Two 2.6 GHz SRF cavities are being used for a dark photon search at the vertical test stand (VTS) in FNAL, for the second phase of the Dark SRF experiment. During testing at 2 K the cavities experience frequency detuning caused by microphonics and slow frequency drifts. The experiment requires that the two cavities have the same frequency within the cavity's bandwidth. These two cavities are equipped with frequency tuners consisting of three piezo actuators. The piezo actuators are used for fine-fast frequency tuning. A proportional-integral (PI) loop utilizing the three piezos on the emitter was used to stabilize the cavity frequency and match the receiver cavity frequency. The results from this implementation will be discussed. The integration time was also calculated via simulation.

Precise frequency tuning is required for these two cavities so they can be matched in frequency. A cooling capacity constraint on the dilution refrigerator only allows piezo actuators to be part of the design of the 2.6 GHz cavity tuner. The tuner is equipped with three encapsulated piezos that deliver long and short-range frequency tuning. Modifications were implemented on the first tuner design due to the low forces on the piezos caused by the cavity. Three brass rods with Belleville washers were added to the design to increase the overall force on the piezos. The testing results at 2 K are presented with the original design tuner and with the modification.

High-quality cavities are crucial for various fundamental physical studies and applications. Here we find that by coupling two cavities directly or via a phase-tunable coupling channel, the photon lifetime of the local field can exceed that of the bare cavities. The cavity photon lifetime is modified by the phases of the initial states and the phase accumulation on the coupling channel which affect the interference between cavities. In experiments, by coupling superconducting radio-frequency cavities via phase-tunable cables, we realize a factor of two improvement in the cavity photon lifetime. The results can bring rich revenue to quantum information science, sensing, and high-energy physics.

Modern particle accelerators and high-energy physics experiments that deployed up to several hundred of accelerating superconducting RF cavities require accurate frequency control. This is achieved by using cavity tuners typically actuated with the piezoelectric ceramic actuators. Piezoelectric ceramic actuators have become "standard" components of the SRF cavity tuner and depending on the application could be operated in different environments: in air, at cryogenic temperature, in vacuum, and submerged in liquid helium. Different applications place different requirements on the piezo actuators, but the important parameters common to all applications are the lifetime and reliability of the actuators. Several programs targeting the development of reliable piezo actuators are presented in this contribution.

In both cases, the tuners achieved a frequency shift of -565$\pm$80 kHz. This study will discuss cavity frequency during each step as it is being assembled in the cryomodule string and finally when it is being tested at 2 K. Tracking the cavity frequency helped enable the tuners to reach this large frequency shift. The specific procedures of tuner setting during assembly will be presented.

Pulsed SRF linacs with high accelerating gradients experience large frequency shifts caused by Lorentz force detuning (LFD). A piezoelectric actuator with a resonance control algorithm can maintain the cavity frequency at the nominal level, thus reducing the RF power. This study uses a double lever tuner with a piezoelectric actuator for compensation and another piezoelectric actuator to simulate the effects of the Lorentz force pulse. A double lever tuner has an advantage by increasing the stiffness of the cavity-tuner system, thus reducing the impact of LFD. The tests are conducted at room temperature and with a dressed 1.3 GHz 9-cell cavity.

The off-frequency detune method is being considered for application in the LCLS-II-HE superconducting linac to produce multi-energy electron beams for supporting multiple undulator lines simultaneously [1]. Design of the tuner has been changed to deliver roughly 3 times larger frequency tuning range. Working requirements for off-frequency operation (OFO) state that cavities be tuned at least twice a month. This specification requires the in-crease of the tuner longevity by 20 times compared with LCLS-II demands. Accelerated longevity tests of the LCLS-II HE dressed cavity with tuner were conducted at FNAL's HTS. Detail analysis of wearing and impacts on performances of the tuner's piezo and stepper motor actuators will be presented. Additionally, results of longevity testing of the dressed cavity bellow, when cooled down to 2 K and compressed by 2.6 mm for roughly 2000 cycles, will be presented.

This is a Snowmass white paper on the utility of existing and future superconducting cavities to probe fundamental physics. Superconducting radio frequency (SRF) cavity technology has seen tremendous progress in the past decades, as a tool for accelerator science. With advances spear-headed by the SQMS center at Fermilab, they are now being brought to the quantum regime becoming a tool in quantum science thanks to the high degree of coherence. The same high quality factor can be leveraged in the search for new physics, including searches for new particles, dark matter, including the QCD axion, and gravitational waves. We survey some of the physics opportunities and the required directions of R&D. Given the already demonstrated integration of SRF cavities in large accelerator systems, this R&D may enable larger scale searches by dedicated experiments.

An 8-cavity, 1.3 GHz, LCLS-II-HE cryomodule was assembled and tested at Fermilab to verify performance before the start of production. Its cavities were processed with a novel nitrogen do** treatment to improve gradient performance. The cryomodule was tested with a modified protocol to process sporadic quenches, which were observed in LCLS-II production cryomodules and are attributed to multipacting. Dedicated vertical test experiments support the attribution to multipacting. The verification cryomodule achieved an acceleration voltage of 200 MV in continuous wave mode, corresponding to an average accelerating gradient of 24.1 MV/m, significantly exceeding the specification of 173 MV. The average Q0 (3.0x10^10) also exceeded its specification (2.7x10^10). After processing, no field emission was observed up to the maximum gradient of each cavity. This paper reviews the cryomodule performance and discusses operational issues and mitigations implemented during the several month program.
