Perturbations of Q-balls: from spectral structure to radiation pressure
Abstract: We investigate Q-balls in a 1+1 dimensional complex scalar field theory. We find that the relaxation of a squashed Q-ball is dominated by the decay of a normal mode through nonlinear coupling to scattering modes and a long-lasting quasi-normal mode. We also study how these Q-balls behave when exposed to scalar radiation, finding that for certain conditions they can experience negative radiation pr… ▽ More

Oscillons in gapless theories
Abstract: We show that large scale oscillons, i.e., quasi-periodic, long living particle like solutions, may exist in massless theories, too. Their existence is explained using an effective (smeared) mass threshold which takes into account nonlinear (finite) perturbations.

From tree- to loop-simplicity in affine Toda theories II: higher-order poles and cut decompositions
Abstract: Recently we showed how, in two-dimensional scalar theories, one-loop threshold diagrams can be cut into the product of one or more tree-level diagrams arXiv:2206.09368. Using this method on the ADE series of Toda models, we computed the double- and single-pole coefficients of the Laurent expansion of the S-matrix around a pole of arbitrary even order, finding agreement with the bootstrapped result… ▽ More

Collisions of weakly-bound kinks in the Christ-Lee model
Abstract: We investigate soliton collisions a one-parameter family of scalar field theories in 1+1 dimensions which was first discussed by Christ and Lee. Multikink scattering in the $φ^6$ model revisited
Abstract: Antikink-kink ( $\bar{\rm K} $$ {\rm K}$) collisions in the $φ^6$ model exhibit resonant scattering although the $φ^6$ kinks do not support any bound states to which energy could be transferred. In Phys. Rev. Lett. 107 (2011) 091602 it was conjectured that, instead, energy is transferred to a collective bound mode of the full $\bar{\rm K} $$ {\rm K}$ configuration. Staccato radiation from the decay of large amplitude oscillons

Resonant kink-antikink scattering through quasinormal modes
Abstract: We investigate the role that quasinormal modes can play in kink-antikink collisions, via an example based on a perturbation of the $φ^4$ model. On the absence of reflection in AdS4/CFT3
Abstract: A noteworthy feature of the S-matrix which has been proposed for AdS4/CFT3 is that the scattering of an A-particle ("soliton") with a B-particle ("antisoliton") is reflectionless. We argue, following Zamolodchikov, that the absence of reflection is a result of the existence of certain local conserved charges which act differently on the two types of particles.

Abstract: A brief survey of recent results in the study of boundary integrable quantum field theories, indicating some currently open problems. Based on lectures given at the 2000 Eotvos Summer School in Physics on `Nonperturbative QFT methods and their applications'.

Finite size effects in perturbed boundary conformal field theories
Abstract: We discuss the finite-size properties of a simple integrable quantum field theory in 1+1 dimensions with non-trivial boundary conditions. Novel off-critical identities between cylinder partition functions of models with differing boundary conditions are derived.

Ordinary Differential Equations and Integrable Models
Abstract: We review a recently-discovered link between the functional relations approach to integrable quantum field theories and the properties of certain ordinary differential equations in the complex domain.

Boundary spectrum in the sine-Gordon model with Dirichlet boundary conditions
Abstract: We find the spectrum of boundary bound states for the sine-Gordon model with Dirichlet boundary conditions, closing the bootstrap and providing a complete description of all the poles in the boundary reflection factors. The boundary Coleman-Thun mechanism plays an important role in the analysis. Two basic lemmas are introduced which should hold for any 1+1-dimensional boundary field theory, allo… ▽ More

Differential equations for general SU(n) Bethe ansatz systems
Abstract: We show that SU(n) Bethe Ansatz equations with arbitrary `twist' parameters are hidden inside certain nth order ordinary differential equations, and discuss various consequences of this fact.
