Strong and electroweak NLO corrections to Higgs-boson production in vector-boson fusion at the LHC
Abstract: We present results on the strong and electroweak NLO corrections to the production of a Higgs boson plus two hard jets via weak interactions at the LHC. The calculation includes all weak-boson fusion and quark-antiquark annihilation diagrams as well as all related interferences. We discuss corrections of different origin (QCD corrections of vector-boson-fusion type and interferences, electroweak… ▽ More

Electroweak and QCD corrections to Higgs-boson production in vector-boson fusion at the LHC
Abstract: Radiative corrections of strong and electroweak interactions are presented at next-to-leading order for Higgs-boson production in the weak-boson-fusion channel at the LHC. The calculation includes all weak-boson fusion and quark-antiquark annihilation diagrams as well as all related interferences. Electroweak and QCD corrections to Higgs production via vector-boson fusion at the LHC
Abstract: The radiative corrections of the strong and electroweak interactions are calculated at next-to-leading order for Higgs-boson production in the weak-boson-fusion channel at hadron colliders. Specifically, the calculation includes all weak-boson fusion and quark--antiquark annihilation diagrams to Higgs-boson production in association with two hard jets, including all corresponding interferences.… ▽ More

Gluon-induced W-boson pair production at the LHC
Abstract: Pair production of W bosons constitutes an important background to Higgs boson and new physics searches at the Large Hadron Collider LHC. We have calculated the loop-induced gluon-fusion process gg -> W*W* -> leptons, including intermediate light and heavy quarks and allowing for arbitrary invariant masses of the W bosons. While formally of next-to-next-to-leading order, the gg -> W*W* -> lepton… ▽ More

Les Houches Physics at TeV Colliders 2005, Standard Model and Higgs working group: Summary report
Abstract: This Report summarises the activities of the "SM and Higgs" working group for the Workshop "Physics at TeV Colliders", Les Houches, France, 2-20 May, 2005. On the one hand, we performed a variety of experimental and theoretical studies on standard candles (such as W, Z, and ttbar production), treating them either as proper signals of known physics, or as backgrounds to unknown physics; we also a… ▽ More

Towards LHC phenomenology at the loop level: A new method for one-loop amplitudes
Abstract: A precise understanding of LHC phenomenology requires the inclusion of one-loop corrections for multi-particle final states. In this talk we describe a semi-numerical method to compute one-loop amplitudes with many external particles and present first applications.

Gluon-induced WW background to Higgs boson searches at the LHC
Abstract: Vector-boson pair production is an important background for Higgs boson and new physics searches at the Large Hadron Collider LHC. We have calculated the loop-induced gluon-fusion process gg -> WW -> leptons, allowing for arbitrary invariant masses of the intermediate W bosons. This process contributes at O(alpha_s^2) relative to quark-antiquark annihilation, but its importance is enhanced by th… ▽ More

The Higgs Working Group: Summary Report 2003
Abstract: Theoretical progress in Higgs boson production and background processes is discussed with particular emphasis on QCD corrections at and beyond next-to-leading order as well as next-to-leading order electroweak corrections. The residual theoretical uncertainties of the investigated processes are estimated in detail. Moreover, recent investigations of the MSSM Higgs sector and other extensions of… ▽ More

Precision Calculations for Associated WH and ZH Production at Hadron Colliders
Abstract: Recently the next-to-next-to-leading order QCD corrections and the electroweak O(alpha) corrections to the Higgs-strahlung processes ppbar/pp -> WH/ZH + X have been calculated. Both types of corrections are of the order of 5-10%. In this article the various corrections are briefly discussed and combined into state-of-the-art predictions for the cross sections. The theoretical uncertainties from… ▽ More

Electroweak Radiative Corrections to Associated WH and ZH Production at Hadron Colliders
Abstract: Higgs-boson production in association with W or Z bosons, p pbar -> WH/ZH + X, is the most promising discovery channel for a light Standard Model Higgs particle at the Fermilab Tevatron. We present the calculation of the electroweak O(alpha) corrections to these processes. The corrections decrease the theoretical prediction by up to 5-10%, depending in detail on the Higgs-boson mass and the inpu… ▽ More

Induced commutative Chern-Simons term from noncommutativity in planar systems
Abstract: We test the consistency of the use of a noncommutative theory description for charged particles in a strong magnetic field, by deriving the induced Chern-Simons (CS) term for an external Abelian gauge field in 2+1 dimensions. In this description, the system is modeled by a noncommutative matter field coupled to a U(1) noncommutative gauge field, related to the original, commutative one, by a Sei… ▽ More

Non local parity transformations and anomalies
Abstract: We present an alternative derivation of the parity anomaly for a massless Dirac field in 2+1 dimensions coupled to a gauge field. The anomaly functional, a Chern-Simons action for the gauge field, is obtained from the non-trivial Jacobian corresponding to a non local symmetry of the Pauli-Villars regularized action. That Jacobian is well-defined, finite, and yields the standard Chern-Simons term… ▽ More
