Who wrote this book? A challenge for e-commerce
Abstract: Modern e-commerce catalogs contain millions of references, associated with textual and visual information that is of paramount importance for the products to be found via search or browsing. Of particular significance is the book category, where the author name(s) field poses a significant challenge. Indeed, books written by a given author (such as F. Scott Fitzgerald) might be listed with differe… ▽ More

Robustness of Rotation-Equivariant Networks to Adversarial Perturbations
Abstract: Deep neural networks have been shown to be vulnerable to adversarial examples: very small perturbations of the input having a dramatic impact on the predictions. A wealth of adversarial attacks and distance metrics to quantify the similarity between natural and adversarial images have been proposed, recently enlarging the scope of adversarial examples with geometric transformations beyond pixel-wi… ▽ More

LHC constraints and prospects for $S_1$ scalar leptoquark explaining the $\bar B \to D^{(*)} τ\barν$ anomaly
Abstract: Recently, deviations in flavor observables of B -> D(*) tau nu have been shown between the predictions in the Standard Model and the experimental results reported by BaBar, Belle, and LHCb collaborations. One of the solutions to this anomaly is obtained in a class of leptoquark model with a scalar leptoquark boson S_1, which is a SU(3)_c triplet and SU(2)_L singlet particle with -1/3 hypercharge i… ▽ More

From Higgs measurements to constraints on new physics with Lilith
Abstract: The properties of the observed Higgs boson with mass around 125 GeV are constrained by a wealth of experimental results targeting different combinations for the production and decay of a Higgs boson. In order to assess the compatibility of a non-Standard Model-like Higgs boson with all available results, we present Lilith, a new public tool that makes use of signal strength measurements performed… ▽ More

Dilepton constraints in the Inert Doublet Model from Run 1 of the LHC
Abstract: Searches in final states with two leptons plus missing transverse energy, targeting supersymmetric particles or invisible decays of the Higgs boson, were performed during Run 1 of the LHC. Recasting the results of these analyses in the context of the Inert Doublet Model (IDM) using MadAnalysis 5, we show that they provide constraints on inert scalars that significantly extend previous limits from… ▽ More

Lilith: a tool for constraining new physics from Higgs measurements
Abstract: The properties of the observed Higgs boson with mass around 125 GeV can be affected in a variety of ways by new physics beyond the Standard Model (SM). The wealth of experimental results, targeting the different combinations for the production and decay of a Higgs boson, makes it a non-trivial task to assess the compatibility of a non-SM-like Higgs boson with all available results. Higgs, supersymmetry and dark matter after Run I of the LHC
Abstract: Two major problems call for an extension of the Standard Model (SM): the hierarchy problem in the Higgs sector and the dark matter in the Universe. The discovery of a Higgs boson with mass of about 125 GeV was clearly the most significant piece of news from CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC). In addition to representing the ultimate triumph of the SM, it shed new light on the hierarchy problem and… ▽ More

New features of MadAnalysis 5 for analysis design and reinterpretation
Abstract: We present MadAnalysis 5, an analysis package dedicated to phenomenological studies of simulated collisions occurring in high-energy physics experiments. Within this framework, users are invited, through a user-friendly Python interpreter, to implement physics analyses in a very simple manner. A C++ code is then automatically generated, compiled and executed. Very recently, the expert mode of the… ▽ More

Addendum to "Constraints on and future prospects for Two-Higgs-Doublet Models in light of the LHC Higgs signal"
Abstract: We update the constraints on Two-Higgs-Doublet Models of Type I and II discussed in arXiv:1405.3584 using the latest LHC measurements of the ~125.5 GeV Higgs signal as of Summer 2014. We provide explicit comparisons of the results before and after the Summer 2014 ATLAS and CMS updates. Overall, the changes with respect to arXiv:1405.3584 are rather small; to a large extent this is due to the fact… ▽ More

Higgs coupling measurements and impact on the MSSM
Abstract: Run I of the LHC has not revealed any sign of new physics beyond the Standard Model (BSM). However, the discovery of an SM-like Higgs boson with mass around 125 GeV opens up new possibilities for probing various BSM scenarios with enlarged Higgs sectors and/or new particles affecting the loop-induced processes or opening new decay modes. We will present how we derive constraints on new physics fro… ▽ More
