Electrical tunability due to coalescence of exceptional points in parity-time symmetric waveguides
Abstract: We demonstrate theoretically the electric tunability due to coalescence of exceptional points in PT-symmetric waveguides bounded by imperfect conductive layers. Owing to the competition effect of multimode interaction, multiple exceptional points and PT phase transitions could be attained in such a simple system and their occurrences are strongly dependent on the boundary conductive layers. When t… ▽ More

Non-reciprocal mu-near-zero mode in PT-symmetric magnetic domains
Abstract: We find that a new type of non-reciprocal modes exist at an interface between two \emph{parity-time} ($\mathcal{PT}$) symmetric magnetic domains (MDs) near the frequency of zero effective permeability. The new mode is non-propagating and purely magnetic when the two MDs are semi-infinite while it becomes propagating in the finite case. In particular, two pronounced nonreciprocal responses could be… ▽ More

Super-resolution image transfer by a vortex-like metamaterial
Abstract: We propose a vortex-like metamaterial device that is capable of transferring image along a spiral route without losing subwavelength information of the image. The super-resolution image can be guided and magnified at the same time with one single design. Our design may provide insights in manipulating super-resolution image in a more flexible manner. Examples are given and illustrated with numeric… ▽ More

One-way Tamm plasmon-polaritons on the interface of magnetophotonic crystals and conducting metal oxides
Abstract: We demonstrate theoretically the existence of one-way Tamm plasmon-polaritons on the interface between magnetophotonic crystals and conducting metal oxides. In contrast to conventional surface plasmon-polaritons (SPPs), Tamm plasmon-polariton (TPPs) occur at frequencies above the bulk plasma frequency of the conducting materials, provided that the dispersion curves of such surface modes lie outsid… ▽ More

The beam energy measurement system for the Bei**g electron-positron collider
Abstract: The beam energy measurement system (BEMS) for the upgraded Bei**g electron-positron collider BEPC-II is described. The system is based on measuring the energies of Compton back-scattered photons. The relative systematic uncertainty of the electron and positron beam energy determination is estimated as 2 \cdot 10^{-5}. The relative uncertainty of the beam's energy spread is about 6 %.

Zeeman Splitting of Photonic Angular Momentum States in Gyromagnetic Cylinder
Abstract: We show that under the presence of a static magnetic field the photon eigen-frequencies of a circular gyromagnetic cylinder experience a splitting that is proportional to the angular momentum density of light at the cylinder surface. Such a splitting of the photonic states is similar to the Zeeman splitting of electronic states in atoms. This leads to some unusual decoupling properties of these no… ▽ More
