij}^h$ for $i,j,h\in\{0,\ldots,d\}$, which generalize the intersection numbers of a distance-regular graph, and they are the Fourier coefficients of $p_ip_j$ in terms of the basis $\{p_h\}_{0\le h\le d}$. The aim of this paper is to show that, for any graph $Γ$, the information contained in its spectrum, predistance polynomials, and preintersection numbers is equivalent. Also, we give some characterizations of distance-regularity which are based on the above concepts. For instance, we comment upon the so-called spectral excess theorem stating that a connected regular graph $G$ is distance-regular if and only if its spectral excess, which is the value of $p_d$ at $λ_0$, equals the average excess, that is, the mean of the numbers of vertices at extremal distance $d$ from every vertex.

How does political discourse spread in digital networks? Can we empirically test if certain conceptual frames of social movements have a correlate on their online discussion networks? Through an analysis of the Twitter data from the Occupy movement, this paper describes the formation of political discourse over time. Building on a previous set of concepts - derived from theoretical discussions about the movement and its roots - we analyse the data to observe when those concepts start to appear within the networks, who are those Twitter users responsible for them, and what are the patterns through which those concepts spread. Preliminary evidence shows that, although there are some signs of opportunistic behaviour among activists, most of them are central nodes from the onset of the network, and shape the discussions across time. These central activists do not only start the conversations around given frames, but also sustain over time and become key members of the network. From here, we aim to provide a thorough account of the "travel" of political discourse, and the correlate of online conversational networks with theoretical accounts of the movement.

Abstract:
We study the action of some generalized integral operators of Bergman type on pointwise multipliers of holomorphic Triebel-Lizorkin spaces. We construct nontrivial examples of pointwise multipliers in Hardy-Sobolev spaces and give applications of all these results.

Abstract:
The local spectrum of a vertex set in a graph has been proven to be very useful to study some of its metric properties. It also has applications in the area of pseudo-distance-regularity around a set and can be used to obtain quasi-spectral characterizations of completely (pseudo-)regular codes. In this paper we study the relation between the local spectrum of a vertex set and the local spectrum o…

The local spectrum of a vertex set in a graph has been proven to be very useful to study some of its metric properties. It also has applications in the area of pseudo-distance-regularity around a set and can be used to obtain quasi-spectral characterizations of completely (pseudo-)regular codes. In this paper we study the relation between the local spectrum of a vertex set and the local spectrum of each of its subconstituents. Moreover, we obtain a new characterization for completely pseudo-regular codes, and consequently for completely regular codes, in terms of the relation between the local spectrum of an extremal set of vertices and the local spectrum of its antipodal set. We also present a new proof of the version of the Spectral Excess Theorem for extremal sets of vertices.

Three Degrees of Distance on Twitter
Authors:

Abstract:
Recent work has found that the propagation of behaviors and sentiments through networks extends in ranges up to 2 to 4 degrees of distance. The regularity with which the same observation is found in dissimilar phenomena has been associated with friction in the propagation process and the instability of link structure that emerges in the dynamic of social networks. We study a contagious behavior, t…

The regularity with which the same observation is found in dissimilar phenomena has been associated with friction in the propagation process and the instability of link structure that emerges in the dynamic of social networks. We study a contagious behavior, the practice of retweeting, in a setting where neither of those restrictions is present and still found the same result.

Abstract:
For weighted Toeplitz operators $\T^N_φ$ defined on spaces of holomorphic functions in the unit ball, we derive regularity properties of the solutions $f$ to the integral equation $\T^N_φ(f)=h$ in terms of the regularity of the symbol $φ$ and the data $h$. As an application, we deduce that if $f\not\equiv0$ is a function in the Hardy space $H^1$ such that its argument $\bar f/f$ is in a Lipschitz…

As an application, we deduce that if $f\not\equiv0$ is a function in the Hardy space $H^1$ such that its argument $\bar f/f$ is in a Lipschitz space on the unit sphere $\bB$, then $f$ is also in the same Lipschitz space, extending a result of K. Dyakonov to several complex variables.

Abstract:
The main goal of this paper is to give an unified proof of the corona problem on weighted Hardy spaces and on Morrey spaces. We use a technique that allows to reduce the problem to the Hardy spaces $H^2(θ)$
