This paper provides a detailed analysis of the important performance metrics like effective capacity and symbol error rate over fluctuating Nakagami-m fading channel. This distribution is obtained from the ratio of two random variables, following the Nakagami-m distribution and the uniform distribution. Our study derives exact analytical expressions for the EC and SER under different modulation schemes, considering the effect of channel parameters. Recognising the importance of additive Laplacian noise in today scenario, it has been considered for the error performance analysis of the system. This work may be utilised for the design and optimization of the systems operating in environments characterized by fluctuating Nakagami-m fading.

In the same article, Bayer et al.\ conjectured that for $k \geq 3$, the $k$-cut complexes of squared cycle graphs are shellable. Moreover, they also conjectured about the Betti numbers of these complexes when $k=3$. In this article, we prove these conjectures for $k=3$.

In this paper, we introduce almost (strictly) semi-positive tensors, which extend the concept of almost (strictly) semimonotone matrices. Furthermore, we provide insights into the characteristics of the entries within these almost (strictly) semi-positive tensors and establish a condition that is both necessary and sufficient for categorizing the underlying tensor as an almost semi-positive tensor. Drawing inspiration from H. Väliaho's work on copositivity, we present the concept of almost (strictly) copositive tensors, which extends the notion of almost (strictly) copositive matrices to tensors. It is shown that a real symmetric tensor is almost (strictly) semi-positive if and only if it is almost (strictly) copositive and a symmetric almost (strictly) semi-positive tensor has a (nonpositive) negative $H^{++}$-eigenvalue. We also establish a relationship between (strictly) diagonally dominant and (strong) $\mathcal{M}$-tensors with (strictly) semi-positive tensors.

The magnetic nature of the excitation spectrum is demonstrated by longitudinally polarized neutron studies. The total magnetic moment of 1.7(2)$μ_B$/Ir inferred from the total magnetic scattering cross section is consistent with the effective moment inferred from magnetic susceptibility data and expectations for the $J_{\rm eff}=1/2$ single ion state. The rise in the dynamic correlation function ${\cal S}(Q,ω)$ for $\hbarω<5~$meV can be described by a nearest-neighbor Kitaev model with interaction strength $K\approx-13(5)$~meV. Exchange disorder associated with the mixed D-Li site could play an important role in stabilizing the low $T$ quantum fluctuating state.

For a wide range of applications a fast, non-destructive, remote, and sensitive identification of samples with predefined characteristics is preferred instead of their full characterization. Here, we report on the experimental implementation of a nonlocal quantum measurement scheme enabling to distinguish different transparent and birefringent samples by means of polarization-entangled photon pairs and remote state preparation. On an example set of more than 80 objects with varying Mueller matrices we show that only two coincidence measurements are already sufficient for successful discrimination in contrast to at least 8 required for a comprehensive inspection. The decreased number of measurements and the sample set significantly exceeding a typical set size for various problems demonstrate the high potential of the method for applications aiming at biomedical diagnostics, remote sensing, and other classification/detection tasks.

This research delved into analyzing the effective throughput of the shadowed Beaulieu-Xie (SBX) composite fading channel using the PDF-based approach. To get the simplified relationship between the performance parameter and channel parameters, the low-SNR and the high-SNR approximation of the effective rate are also provided. The proposed formulations are evaluated for different values of system parameters to study their impact on the effective throughput. Also, the impact of the delay parameter on the EC is investigated. Monte-Carlo simulations are used to verify the facticity of the deduced equations.

There is a great opportunity to use high-quality patient journals and health registers to develop machine learning-based Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS). To implement a CDSS tool in a clinical workflow, there is a need to integrate, validate and test this tool on the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems used to store and manage patient data. However, it is often not possible to get the necessary access to an EHR system due to legal compliance. We propose an architecture for generating and using synthetic EHR data for CDSS tool development. The architecture is implemented in a system called SyntHIR. The SyntHIR system uses the Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards for data interoperability, the Gretel framework for generating synthetic data, the Microsoft Azure FHIR server as the FHIR-based EHR system and SMART on FHIR framework for tool transportability. We demonstrate the usefulness of SyntHIR by develo** a machine learning-based CDSS tool using data from the Norwegian Patient Register (NPR) and Norwegian Patient Prescriptions (NorPD). We demonstrate the development of the tool on the SyntHIR system and then lift it to the Open DIPS environment. In conclusion, SyntHIR provides a generic architecture for CDSS tool development using synthetic FHIR data and a testing environment before implementing it in a clinical setting. However, there is scope for improvement in terms of the quality of the synthetic data generated. The code is open source and available at https://github.com/potter-coder89/SyntHIR.git.

We report mechanical, optical and thermoelectric properties of recently fabricated Janus BiTeCl monolayer using density functional and semi-classical Boltzmann transport theory. Janus BiTeCl monolayer exhibits a direct bandgap, high carrier mobility (~10$^3$ cm$^2$V$^{-1}$s$^{-1}$) and high optical absorption in the UV-visible region. The mechanical behavior of the Janus BiTeCl monolayer is nearly isotropic having an ideal tensile strength ~ 15 GPa. The higher value of the Gruneisen parameter ($γ$), a low value of phonon group velocity (vg), and very little phonon scattering time ($τ_p$) lead to low lattice thermal conductivity (1.46 W/mK) of Janus BiTeCl monolayer. The combined effect of thermal conductivity and electronic transport coefficients of Janus BiTeCl monolayer results in the figure of merit (ZT) in the range of 0.43-0.75 at 300-500 K. Our results suggest Janus BiTeCl monolayer be a potential candidate for optoelectronic and moderate temperature thermoelectric applications.

Highly efficient and sustainable resources of energy are of great demand today to combat with environmental pollution and the energy crisis. In this work, we have examined the novel 2D Janus AsTeX (X = Cl, Br and I) monolayers using first-principles calculations and explore their potential energy conversion applications. We have demonstrated the thermal, energetic, dynamic and mechanical stability of AsTeX (X = Cl, Br, and I) monolayers. Janus AsTeX (X = Cl, Br and I) monolayers are indirect bandgap semiconductors with high carrier mobilities and excellent visible light optical absorption. Our findings demonstrate that the Janus AsTeCl and AsTeBr monolayers exhibits low lattice thermal conductivity and excellent electronic transport properties obtained using semi-classical Boltzmann transport theory including various scattering mechanism. Additionally, the redox potential of water is adequately engulfed by the band alignments of the AsTeCl and AsTeBr monolayers. The water splitting process under illumination can proceeds spontaneously on Janus AsTeBr monolayer, while a minimal low external potential (0.26-0.29 eV) is required to trigger water splitting process on Janus AsTeCl monolayer. A more than 10% STH efficiency of these monolayers indicate their potential practical applications in the commercial production of hydrogen. Thus, our study demonstrates that these monolayers can show potential applications in energy conversion fields.

Diet is central to the epidemic of lifestyle disorders. Accurate and effortless diet logging is one of the significant bottlenecks for effective diet management and calorie restriction. Dish detection from food platters is a challenging problem due to a visually complex food layout. We present an end-to-end computational framework for diet management, from data compilation, annotation, and state-of-the-art model identification to its mobile app implementation. As a case study, we implement the framework in the context of Indian food platters known for their complex presentation that poses a challenge for the automated detection of dishes. Starting with the 61 most popular Indian dishes, we identify the state-of-the-art model through a comparative analysis of deep-learning-based object detection architectures. Rooted in a meticulous compilation of 68,005 platter images with 134,814 manual dish annotations, we first compare ten architectures for multi-label classification to identify ResNet152 (mAP=84.51%) as the best model. YOLOv8x (mAP=87.70%) emerged as the best model architecture for dish detection among the eight deep-learning models implemented after a thorough performance evaluation. By comparing with the state-of-the-art model for the IndianFood10 dataset, we demonstrate the superior object detection performance of YOLOv8x for this subset and establish Resnet152 as the best architecture for multi-label classification. The models thus trained on richly annotated data can be extended to include dishes from across global cuisines. The proposed framework is demonstrated through a proof-of-concept mobile application with diverse applications for diet logging, food recommendation systems, nutritional interventions, and mitigation of lifestyle disorders.

From our calculations, we predict that CsCaI3 can form stable perovskite structure. It is also observed that after substitutional do** of Si in CsCaI3, the material still can stay in perovskite form. Band structure studies showed that with Si do**, the band gap can be varied from 4.76eV for un-doped CsCaI3 to 0.639eV for 75 percent Si doped CsCaI3. The optical absorption spectra of the materials showed that Si do** can induce light absorption in the visible region in CsCaI3. Electron Localization Function (ELF) and effective mass calculations show that Si do** can improve the electronic conduction in this material to meet the requirements of photo Voltaic applications.

Identifying the actual adversarial threat against a system vulnerability has been a long-standing challenge for cybersecurity research. To determine an optimal strategy for the defender, game-theoretic based decision models have been widely used to simulate the real-world attacker-defender scenarios while taking the defender's constraints into consideration. In this work, we focus on understanding human attacker behaviors in order to optimize the defender's strategy. To achieve this goal, we model attacker-defender engagements as Markov Games and search for their Bayesian Stackelberg Equilibrium. We validate our modeling approach and report our empirical findings using a Capture-The-Flag (CTF) setup, and we conduct user studies on adversaries with varying skill-levels. Our studies show that application-level deceptions are an optimal mitigation strategy against targeted attacks -- outperforming classic cyber-defensive maneuvers, such as patching or blocking network requests. We use this result to further hypothesize over the attacker's behaviors when trapped in an embedded honeypot environment and present a detailed analysis of the same.

In addition, the work also presents the derivative identities with respect to function arguments. Further, the suitability of the proposed mathematical solutions is verified with reference to wireless communication environment, where a fading behaviour of the channel acquired the bivariate Fox H-function structure. Further more, asymptotic results for the outage probability and average symbol error probability are presented utilizing the origin probability density function based approach. The obtained results are free from complex analytical functions. The increasing demand for memory in hyperscale applications has led to memory becoming a large portion of the overall datacenter spend. The emergence of coherent interfaces like CXL enables main memory expansion and offers an efficient solution to this problem. In such systems, the main memory can constitute different memory technologies with varied characteristics. In this paper, we characterize memory usage patterns of a wide range of datacenter applications across the server fleet of Meta. We, therefore, demonstrate the opportunities to offload colder pages to slower memory tiers for these applications. Without efficient memory management, however, such systems can significantly degrade performance.
We propose a novel OS-level application-transparent page placement mechanism (TPP) for CXL-enabled memory. TPP employs a lightweight mechanism to identify and place hot/cold pages to appropriate memory tiers. It enables a proactive page demotion from local memory to CXL-Memory. This technique ensures a memory headroom for new page allocations that are often related to request processing and tend to be short-lived and hot. At the same time, TPP can promptly promote performance-critical hot pages trapped in the slow CXL-Memory to the fast local memory, while minimizing both sampling overhead and unnecessary migrations. TPP works transparently without any application-specific knowledge and can be deployed globally as a kernel release.
We evaluate TPP in the production server fleet with early samples of new x86 CPUs with CXL 1.1 support. TPP makes a tiered memory system performant as an ideal baseline (<1% gap) that has all the memory in the local tier. It is 18% better than today's Linux, and 5-17% better than existing solutions including NUMA Balancing and AutoTiering. Most of the TPP patches have been merged in the Linux v5.18 release.

The recent observation of cyclotron resonance in optimally-doped La$_{2-x}$Sr$_x$CuO$_4$ using time-domain THz spectroscopy in high magnetic field has given new possibilities for the study of cuprate superconductors. One can measure the cyclotron mass in more disordered cuprates possesing short scattering times therefore expanding the study to materials and do**s in which quantum oscillations have not been observed. Here we present the measurement of the carrier mass of the hole doped cuprate La$_{2-x}$Sr$_x$CuO$_4$ across a a range of do**s spanning the slightly underdoped ($x=0.13$) to highly overdoped ($x=0.26$), near to the termination of the superconducting dome. These results reveal a systematic increase of $m_c$ with do**, up to values greater than thirteen times the bare electron mass. This is in contrast with those masses extracted from the heat capacity, which show a peak near the pseudogap critical point $p^*$ and/or Lifshitz transition. The cyclotron frequency is linear in field up to 31 T for all do**s giving no evidence for field induced Fermi surface reconstructions. The cyclotron mass is found to be positive for all do**s, but with a magnitude systematically below the heat capacity mass for under and optimally doped samples, while exceeding it for overdoped samples. Among other aspects, these results are surprising as photoemission reveals a Lifshitz transition in the middle of our do** range and the sign of the cyclotron mass determined from a finite frequency resonance is -- in conventional theories -- a {\it topological quantity} only sensitive to whether or not the Fermi surface is closed around holes or electrons. We see no sign of a divergence of the mass near $p^*$ nor near the Lifshitz transition, showing that any singularity -- if it exists -- is not strong enough to affect the cyclotron mass.

We present a thorough experimental study of the three-dimensional hyperhoneycomb Kitaev magnet $β$-Li$_2$IrO$_3$, using a combination of inelastic neutron scattering (INS), time-domain THz spectroscopy, and heat capacity measurements. The main results include a massive low-temperature reorganization of the INS spectral weight that evolves into a broad peak centered around 12 meV, and a distinctive peak in the THz data at 2.8(1) meV. A detailed comparison to powder-averaged spin-wave theory calculations reveals that the positions of these two features are controlled by the anisotropic $Γ$ coupling and the Heisenberg exchange $J$, respectively. The refined microscopic spin model places $β$-Li$_2$IrO$_3$ in close proximity to the Kitaev spin liquid phase.

This paper presents a systematic literature review of published studies on AI-based automated speech therapy tools for persons with speech sound disorders (SSD). The COVID-19 pandemic has initiated the requirement for automated speech therapy tools for persons with SSD making speech therapy accessible and affordable. However, there are no guidelines for designing such automated tools and their required degree of automation compared to human experts. In this systematic review, we followed the PRISMA framework to address four research questions: 1) what types of SSD do AI-based automated speech therapy tools address, 2) what is the level of autonomy achieved by such tools, 3) what are the different modes of intervention, and 4) how effective are such tools in comparison with human experts. An extensive search was conducted on digital libraries to find research papers relevant to our study from 2007 to 2022. The results show that AI-based automated speech therapy tools for persons with SSD are increasingly gaining attention among researchers. Articulation disorders were the most frequently addressed SSD based on the reviewed papers. Further, our analysis shows that most researchers proposed fully automated tools without considering the role of other stakeholders. Our review indicates that mobile-based and gamified applications were the most frequent mode of intervention. The results further show that only a few studies compared the effectiveness of such tools compared to expert Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP). Our paper presents the state-of-the-art in the field, contributes significant insights based on the research questions, and provides suggestions for future research directions.

Two-dimensional electron gasses (2DEG) in InAs quantum wells proximitized by aluminum are promising platforms for topological qubits based on Majorana zero modes. However, there are still substantial uncertainties associated with the nature of the electronic states at the interfaces of these systems. It is challenging to probe the properties of these hybridized states as they are buried under a relatively thick aluminum layer. In this work, we have investigated a range of InAs/In$ _{1-\text{x}} $Ga$ _\text{x} $As heterostructures with Al overlayers using high precision time-domain THz spectroscopy. Despite the thick metallic overlayer, we observe a prominent cyclotron resonance in the magnetic field that can be associated with the response of the interfacial states. Measurements of the THz range complex Faraday rotation allow the extraction of the sign and magnitude of the effective mass, the density of charge carriers, and scattering times of the 2DEG despite the close proximity of the aluminum layer. We discuss the extracted band parameters and connect their values to the known physics of these materials.

While bulk physical properties measurements indicate PdPb$_{2}$ is a conventional superconductor with a $T_c$ of 3.0 K, measurements of surface impedance through the microwave cavity perturbation technique indicate a large, non-vanishing dissipative component below $T_c$ that is at odds with conventional superconductivity. The study of CoNb$_2$O$_6$ sits at the confluence of simplicity and complexity: on one hand, the model for Ising chains -- the building blocks of CoNb$_2$O$_6$ -- in a transverse field, can be exactly solved and, thus, serves as an archetype of quantum criticality; on the other hand, the weak but nonzero interchain coupling adds geometric frustration to the stage, substantially complicating the phase diagram. Here we utilize low-temperature specific heat and thermal conductivity measurements to study the low-lying magnetic excitations in CoNb$_2$O$_6$ and its spin-1 analogue NiNb$_2$O$_6$. The thermal conductivity is found to be suppressed around the quantum critical point, where the specific heat is enhanced due to gapless magnetic excitations, pointing to the localized nature of the latter. These results highlight the predominant role of frustration in determining the quantum critical magnetic excitations of spin chains, which may furthermore underlie the remarkable similarities between the phenomenology of these spin-1/2 and spin-1 systems.

The restrained domination number of $G$, denoted by $γ_r(G)$, is the smallest cardinality of a restrained dominating set of $G$. Finding the restrained domination number is NP-hard for bipartite and chordal graphs. Let $G_n^i$ be the family of restrained dominating sets of a graph $G$ of order $n$ with cardinality $i$, and let $d_r(G_n, i)=|G_n^i|$. The restrained domination polynomial (RDP) of $G_n$, $D_r(G_n, x)$ is defined as $D_r(G_n, x) = \sum_{i=γ_r(G_n)}^{n} d_r(G_n,i)x^i$. In this paper, we focus on the RDP of cycles and have, thus, introduced several novel ways to compute $d_r(C_n, i)$, where $C_n$ is a cycle of order $n$. In the first approach, we use a recursive formula for $d_r(C_n,i)$; while in the other approach, we construct a generating function to compute $d_r(C_n,i)$.

Thin films of $ β- $tungsten host superconductivity in the presence of strong spin-orbit coupling. This non-equilibrium crystalline phase of tungsten has attracted considerable attention in recent years due to its giant spin Hall effect and the potential promise of exotic superconductivity. However, more than 60 years after its discovery, superconductivity in this material is still not well understood. Using time-domain THz spectroscopy, we measure the frequency response of the complex optical conductivity of $ β- $tungsten thin film with a T$_c$ of 3.7 K in its superconducting state. At temperatures down to 1.6 K, we find that both the superconducting gap and the superfluid spectral weight are much smaller than that expected for a weakly coupled superconductor given the T$_c$. The conclusion of a small gap holds up even when accounting for possible inhomogeneities in the system, which could come from other crystalline forms of tungsten (that are not superconducting at these temperatures) or surface states on $ β- $tungsten grains. Using detailed X-ray diffraction measurements, we preclude the possibility of significant amount of other tungsten allotropes, strongly suggesting the topological surface states of $ β- $tungsten play the role of inhomogeneity in these films. Our observations pose a challenge and opportunity for a theory of strongly anisotropic normal metals with strong spin-orbit coupling to describe.

The temporal behaviour of X-rays from some AGN and microquasars is thought to arise from the rapid collapse of the hot, inner parts of their accretion discs. The collapse can occur over the radial infall timescale of the inner accretion disc. However, estimates of this timescale are hindered by a lack of knowledge of the operative viscosity in the collisionless plasma comprising the inner disc. We use published simulation results for cosmic ray diffusion through turbulent magnetic fields to arrive at a viscosity prescription appropriate to hot accretion discs. We construct simplified disc models using this viscosity prescription and estimate disc collapse timescales for 3C 120, 3C 111, and GRS 1915+105. The Shakura-Sunyaev α parameter resulting from our model ranges from 0.02 to 0.08. Our inner disc collapse timescale estimates agree well with those of the observed X-ray dips. We find that the collapse timescale is most sensitive to the outer radius of the hot accretion disc.

We consider the problem of energy management in microgrid networks. A microgrid is capable of generating a limited amount of energy from a renewable resource and is responsible for handling the demands of its dedicated customers. Owing to the variable nature of renewable generation and the demands of the customers, it becomes imperative that each microgrid optimally manages its energy. This involves intelligently scheduling the demands at the customer side, selling (when there is a surplus) and buying (when there is a deficit) the power from its neighboring microgrids depending on its current and future needs. Typically, the transaction of power among the microgrids happens at a pre-decided price by the central grid. In this work, we formulate the problems of demand and battery scheduling, energy trading and dynamic pricing (where we allow the microgrids to decide the price of the transaction depending on their current configuration of demand and renewable energy) in the framework of stochastic games. Subsequently, we propose a novel approach that makes use of independent learners Deep Q-learning algorithm to solve this problem. Through extensive empirical evaluation, we show that our proposed framework is more beneficial to the majority of the microgrids and we provide a detailed analysis of the results.

NiNb$_{2}$O$_{6}$ is an almost ideal realization of a 1D spin-1 ferromagnetic Heisenberg chain compound with weak unidirectional anisotropy. Using time-domain THz spectroscopy, we measure the low-energy electrodynamic response of NiNb$_{2}$O$_{6}$ as a function of temperature and external magnetic field. At low temperatures, we find a magnon-like spin-excitation, which corresponds to the lowest energy excitation at $q\sim0$. At higher temperatures, we unexpectedly observe a temperature-dependent renormalization of the spin-excitation energy, which has a strong dependence on field direction. Using theoretical arguments, exact diagonalizations and finite temperature dynamical Lanczos calculations, we construct a picture of magnon-magnon interactions that naturally explains the observed renormalization. This unique scenario is a consequence of the spin-1 nature and has no analog in the more widely studied spin-1/2 systems.

In this paper, we explore the connection between the curvature of the background De Sitter space-time with the spectroscopic study of entanglement of two atoms. Our set up is in the context of an Open Quantum System (OQS), where the two atoms, each having two energy levels and represented by Pauli spin tensor operators projected along any arbitrary direction. The system mimics the role of a pair of freely falling Unruh De-Witt detectors, which are allowed to non-adiabatically interact with a conformally coupled massless probe scalar field which has the role of background thermal bath. The effective dynamics of this combined system takes into account of the non-adiabatic interaction, which is commonly known as the Resonant Casimir Polder Interaction (RCPI) with the thermal bath. Our analysis reveals that the RCPI of two stable entangled atoms in the quantum vacuum states in OQS depends on the de Sitter space-time curvature relevant to the temperature of the thermal bath felt by the static observer. We also find that, in OQS, RCPI produces a new significant contribution appearing in the effective Hamiltonian of the total system and thermal bath under consideration. We find that the Lamb Shift is characterized by a decreasing inverse square power-law behavior, $L^{-2}$, when inter atomic Euclidean distance, $L$, is much larger than a characteristic length scale, $k$, which is the inverse surface gravity of the background De Sitter space. If the background space-time would have been Minkowskian this shift decreases as, $L^{-1}$, and is independent of temperature. Thus, we establish a connection between the curvature of the De Sitter space-time with the Lamb Shift spectroscopy.

Epitaxial bilayer films of Bi(110) and Ni host a time-reversal symmetry (TRS) breaking superconducting order with an unexpectedly high transition temperature $T_c = 4.1$ K. Using time-domain THz spectroscopy, we measure the low energy electrodynamic response of a Bi/Ni bilayer thin film from $0.2$ THz to $2$ THz as a function of temperature and magnetic field. We analyze the data in the context of a BCS-like superconductor with a finite normal-state scattering rate. In zero magnetic field, all states in the film become fully gapped, providing important constraints into possible pairing symmetries. Our data appears to rule out the odd-frequency pairing that is natural for many ferromagnetic-superconductor interfaces. By analyzing the magnetic field-dependent response in terms of a pair-breaking parameter, we determine that superconductivity develops over the entire bilayer sample which may point to the $p$-wave like nature of unconventional superconductivity.

In this work, our prime focus is to study the one to one correspondence between the conduction phenomena in electrical wires with impurity and the scattering events responsible for particle production during stochastic inflation and reheating implemented under a closed quantum mechanical system in early universe cosmology. In this connection, we also present a derivation of fourth order corrected version of the Fokker Planck equation and its analytical solution for studying the dynamical features of the particle creation events in the stochastic inflation and reheating stage of the universe. It is explicitly shown from our computation that quantum corrected Fokker Planck equation describe the particle creation phenomena better for Dirac delta type of scatterer. In this connection, we additionally discuss It$\hat{o}$, Stratonovich prescription and the explicit role of finite temperature effective potential for solving the probability distribution profile. Furthermore, we extend our discussion to describe the quantum description of randomness involved in the dynamics. We also present a computation to derive the expression for the measure of the stochastic non-linearity arising in the stochastic inflation and reheating epoch of the universe, often described by Lyapunov Exponent. Apart from that, we quantify the quantum chaos arising in a closed system by a more strong measure, commonly known as Spectral Form Factor using the principles of Random Matrix Theory (RMT). Additionally, we discuss the role of out of time order correlation (OTOC) function to describe quantum chaos in the present non-equilibrium field theoretic setup. Finally, for completeness, we also provide a bound on the measure of quantum chaos arising due to the presence of stochastic non-linear dynamical interactions into the closed quantum system of the early universe in a completely model-independent way.

We provide a different analysis of an identity discovered by Andrejak et al, to rederive this upper bound of $O(n^{4/3})$. In the original paper of Andrejak et al. the proof is based on a naive analysis whereas in this paper we obtain the same upper bound by tightening the analysis thereby opening a new door to derive these upper bounds using the identity. Our analysis is based on a result of Cardano for finding the roots of a cubic equation. We believe that our technique has the potential to derive improved bounds on the number of halving edges.

Cooperative spectrum sensing has been proven to improve sensing performance of cognitive users in presence of spectral diversity. For multi-channel CRN (MC-CRN), designing a cooperative spectrum sensing scheme becomes quite challenging as it needs an optimal sensing scheduling scheme, which schedules cognitive users to different channels such that a good balance between detection performance and the discovery of spectrum holes is achieved. The main issue associated with cooperative spectrum sensing scheduling (CSSS) scheme is the design of an optimal schedule that could specify which SUs should be assigned to which channels at what time to achieve maximal network throughput with minimal amount of energy and satisfying the desirable sensing accuracy. In this regard, designing an efficient CSSS scheme for MC-CRN is of utmost importance for practical implementation of CRN. In this article, we explore CSSS problem from a broad perspective and present the different objectives and the inherent issues and challenges arise in designing the CSSS scheme. We also discuss the different methods used for modeling of the CSSS scheme for MC-CRN. Further, a few future research directions are listed which need investigation while develo** the solution for CSSS problem.

We show that under an a.c. magnetic field excitation the vortex lattice in a superconductor with periodic array of holes can undergo a transition from a Mott-like state where each vortex is localized in a hole, to a metal-like state where the vortices get delocalized. The vortex dynamics is studied through the magnetic shielding response which is measured using a low frequency two-coil mutual inductance technique on a disordered superconducting NbN film having periodic array of holes. We observe that the shielding response of the vortex state is strongly dependent on the amplitude of the a.c. magnetic excitation. At low amplitude the shielding response varies smoothly with excitation amplitude, corresponding to elastic deformation of the vortex lattice. However, above a threshold value of excitation the response shows a series of sharp jumps, signaling the onset of the Mott to metal transition. Quantitative analysis reveals that this is a collective phenomenon which depends on the filling fraction of vortices in the antidot lattice.
