Swim: A Runtime for Distributed Event-Driven Applications
Abstract: Swim extends the actor model to support applications composed of linked distributed actors that continuously analyze boundless streams of events from millions of sources, to respond in-sync with the real-world. Swim builds a running application from streaming events, creating a distributed dataflow graph of linked, stateful, concurrent streaming actors that is overlaid on a mesh of runtime insta… ▽ More

Developments in Readout for Silicon Microstrip Sensors at a Linear Collider Detector
Abstract: We report recent results on the use of charge division to obtain a longitudinal coordinate from silicon strip detectors, and on sources of electronic readout noise for long, thin strips. These results hold promise for the design of Linear Collider charged particle tracking system composed of silicon microstrip sensors.

ILC Instrumentation R&D at SCIPP
Abstract: The Santa Cruz Institute for Particle Physics (SCIPP) continues to be engaged in research and development towards an ILC detector. The latest efforts at SCIPP are described, including those associated with the LSTFE front-end readout ASIC, the use of charge division to obtain a longitudinal coordinate from silicon strip detectors, and the contribution of strip resistance to readout noise.
