Humor recognition in conversations is a challenging task that has recently gained popularity due to its importance in dialogue understanding, including in multimodal settings (i.e., text, acoustics, and visual). The few existing datasets for humor are mostly in English. However, due to the tremendous growth in multilingual content, there is a great demand to build models and systems that support multilingual information access. To this end, we propose a dataset for Multimodal Multiparty Hindi Humor (M2H2) recognition in conversations containing 6,191 utterances from 13 episodes of a very popular TV series "Shrimaan Shrimati Phir Se". Each utterance is annotated with humor/non-humor labels and encompasses acoustic, visual, and textual modalities. We propose several strong multimodal baselines and show the importance of contextual and multimodal information for humor recognition in conversations. The empirical results on M2H2 dataset demonstrate that multimodal information complements unimodal information for humor recognition. The dataset and the baselines are available at http://www.iitp.ac.in/~ai-nlp-ml/resources.html and https://github.com/declare-lab/M2H2-dataset.

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to have major impact to health and medical infrastructure, economy, and agriculture. Prominent computational and mathematical models have been unreliable due to the complexity of the spread of infections. Moreover, lack of data collection and reporting makes modelling attempts difficult and unreliable. Hence, we need to re-look at the situation with reliable data sources and innovative forecasting models. Deep learning models such as recurrent neural networks are well suited for modelling spatiotemporal sequences. In this paper, we apply recurrent neural networks such as long short term memory (LSTM), bidirectional LSTM, and encoder-decoder LSTM models for multi-step (short-term) COVID-19 infection forecasting. We select Indian states with COVID-19 hotpots and capture the first (2020) and second (2021) wave of infections and provide two months ahead forecast. Our model predicts that the likelihood of another wave of infections in October and November 2021 is low; however, the authorities need to be vigilant given emerging variants of the virus. The accuracy of the predictions motivate the application of the method in other countries and regions. Nevertheless, the challenges in modelling remain due to the reliability of data and difficulties in capturing factors such as population density, logistics, and social aspects such as culture and lifestyle.

Related tasks often have inter-dependence on each other and perform better when solved in a joint framework. In this paper, we present a deep multi-task learning framework that jointly performs sentiment and emotion analysis both. The multi-modal inputs (i.e., text, acoustic and visual frames) of a video convey diverse and distinctive information, and usually do not have equal contribution in the decision making. We propose a context-level inter-modal attention framework for simultaneously predicting the sentiment and expressed emotions of an utterance. We evaluate our proposed approach on CMU-MOSEI dataset for multi-modal sentiment and emotion analysis. Evaluation results suggest that multi-task learning framework offers improvement over the single-task framework. The proposed approach reports new state-of-the-art performance for both sentiment analysis and emotion analysis.

DSS serve the management, operations, and planning levels of an organization and help to make decisions, which may be rapidly changing and not easily specified in advance. Data mining has a vital role to extract important information to help in decision making of a decision support system. Integration of data mining and decision support systems (DSS) can lead to the improved performance and can enable the tackling of new types of problems. Artificial Intelligence methods are improving the quality of decision support, and have become embedded in many applications ranges from ant locking automobile brakes to these days interactive search engines. It provides various machine learning techniques to support data mining. The classification is one of the main and valuable tasks of data mining. Several types of classification algorithms have been suggested, tested and compared to determine the future trends based on unseen data. There has been no single algorithm found to be superior over all others for all data sets. The objective of this paper is to compare various classification algorithms that have been frequently used in data mining for decision support systems. Three decision trees based algorithms, one artificial neural network, one statistical, one support vector machines with and without ada boost and one clustering algorithm are tested and compared on four data sets from different domains in terms of predictive accuracy, error rate, classification index, comprehensibility and training time. Experimental results demonstrate that Genetic Algorithm (GA) and support vector machines based algorithms are better in terms of predictive accuracy. SVM without adaboost shall be the first choice in context of speed and predictive accuracy. Adaboost improves the accuracy of SVM but on the cost of large training time.

Abstract:
In this paper, a new voltage-mode quadrature oscillator using minimum number of active and passive component is proposed. The proposed circuit employs single modified DVCC, two grounded capacitor and two grounded resistors, which is ideal for IC implementation. The active and passive sensitivity are no more than unity. The proposed circuit is verified through PSPICE simulation results.

This research paper emphasizes that the Stable Matching problems are the same as the problems of stable configurations of Multi-stage Interconnection Networks (MIN). The authors have solved the Stability Problem of Existing Regular Gamma Multi-stage Interconnection Network (GMIN), 3-Disjoint Gamma Multi-stage Interconnection Network (3DGMIN) and 3-Disjoint Path Cyclic Gamma Multi-stage Interconnection Network (3DCGMIN) using the approaches and solutions provided by the Stable Matching Problem. Specifically Stable Marriage Problem is used as an example of Stable Matching. For MINs to prove Stable two existing algorithms are used:-the first algorithm generates the MINs Preferences List in time and second algorithm produces a set of most Optimal Pairs of the Switching Elements (SEs) (derived from the MINs Preferences List) in time. Moreover, the paper also solves the problem of Ties that occurs between the Optimal Pairs. The results are promising as the comparison of the MINs based on their stability shows that the ASEN, ABN, CLN, GMIN, 3DCGMIN are highly stable in comparison to HZTN, QTN, DGMIN. However, on comparing the irregular and regular MINs in totality upon their stability the regular MINs comes out to be more stable than the irregular MINs.

In computational molecular biology, gene regulatory binding sites prediction in whole genome remains a challenge for the researchers. Now a days, the genome wide regulatory binding site prediction tools required either direct pattern sequence or weight matrix. Although there are known transcription factor binding sites databases available for genome wide prediction but no tool is available which can construct different weight matrices as per need of user or tools available for large data set scanning by first aligning the input upstream or promoter sequences and than construct the matrices in different level and file format. Considering this, we developed a DNA MATRIX tool for searching putative regulatory binding sites in gene upstream sequences. This tool uses the simple biological rule based heuristic algorithm for weight matrix construction, which can be transformed into different formats after motif alignment and therefore provides the possibility to identify the most potential conserved binding sites in the regulated genes. The user may construct and save specific weight or frequency matrices in different form and file formats based on user based selection of conserved aligned block of short sequences ranges from 6 to 20 base pairs and prior nucleotide frequency before weight scoring.

LRS Bianchi type-I models have been studied in the cosmological theory based on Lyra's geometry. A new class of exact solutions has been obtained by considering a time dependent displacement field for variable deceleration parameter models of the universe. We have compared our models with those of Einstein's field theory with the cosmological term $Λ$. Our frame of reference is restricted to the recent Ia observations of supernovae. Some physical behaviour of the models is also examined in the presence of perfect fluids.
