Role of the self-interaction error in studying chemisorption on graphene from first-principles
Abstract: Adsorption of gaseous species, and in particular of hydrogen atoms, on graphene is an important process for the chemistry of this material. At the equilibrium geometry, the H atom is covalently bonded to a carbon that puckers out from the surface plane. Nevertheless the \emph{flat} graphene geometry becomes important when considering the full sticking dynamics. Here we show how GGA-DFT predicts… ▽ More

Vibrational properties of hexagonal LiBC: Infrared and Raman spectroscopy
Abstract: The paper presents infrared reflectivity and micro-Raman scattering spectra of LiBC powder pellets. The experiment allowed assignment of frequencies of all infrared and Raman active zone center modes. Results are compared with available ab-initio calculations; prediction of large Born effective charges on the nodes of B-C graphene sheets is confirmed.

Synthesis and characterisation of LixBC - hole do** does not induce superconductivity
Abstract: The synthesis of LixBC (x > 0.5) by high temperature Li deintercalation from LiBC is demonstrated by refinement of X-ray and neutron powder diffraction data - contrary to theoretical expectation no superconductivity above 2K is observed in these materials
