This paper presents a mission concept that enables Earth-Mars communications resistant to periods of solar conjunction by using CubeSat satellites equipped with a solar sail. The dynamics of the satellite is modeled separately in the respective Earth-Sun and Mars-Sun Restricted Three Body Problem (RTBP), modified to include the solar radiation pressure effect exerted on the sail. Due to the non-linearities presented on this model, we numerically determine the location of the non-eclipsed equilibrium points parameterized by the sail orientation through a continuation method. These are the points where two CubeSat nanosatellites equipped with a solar sail could be placed. The instability of these equilibrium points makes it necessary to implement a control strategy to keep the satellite's trajectory close to equilibrium by constantly changing the orientation of the sail. To prove the robustness of the strategy, some numerical simulations have been performed for a given period of mission.

Abstract:
In this paper, we study a faithful translation of a two-player quantum Morra game, which builds on previous work by including the classical game as a special case. We propose a natural deformation of the game in the quantum regime in which Alice has a winning advantage, breaking the balance of the classical game. A Nash equilibrium can be found in some cases by employing a pure strategy, which is…

In this paper, we study a faithful translation of a two-player quantum Morra game, which builds on previous work by including the classical game as a special case. We propose a natural deformation of the game in the quantum regime in which Alice has a winning advantage, breaking the balance of the classical game. A Nash equilibrium can be found in some cases by employing a pure strategy, which is impossible in the classical game where a mixed strategy is always required. We prepared our states using photonic qubits on a linear optics setup, with an average deviation less than 2% with respect to the measured outcome probabilities. Finally, we discuss potential applications of the quantum Morra game to the study of quantum information and communication.

Determination of the perturbations in the ionosphere produced by tsunamis through GNSS observations
Authors:

Abstract:
During the propagation of a tsunami, gravity and sound waves can be produced, spreading from its source to the ionosphere's upper layers, thus generating perturbed electron densities in its E and F regions. These ionospheric disturbances can be studied in detail using measurements of the ionosphere's Total Electron Content (TEC), registered by permanent GNSS stations. In this contribution, the fou…

In this contribution, the foundations of the VARION method (Variometric Approach for Real-time Ionosphere Observation) are described in order to obtain TEC's temporal variations with the aim of detecting such ionospheric disturbances. Moreover, the numerical results obtained after applying this method to real cases of tsunamis monitored by those satellites whose Ionospheric Pierce Points (IPPs) are closest to the tsunami source are presented. Lastly, based on these ionospheric perturbations reflected in the signals emitted by the satellites, a preliminary design is described for its potential integration into a Tsunami early Warning System (TWS) for the Iberian Peninsula.

General quantum Chinos games
Authors:

Abstract:
The Chinos game is a non-cooperative game between players who try to guess the total sum of coins drawn collectively. Semiclassical and quantum versions of this game were proposed by F. Guinea and M. A. Martin-Delgado, in J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 36 L197 (2003), where the coins are replaced by a boson whose number occupancy is the aim of player's guesses. Here, we propose other versions of the Chino…

Here, we propose other versions of the Chinos game using a hard-core boson, one qubit and two qubits. In the latter case, we find that using entangled states the second player has a stable winning strategy that becomes symmetric for non-entangled states. Finally, we use the IBM Quantum Experience to compute the basic quantities involved in the two-qubit version of the game

The well-known Heisenberg--Robertson uncertainty relation for a pair of noncommuting observables, is expressed in terms of the product of variances and the commutator among the operators, computed for the quantum state of a system. Different modified commutation relations have been considered in the last years with the purpose of taking into account the effect of quantum gravity. Indeed it can be seen that letting $[X,P] = i\hbar (1+βP^2)$ implies the existence of a minimal length proportional to $\sqrtβ$. The Bialynicki-Birula--Mycielski entropic uncertainty relation in terms of Shannon entropies is also seen to be deformed in the presence of a minimal length, corresponding to a strictly positive deformation parameter $β$. Generalized entropies can be implemented. Indeed, results for the sum of position and (auxiliary) momentum Rényi entropies with conjugated indices have been provided recently for the ground and first excited state. We present numerical findings for conjugated pairs of entropic indices, for the lowest lying levels of the deformed harmonic oscillator system in 1D, taking into account the position distribution for the wavefunction and the actual momentum.
