General relativity (GR) predicts the existence of black hole (BH). The rotating BH called as a Kerr Black hole and GR implies that there is an upper limit on the angular momentum per mass squared of black holes $\leq 1$, above which the event horizon of the Kerr BH is not exist. We find the radial equation for equatorial motion for Kerr BH in terms of the effective potential. We have shown the effective potential profile for different rotation parameter ($a$). We find the solution of the radial equation of the Kerr metric and found the expression of the angular momentum per unit mass squared, $\tilde a = \frac{a}{M}$. We showed the profile of $\tilde a$ as a function of $\frac{r}{M}$. The solution also leads the energy per unit rest mass ($e$) and we showed its behavior as a function of $\frac{r}{M}$. We enumerated the maximum values of radius of innermost stable circular orbit ($r_{ISCO}$) for $\tilde a=1$.

The devastation caused by the coronavirus pandemic makes it imperative to design automated techniques for a fast and accurate detection. We propose a novel non-invasive tool, using deep learning and imaging, for delineating COVID-19 infection in lungs. The Ensembling Attention-based Multi-scaled Convolution network (EAMC), employing Leave-One-Patient-Out (LOPO) training, exhibits high sensitivity and precision in outlining infected regions along with assessment of severity. The Attention module combines contextual with local information, at multiple scales, for accurate segmentation. Ensemble learning integrates heterogeneity of decision through different base classifiers. The superiority of EAMC, even with severe class imbalance, is established through comparison with existing state-of-the-art learning models over four publicly-available COVID-19 datasets. The results are suggestive of the relevance of deep learning in providing assistive intelligence to medical practitioners, when they are overburdened with patients as in pandemics. Its clinical significance lies in its unprecedented scope in providing low-cost decision-making for patients lacking specialized healthcare at remote locations.

We consider the link between fragility and elasticity that follows from analysis of the data for a set of soft-colloid materials consisting of deformable spheres reported by Mattsson et. al., in Nature vol 462, 83 (2009). Fragility index for a soft-colloid is obtained from the density dependence of the long time relaxation near a so-called glass transition point. In addition, we fit data for the high frequency shear modulus for the respective soft-colloid to a corresponding theoretical expression for the same modulus. This expression for the elastic constant is in terms of the corresponding pair correlation function for the liquid treated as of uniform density. The pair correlation function is adjusted through a proper choice of the parameters for the two body interaction potential for the respective soft-colloid material. The nature of correlation between the fragility and Poisson ratio observed for the soft colloids is qualitatively different, as compared to the same for molecular glasses. The observed link between fragility of a metastable liquid and its elastic coefficients is a manifestation of the effects of structure of the fluid on its dynamics.

The Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) is designed to move the field of deep inelastic scattering (DIS) to the energy and intensity frontier of particle physics. Exploiting energy recovery technology, it collides a novel, intense electron beam with a proton or ion beam from the High Luminosity--Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). The accelerator and interaction region are designed for concurrent electron-proton and proton-proton operation. This report represents an update of the Conceptual Design Report (CDR) of the LHeC, published in 2012. It comprises new results on parton structure of the proton and heavier nuclei, QCD dynamics, electroweak and top-quark physics. It is shown how the LHeC will open a new chapter of nuclear particle physics in extending the accessible kinematic range in lepton-nucleus scattering by several orders of magnitude. Due to enhanced luminosity, large energy and the cleanliness of the hadronic final states, the LHeC has a strong Higgs physics programme and its own discovery potential for new physics. Building on the 2012 CDR, the report represents a detailed updated design of the energy recovery electron linac (ERL) including new lattice, magnet, superconducting radio frequency technology and further components. Challenges of energy recovery are described and the lower energy, high current, 3-turn ERL facility, PERLE at Orsay, is presented which uses the LHeC characteristics serving as a development facility for the design and operation of the LHeC. An updated detector design is presented corresponding to the acceptance, resolution and calibration goals which arise from the Higgs and parton density function physics programmes. The paper also presents novel results on the Future Circular Collider in electron-hadron mode, FCC-eh, which utilises the same ERL technology to further extend the reach of DIS to even higher centre-of-mass energies.

We have considered constraints from Dark Matter (DM), superparticle and the Higgs boson data. In both analyses, we have carried out signal and background computations with selections optimized to the model at hand and found that in both cases it is possible to get large significances for low mass Higgs bosons.

The charged Higgs boson decays into light flavors leads to a three-jets with missing transverse energy signal with one $b$-tagged jet. Our results show that light charged Higgs bosons with mass close to, e.g., 114(121) GeV have the maximal significance of 3.2(1.8)$σ$, upon using normal cut based selections and after 1 ab$^{-1}$ of luminosity. However, we further adopt an optimization technique to enhance the latter to 4.4 (2.2)$σ$, respectively.

The generalized diffusion coefficients, dependent on the mass ratio $κ=m_2/m_1$ of the constituent particles of the mixture, are computed using a proper formulation of the self-consistent mode coupling theory(MCT). The present model for the dense mixture includes nonlocal and nonlinear effects within the adiabatic approximation of fast decay of momentum fluctuations compared to the density fluctuations. The dependence of the slow dynamics near the characteristic ergodicity-nonergodicity (ENE) transition of the MCT on $κ$ is also studied and a reentrant behavior of of $D_1$ with respect to $D_2$, in agreement with simulations is obtained.

We study the potential of the LHC accelerator, and a future 33 TeV proton collider, to observe the production of a light top squark pair in association with the lightest Higgs boson (${\tilde t}_1 {\tilde t}_1 h_1$), as predicted by the Next-to-Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (NMSSM). We scan randomly about ten million points of the NMSSM parameter space, allowing all possible decays of the lightest top squark and lightest Higgs boson, with no assumptions about their decay rates, except for known physical constraints such as perturbative bounds, Dark matter relic density consistent with recent Planck experiment measurements, Higgs mass bounds on the next to lightest Higgs boson, $h_2$, assuming it is consistent with LHC measurements for the Standard Model Higgs boson, LEP bounds for the chargino mass and Z invisible width, experimental bounds on B meson rare decays and some LHC experimental bounds on SUSY particle spectra different to the particles involved in our study. We find that for low mass top-squark, the dominating decay mode is ${\tilde t}_1 \rightarrow b \tildeχ_1^{\pm}$ with $\tildeχ_1^{\pm} \rightarrow W^{\pm} \tildeχ_1^0 $. We use three bench mark points with the highest cross sections, which naturally fall within the compressed spectra of the top squark, and make a phenomenological analysis to determine the optimal event selection that maximizes the signal significance over backgrounds. We focus on the leptonic decays of both $W$'s and the decay of lightest Higgs boson into b-quarks ($h_1 \rightarrow b \bar b$). Our results show that the high luminosity LHC will have limitations to observe the studied signal and only a proton collider with higher energy will be able to observe the SUSY scenario studied with more than three standard deviations over background.

Assuming that the intermediate Higgs boson ($h_2$) is Standard Model (SM)-like, we study the Higgs production within the framework of NMSSM. We consider the constraints from Dark-matter, Sparticle masses, and the Higgs boson data. The signal in our analysis can be classified as three jets, with electron (missing energy)coming from the neutral (charged) current interaction. We demand that the number of b-tagged jets in the central rapidity region be greater or equal to two. The remaining jet is tagged in the forward regions. With this forward jet and two $b$-tagged jets in the central region, we reconstructed three jets invariant masses. Applying some lower limits on these invariant masses turns out to be an essential criterion to enhance the signal--to--background rates, with slightly different sets of kinematical selections in the two different channels. We consider almost all reducible and irreducible SM background processes. We find that the non-SM like Higgs boson, $h_1$, would be accessible in some of the NMSSM benchmark points, at approximately 0.4$σ$ (2.5$σ$) level in the $e$+3j channel up to Higgs boson masses of 75 GeV and in the $E\!\!\!\!/_T$+3j channel could be discovered with 1.7$σ$ (2.4$σ$) level up to Higgs boson masses of 88 GeV with 100 fb$^{-1}$ of data in a simple cut-based (with optimization) selection. With ten times more data accumulation at the end of the LHeC run and using optimization, one can have 5$σ$ discovery in the electron (missing energy) channel up to 85 (more than 90) GeV.

Using the density functional theory (DFT) of classical liquids, the configurational entropy ${\cal S}_c$ is obtained for low degree of supercooling. We extrapolate this data to estimate the Kauzmann temperature $T_\mathrm{K}$ for the liquid. Using the Adam-Gibbs relation, we link the configurational entropy ${\cal S}_c$ to the relaxation time. The relaxation times are obtained from direct solutions of the equations of fluctuating nonlinear hydrodynamics (FNH). These equations also form the basis of the mode coupling theory (MCT) for glassy dynamics. The fragility index for the supercooled liquid is estimated from analysis of the curves on the Angell plot.

We compare predictions from two familiar models of the metastable supercooled liquid respectively constructed with thermodynamic and dynamic approach. In the so called density functional theory (DFT) the free energy $F[ρ]$ of the liquid is a functional of the inhomogeneous density $ρ({\bf r})$. The metastable state is identified as a local minimum of $F[ρ]$. The sharp density profile characterizing $ρ({\bf r})$ is identified as a single particle oscillator, whose frequency is obtained from the parameters of the optimum density function. On the other hand, a dynamic approach to supercooled liquids is taken in the mode coupling theory (MCT) which predict a sharp ergodicity-nonergodicity transition at a critical density. The single particle dynamics in the non-ergodic state, treated approximately, represents a propagating mode whose characteristic frequency is computed from the corresponding memory function of the MCT. The mass localization parameters in the above two models (treated in their simplest forms) are obtained respectively in terms of the corresponding natural frequencies depicted and are shown to have comparable magnitudes.

A model for the slow dynamics of the supercooled liquid is formulated in terms of the standard equations of fluctuating nonlinear hydrodynamics (FNH) with the inclusion of an extra diffusive mode for the collective density fluctuations. If the compressible nature of the liquid is completely ignored, this diffusive mode sets the longest relaxation times in the supercooled state and smooths off a possible sharp ergodicity-nonergodicity (ENE) transition predicted in a mode coupling theory. The scenario changes when the complete dynamics is considered with the inclusion of $1/ρ$ nonlinearities in the FNH equations, reflecting the compressible nature of the liquid. The latter primarily determines the extent of slowing down in the supercooled liquid. The presence of slow diffusive modes in the supercooled liquid do not give rise to very long relaxation times unless the role of couplings between density and currents in the compressible liquid is negligible.

The equations of fluctuating nonlinear hydrodynamics for a two component mixture are obtained with a proper choice of slow variables which correspond to the conservation laws in the system. Using these nonlinear equations we construct the basic equations of the mode coupling theory (MCT) and consequent ergodic-nonergodic (ENE) transition in a binary mixture. The model is also analyzed in the one component limit of the mixture to study the dynamics of a tagged particle in the sea of identical particles. According to the existing MCT, dynamics of the single particle correlation is slaved to that of the collective density fluctuations and hence both correlations freeze simultaneously at the ENE transition. We show here from a non-perturbative approach that at the ENE transition, characterized by the freezing of the long time limit of the dynamic correlation of collective density fluctuations to a nonzero value, the tagged particle correlation still decays to zero. Our result implies that the point at which simulation or experimental data of self diffusion constant extrapolate to zero would not correspond to the ENE transition of simple MCT.

We consider theoretically consistent scenarios in agreement with current experimental data from flavor and Higgs physics. We investigate the charged current production process $ν_e φq$ in presence of flavor violating decays of the Higgs bosons, that lead to a 3-jets + $E\!\!\!\!/_T$ signature. We demand exactly two jets, one tagged $b$-jet and one light-flavor jet, all in the central rapidity region. The remaining jet (originated by the remanent quark $q$) is tagged in the forward or backward regions and this together with a central jet veto (not more than one light-flavor jet) are essential criterions to enhance the signal--to--background rates. We consider the most relevant Standard Model (SM) backgrounds, treating $c$-jets separately from light-flavor and gluon ones, while allowing for mis-tagging. We find that the SM-like Higgs boson, $h$, would be accessible within several parameter configurations of our model at approximately the 1-2$σ$ level with 100 fb$^{-1}$ of data. We also find that the heaviest neutral Higgs boson, $H$, with mass up to 150 GeV, would have a 1$σ$ significance for the same data sample. At the end of the LHeC running, one would have ten times data accumulation and for all the Higgs masses the significances are enhanced so as to allow for detection of both the $h$ and $H$ state. Hence, one of the most viable extensions of 2HDMs with FCNC's generated at tree level but controlled by a four-zero texture approach in the Yukawa matrices, as opposed to the adoption of ad hoc discrete symmetries, could be put under scrutiny at a future LHeC.

We investigate these signals along with the standard model background for both 8 and 13 TeV LHC runs.

In this paper we study the four point correlation function $χ_4$ of collective density fluctuations in a nonequilibrium liquid. The equilibration is controlled by a modified stretched exponential behavior ( $\exp [-{(t_\mathrm{w}/τ)}^β]$ ) having the relaxation time $τ$ dependent on the aging time $t_\mathrm{w}$. Similar aging behavior has been seen experimentally in supercooled liquids. The basic equations of fluctuating nonlinear hydrodynamics (FNH) are solved here numerically to obtain $χ_4$ for equilibrium and non equilibrium states. We also identify a dynamic length scale $ξ$ from the equilibrated function. $ξ(T)$ grows with fall of temperature $T$. From a broader perspective, we demonstrate here that the characteristic signatures of dynamical heterogeneities in a supercooled liquid, observed previously in computer simulations of the dynamics of a small number of particles, are also present in the coarse grained equations of generalized hydrodynamics.

We consider the signatures that have two electrons/muons and jets. Tagging of a tau jet and a bottom jet can help reduce the backgrounds significantly. In particular, we examine the usefulness of the signatures "isolated 2 electrons/muons + a bottom jet + a tau jet", "isolated 2 electrons/muons + 2 tau jets", "isolated 2 electrons/muons + 2 bottom jets + a tau jet", and "isolated 2 electrons/muons + a bottom jet + 2 tau jets". We find that signatures with two tau jets are useful. The signatures with one tau jet are also useful, if we restrict to same-sign electrons/muons. These requirements reduce the backgrounds due the process with Z-bosons + jets and the production of a pair of top quarks. We show that these signatures may be visible in the run II of the Large Hadron Collider.

This process can give rise to many signatures of the Higgs boson. These signatures can have electrons, muons, tau jets, bottom jets and/or light flavour jets. We analyze the viability of some of these signatures. We will look at those signatures where the background is minimal. In particular, we explore the viability of the signatures "isolated 4 electron/muon" and "isolated 3 electron/muon + a jet" The jet can be due to a light flavour quark/gluon, a bottom quark, or a tau lepton. Of all these signatures, we find that "isolated 3 electron/muon + a tau jet", with an extra bottom jet, can be an excellent signature of this mode of the Higgs boson production. We show that this signature may be visible within a year, once the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) restarts. Some of the other signatures would also be observable after the LHC accumulates sufficient luminosity.

The localization length $\ell$ is identified from the width of the gaussian density profile in terms of which the inhomogeneous density n(x) of the solid is expressed in DFT. At a fixed average density, there exists a limiting value $\ell_0$ of $\ell$ signifying a minimum mass localization in the amorphous state. For more delocalized states ($\ell>\ell_0$) occurrence of boson peak is unfeasible.

Equations of motion for the microscopic number density $\hatρ({\bf x},t)$ and the momentum density $\hat{\bf g}({\bf x},t)$ of a fluid have been obtained in the past from the corresponding Langevin equations representing the dynamics of the fluid particles. In the present work we average these exact equations of microscopic dynamics over the local equilibrium distribution to obtain stochastic partial differential equations for the coarse grained densities with smooth spatial and temporal dependence. In particular, we consider Dean's exact balance equation for the microscopic density of a system of interacting Brownian particles to obtain the basic equation of the dynamic density functional theory. In the thermally averaged equation for the coarse grained density $ρ({\bf x},t)$, the related dependence on the bare interaction potential in Dean's equation is converted to that on the corresponding direct correlation functions of the density functional theory.

In a recent work we have discussed how kinetic theory, the statistics of classical particles obeying Newtonian dynamics, can be formulated as a field theory. The field theory can be organized to produce a self-consistent perturbation theory expansion in an effective interaction potential. In the present work we use this development for investigating ergodic-nonergodic (ENE) transitions in dense fluids. The theory is developed in terms of a core problem spanned by the variables $ρ$, the number density, and $B$, a response density. We set up the perturbation theory expansion for studying the self-consistent model which gives rise to a ENE transition. Our main result is that the low-frequency dynamics near the ENE transition is the same for Smoluchowski and Newtonian dynamics. This is true despite the fact that term by term in a density expansion the results for the two dynamics are fundamentally different.

We show how kinetic theory, the statistics of classical particles obeying Newtonian dynamics, can be formulated as a field theory. The field theory can be organized to produce a self-consistent perturbation theory expansion in an effective interaction potential. The need for a self-consistent approach is suggested by our interest in investigating ergodic-nonergodic transitions in dense fluids. The formal structure we develop has been implemented in detail for the simpler case of Smoluchowski dynamics. One aspect of the approach is the identification of a core problem spanned by the variables ρthe number density and B a response density. In this paper we set up the perturbation theory expansion with explicit development at zeroth and first order. We also determine all of the cumulants in the noninteracting limit among the core variables ρand B.

We consider the lepton+ 4-jets+ $\met$ channel from associate $W h_2$ production, with $W h_2 \ra W h_1 h_1 \ra \ell ν_\ell b \bar b b\bar b$. We require two, three or four tagged $b$-jets. We explicitly consider all relevant Standard Model backgrounds, treating $c$-jets separately from light flavor and gluon jets and allowing for mistagging. We find that it is very hard to observe this signature at the Tevatron, even with 20 fb$^{-1}$ of data, in the LEP--allowed region of parameter space due to the small signal efficiency, even though the background is manageable. At the LHC, a priori huge SM backgrounds can be suppressed by applying judiciously chosen kinematical selections. After all cuts, we are left with a signal cross section of around 0.5 fb, and a signal to background ratio between 1.2 and 2.9. According to our analysis this Higgs signal should be viable at the LHC in the vicinity of present LEP exclusion once 20 to 50 fb$^{-1}$ of data have been accumulated at $\sqrt{s}=14$ TeV.

First, are presented various tools developed to measure new particle masses in scenarios where all decays include an unobservable particle. Second, various aspects of supersymmetric models are discussed. Third, some signatures of models of strong electroweak symmetry are discussed. In the fourth part, a special attention is devoted to high mass resonances, as the ones appearing in models with warped extra dimensions. Finally, prospects for models with a hidden sector/valley are presented. Our report, which includes brief experimental and theoretical reviews as well as original results, summarizes the activities of the "New Physics" working group for the "Physics at TeV Colliders" workshop (Les Houches, France, 8-26 June, 2009).

We demonstrate numerically that the 1/rho nonlinearity in the NFH equations of motion is essential in restoring the ergodic behavior in the liquid. Under nonequilibrium conditions the time correlation functions relax in a manner similar to that observed in the molecular dynamics simulations in binary mixtures. The waiting time t_w dependence of the non-equilibrium response function follows a Modified Kohlrausch-Williams-Watts(MKWW) form similar to the behavior seen in dielectric relaxation data.

The aging time dependence of the relaxation time is defined by these authors through a functional relation involving the corresponding frequency but the stretching exponent is same as the alpha-relaxation stretching exponent. We present here an alternative functional form directly involving the relaxation time itself. The proposed model fits the data of Lunkenheimer et. al. perfectly with a stretching exponent different from the alpha-relaxation stretching exponent.

The estimation of the backgrounds for gluino signals in focus point supersymmetry is extended by including the backgrounds from the production of four third generation quarks in the analysis. We find that these backgrounds are negligible if one uses the strong selection criteria proposed in the literature (including this analysis) for heavy gluino searches. Softer selection criteria often recommended for lighter gluino searches yield backgrounds which are small but numerically significant. We have also repeated the more conventional background calculations and compared our results with the other groups. We find that the size of the total residual background estimated by different groups using different event generators and hard kinematical cuts agree approximately. In view of the theoretical uncertainties in the leading order signal and background cross sections mainly due to the choice of the QCD scale, the gluino mass reach at the LHC cannot be pinpointed. However, requiring a signal with $\rm\geq 3$ tagged b-jets (instead of the standard choice of $\rm\geq 2$) it is shown that gluino masses close to 2 TeV can be probed at the LHC for a range of reasonable choices of the QCD scale for an integrated luminosity of 300 fb$^{-1}$.

We reinvestigated the parameter space allowing a large BR of the 4-body decay of the lighter top-squark ($\lstop$) accessible at Tevatron Run-II by imposing the lighter CP-even Higgs boson mass ($\mlhiggs$) bound from LEP. Important constraints were obtained in mSUGRA as well as in the unconstrained supersymmetric models. Our results show that the prospect of searching the lighter top-squark via the 4-body decay mode, in particular the $\ell + n-jets + \met$ signal, is not promising in mSUGRA due to the above bound on $\mlhiggs$. The existing bounds on $\mlstop$ from Tevatron Run-I and LEP assuming 100% BR of the loop decay of $\lstop$ are, therefore, valid to a good approximation. We also find that large BRs of the above 4-body decay are allowed in the unconstrained model over significant regions of parameter spaces and the possibility that this decay mode is the main discovery channel at Tevatron Run-II is open. We have briefly reviewed the theoretical uncertainties in the calculation of $\mlhiggs$ and their consequences for the constraints obtained by us. We have commented upon, with illustrative examples, how the above parameter space is affected if future experiments push the Higgs boson mass bound upward.

In a R-parity violating (RPV) model of neutrino mass with three bilinear couplings $μ_i$ and three trilinear couplings $λ'_{i33}$, where $i$ is the lepton index, we find six generic scenarios each with a distinctive pattern of the trilinear couplings consistent with the oscillation data. These patterns may be reflected in direct RPV decays of the lighter top squark or in the RPV decays of the lightest superparticle, assumed to be the lightest neutralino.
Typical signal sizes at the Tevatron RUN II and the LHC have been estimated and the results turn out to be encouraging.

Abstract:
Analyzing the $\ell +n$-$jets+ \met$ (where $n \ge 2 $), data from Run-I of the Tevatron using the Bayesian technique, we obtain model independent limits on the product $\br(\lstop\ra be^{+}ν_e \lspone) \times \br(\lstop^{*}\ra \bar{b}q\bar{q^{\prime}}\lspone)$ for different values of the lighter top squark($\lstop$) mass and the lightest supersymmetric particle($\lspone$) mass. The SUSY signals have been simulated by interfacing the 4-body decay of $\lstop$ at the parton level with the event generator PYTHIA. These limits have been translated into exclusion plots in the $\mlstop$-$\mlspone$ plane, which also turn out to be fairly model independent for fixed values of the BR of the competing loop decay mode $\lstop\ra c \lspone$. Assuming the loop decay BR to be negligible and using the leading order cross section for $\lstoplstop$ pair production, we obtain conservatively $\mlstop \ge $77.0 (74.5) GeV for $\mlspone$=5(15) GeV, while for $\br(\lstop\ra c \lspone)$=20%, the corresponding limits are $\mlstop \ge $68.0 (65.0) GeV. Using the larger next to leading order cross-section stronger limits are obtained. For example, if $\br(\lstop\ra c \lspone)$=20%, $\mlstop \ge $73.0 (72.7) GeV for $\mlspone$=5(15) GeV. Our limits nicely complement the ALEPH bounds which get weaker for low $\mlspone$.

Probing R-parity violating models of neutrino mass at the Tevatron via top Squark decays

Abstract:
We have estimated the limiting branching ratio of the R-parity violating (RPV) decay of the lighter top squark, $\tilde t_1 \ar l^+ d$ ($l=e$ or $μ$ and d is a down type quark of any flavor), as a function of top squark mass($\MST$) for an observable signal in the di-lepton plus di-jet channel at the Tevatron RUN-II experiment with 2 fb$^{-1}$ luminosity. Our simulations indicate that the lepton number violating nature of the underlying decay dynamics can be confirmed via the reconstruction of $\MST$. The above decay is interesting in the context of RPV models of neutrino mass where the RPV couplings ($λ'_{i3j}$) driving the above decay are constrained to be small ($\lsim 10^{-3} - 10^{-4} $). If $\tilde t_1$ is the next lightest super particle - a theoretically well motivated scenario - then the RPV decay can naturally compete with the R-parity conserving (RPC) modes which also have suppressed widths. The model independent limiting BR can delineate the parameter space in specific supersymmetric models, where the dominating RPV decay is observable and predict the minimum magnitude of the RPV coupling that will be sensitive to Run-II data. We have found it to be in the same ballpark value required by models of neutrino mass, for a wide range of $\MST$. A comprehensive future strategy for linking top squark decays with models of neutrino mass is sketched.

We investigate the prospect of stop squark search at Tevatron RUN-II in mSUGRA motivated as well as unconstrained supersymmetric models, when the lighter stop squark turns out to be the next lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP). In this case the decay into a 4-body final state consisting of a b quark, the lightest neutralino and two light fermions may compete with the much publicized loop induced two body decay into a charm quark and the lightest neutralino. We systematically study the parameter space in mSUGRA where the lighter stop squark turns out to be the NLSP and calculate the branching ratios of the competing channels in both models. Our results show that the four body decay may indeed be the main discovery channel particularly in the low tan $β$ scenarios. We discuss the detectability of stop squark pairs in the 4-body decay channel leading to one lepton with 2 or more jets accompanied by a large amount of missing energy. We also studied the corresponding background processes and the kinematic cuts required to suppress them using parton level Monte Carlo simulations. We have commented upon with illustrative examples, the required revision of the existing mass limits of the stop NLSP assumed to decay solely into the loop induced 2-body channel in the presence of the competing 4-body decay.

We incorporate the role of free volume in the density function of the amorphous structure and study its effects on the stability of such structures. The Density Functional Theory is used to explore this ``Free Volume Model'' of the supercooled structures. The Free energy minimization is carried out using the void concentration as a variational parameter. A critical value of this concentration exists corresponding to the Free energy minima of the amorphous structure. An increase in the stability is observed due to the inclusion of voids in the density structure. This study is conducted for both the weakly and highly localized amorphous structures. The free volume concentration shows a power law decrease with density for the weakly localized states and a linear decrease for the highly localized amorphous structures.

From the experimental results for different materials we observe that for more fragile systems characterized by increasing fragility parameter m, a slower relaxation of the defect-density correlation is needed to give rise to the observed peak in the spectra.
