In this Letter we introduce some field-theoretic approach for computing the critical properties of $γ_{KLS}$-generalized systems undergoing continuous phase transitions, namely $γ_{KLS}$-statistical field theory. From this new approach emerges the new generalized O($N$)$_{γ_{KLS}}$ universality class, which is capable of encompassing nonconventional critical exponents for real imperfect systems known as manganites not described by standard statistical field theory. We compare the generalized results with those obtained from measurements in manganites. The agreement was satisfactory, where the relative errors are $< 5\%$ for the most of manganites used. Although the present approach describes the aforementioned nonconventional critical indices, we show that it is not complete. For example, it does not explain the results for some other manganites, being explained only for nonextensive statistical field theory recently introduced in literature. So, $γ_{KLS}$-statistical field theory has to be discarded for statistical mechanics generalization purposes.

Organic light-emitting transistors (OLETs) are multifunctional optoelectronic devices that combine in a single structure the advantages of organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) and organic field-effect transistors (OFETs). However, low charge mobility and high threshold voltage are critical hurdles to practical OLETs implementation. This work reports on the improvements obtained by using polyurethane films as dielectric layer material in place of the standard poly(methylmethacrylate) (PMMA) in OLET devices. It was found that polyurethane drastically reduces the number of traps in the device thereby improving electrical and optoelectronic device parameters. In addition, a model was developed to rationalize an anomalous behavior at the pinch-off voltage. Our findings represent a step forward to overcome the limiting factors of OLETs that prevent their use in commercial electronics by providing a simple route for low-bias device operation.

In this Letter we introduce some field-theoretic approach for computing the critical properties of systems undergoing continuous phase transitions governed by the $κ$-generalized statistics, namely $κ$-generalized statistical field theory. In particular, we show, by computations through analytic and simulation results, that the $κ$-generalized Ising-like systems are not capable of describing the nonconventional critical properties of real imperfect crystals, \emph{e. g.} of manganites, as some alternative generalized theory is, namely nonextensive statistical field theory, as shown recently in literature. Although $κ$-Ising-like systems do not depend on $κ$, we show that a few distinct systems do. Thus the $κ$-generalized statistical field theory is not general, \emph{i. e.} it fails to generalize Ising-like systems for describing the critical behavior of imperfect crystals, and must be discarded as one generalizing statistical mechanics. For the latter systems we present the physical interpretation of the theory by furnishing the general physical interpretation of the deformation $κ$-parameter.

We compute analytically the radiative quantum corrections, up to next-to-leading loop order, to the universal critical exponents for both massless and massive O($N$) $λφ^{4}$ scalar squeezed field theories for probing the universality hypothesis. For that, we employ six distinct and independent methods. The outcomes for the universal squeezed critical exponents obtained through these methods are identical among them and reduce to the conventional ones where squeezing is absent. Although the squeezing mechanism modifies the internal properties of the field, the squeezed critical indices are not affected by the squeezing effect, thus implying the validity of the universality hypothesis, at least at the loop level considered. At the end, we present the corresponding physical interpretation for the results in terms of the geometric symmetry properties of the squeezed field.

In this Letter we validate experimentally the nonextensive statistical field theory, a new general field-theoretic approach introduced recently in the literature. With such an approach, we are capable of computing the critical properties of nonextensive systems undergoing continuous phase transitions, belonging to the new generalized O($N$)$_{q}$ universality class. We compare the nonextensive critical indices values evaluated from the theory with those already obtained in literature through experiments for various distinct manganites presenting nonconventional critical behavior. The agreement is satisfactory, whose relative errors are $< 5\%$ for the most of manganites employed and as better as $|1 - q| < 1$ which is the limit of validity of the theory. We compute the critical exponents for nonextensive $λφ^{3}$ scalar field theory for all loop orders and $|q - 1| < 1$. We apply the results for both nonextensive percolation and Lee-Yang edge singularity problems. The corresponding systems are nonextensive generalizations of their extensive counterparts. For that we employ tools from the recently introduced nonextensive statistical field theory. The results for the nonextensive critical exponents computed depend on the nonextensive parameter $q$, which encodes global correlations among the degrees of freedom of the system. The extensive results are recovered in the limit $q\rightarrow 1$. There is an interplay between global correlations and fluctuations, once the nonextensive critical exponents depend on $q$. This dependence is in agreement with the universality hypothesis.

Learning from continuous data streams via classification/regression is prevalent in many domains. Adapting to evolving data characteristics (concept drift) while protecting data owners' private information is an open challenge. We present a differentially private ensemble solution to this problem with two distinguishing features: it allows an \textit{unbounded} number of ensemble updates to deal with the potentially never-ending data streams under a fixed privacy budget, and it is \textit{model agnostic}, in that it treats any pre-trained differentially private classification/regression model as a black-box. Our method outperforms competitors on real-world and simulated datasets for varying settings of privacy, concept drift, and data distribution.

We introduce a field-theoretic approach for describing the critical behavior of nonextensive systems, systems displaying global correlations among their degrees of freedom, encoded by the nonextensive parameter $q$. As some applications, we report, to our knowledge, the first analytical computation of both universal static and dynamic $q$-dependent nonextensive critical exponents for O($N$) vector models, valid for all loop orders and $|q - 1| < 1$. Then emerges the new nonextensive O($N$)$_{q}$ universality class. We employ six independent methods which furnish identical results. Particularly, the results for nonextensive 2d Ising systems, exact within the referred approximation, agree with that obtained from computer simulations, within the margin of error, as better as $q$ is closer to $1$. We argue that the present approach can be applied to all models described by extensive statistical field theory as well. The results show an interplay between global correlations and fluctuations.

In this work, we investigate how the anisotropy affects the cosmological parameters estimation. Here the anisotropy is incorporated as a small gravitational disturbance. We calculate the Fisher information for both cosmological parameters $ε$ (expansion volume) and $ρ$ (expansion rate), and we show that the anisotropy introduces oscillations in the Fisher information spectrum. This implies that the estimation of the cosmological parameters is sensible to the direction of the momentum $k$ of particles. In addition, we observe that for small values of the momentum $k$ there is a substantial difference between the Fisher information spectrum for the minimum and conformal couplings.

Ensuring the privacy of users whose data are used to train Natural Language Processing (NLP) models is necessary to build and maintain customer trust. Differential Privacy (DP) has emerged as the most successful method to protect the privacy of individuals. However, applying DP to the NLP domain comes with unique challenges. The most successful previous methods use a generalization of DP for metric spaces, and apply the privatization by adding noise to inputs in the metric space of word embeddings. However, these methods assume that one specific distance measure is being used, ignore the density of the space around the input, and assume the embeddings used have been trained on non-sensitive data.
In this work we propose Truncated Exponential Mechanism (TEM), a general method that allows the privatization of words using any distance metric, on embeddings that can be trained on sensitive data. Our method makes use of the exponential mechanism to turn the privatization step into a \emph{selection problem}. This allows the noise applied to be calibrated to the density of the embedding space around the input, and makes domain adaptation possible for the embeddings. In our experiments, we demonstrate that our method significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art in terms of utility for the same level of privacy, while providing more flexibility in the metric selection.

While text privatization methods exist, they require the existence of a trusted party that collects user data before applying a privatization method to preserve users' privacy. In this work we propose an efficient mechanism to provide metric differential privacy for text data on-device. With our solution, sensitive data never leaves the device and service providers only have access to privatized data to train models on and analyze. We compare our algorithm to the state-of-the-art for text privatization, showing similar or better utility for the same privacy guarantees, while reducing the storage costs by orders of magnitude, enabling on-device text privatization.

In addition, it is shown that the anisotropic effects on the fidelity becomes more significative in the regime of smooth expansion and the limit of massless particles. On the other hand, the influence of curvature coupling becomes noticeable in the regime of fast expansion (values of $\fracρω \gg 1$).

We propose a penalized pseudo-likelihood criterion to estimate the graph of conditional dependencies in a discrete Markov random field that can be partially observed. We prove the convergence of the estimator in the case of a finite or countable infinite set of nodes. In the finite case, the underlying graph can be recovered with probability one, while in the countable infinite case, we can recover any finite sub-graph with probability one by allowing the candidate neighborhoods to grow as a function o(log n), with n the sample size. Our method requires minimal assumptions on the probability distribution, and contrary to other approaches in the literature, the usual positivity condition is not needed. We evaluate the performance of the estimator on simulated data, and we apply the methodology to a real dataset of stock index markets in different countries.

We present an explicit analytical computation of the quantum corrections, at next-to-leading order, to the critical exponents. We employ for that the Unconventional minimal subtraction, recently proposed, and the Callan-Symanzik methods to probe the universality hypothesis by comparing the outcomes for the critical exponents evaluated in both methods and the ones calculated previously in massless theories renormalized at different renormalization schemes. Furthermore, the consistency of the former method is investigated for the first time in literature, to our knowledge. We show that the rotation symmetry-breaking amplitude ratios turn out to be identical in the three methods and equal to their respective rotation symmetry-breaking ones, although the amplitudes themselves, in general, depend on the method employed and on the rotation symmetry-breaking parameter. At the end, we show that all these results can be generalized, through an inductive process based on a general theorem emerging from the exact calculation, to any loop level and physically interpreted based on symmetry ideas.

We probe the universality hypothesis by analytically computing, at least, the two-loop corrections to the critical exponents for $q$-deformed O($N$) self-interacting $λφ^{4}$ scalar field theories through six distinct and independent field-theoretic renormalization group methods and $ε$-expansion techniques. We show that the effect of $q$-deformation on the one-loop corrections to the $q$-deformed critical exponents is null, so universality hypothesis is broken down at this loop order. Such effect emerges just, at least, at two-loop level and the validity of universality hypothesis is restored. The $q$-deformed critical exponents obtained through the six methods are the same and, furthermore, reduce to their non-deformed values in the appropriated limit.

For attaining that goal, we employ three different and independent field-theoretic renormalization group methods. The results found for the critical exponents show that they are identical in the three distinct methods and equal to their Lorentz invariant counterparts. Furthermore, we show that the results obtained here, based on the single concept of loop order of the referred terms of the corresponding $β$-function and anomalous dimensions, reduce to the ones obtained through the earlier non-exact approach based on a joint redefinition of the field and coupling constant of the theory, in the appropriate limit.

We introduce a simpler although unconventional minimal subtraction renormalization procedure in the case of a massive scalar $λφ^{4}$ theory in Euclidean space using dimensional regularization. We show that this method is very similar to its counterpart in massless field theory. In particular, the choice of using the bare mass at higher perturbative order instead of employing its tree-level counterpart eliminates all tadpole insertions at that order. As an application, we compute diagrammatically the critical exponents $η$ and $ν$ at least up to two loops. We perform an explicit comparison with the Bogoliubov-Parasyuk-Hepp-Zimmermann ($BPHZ$) method at the same loop order, show that the proposed method requires fewer diagrams and establish a connection between the two approaches.

By considering this information, we suggest an energy region for an experimental investigation of the unbound $^{21}$C virtual state. Our analysis, in a renormalized zero-ranged three-body model, also indicates that the two-neutron separation energy in $^{22}$C is expected to be found below $\sim$0.4~MeV, where the $^{22}$C is approximated by a Borromean configuration with a pointlike $^{20}$C and two $s$-wave halo neutrons. A virtual-state energy of $^{21}$C close to zero, would make the $^{22}$C, within Borromean nuclei configurations, the most promising candidate to present an excited bound Efimov state or a continuum three-body resonance.

We present the Callan-Symanzik-Lifshitz method to approaching the critical behaviors of systems with arbitrary competing interactions. Every distinct competition subspace in the anisotropic cases define an independent set of renormalized vertex parts via normalization conditions with nonvanishing distinct masses at zero external momenta. Otherwise, only one mass scale is required in the isotropic behaviors. At the critical dimension, we prove: i) the existence of the Callan-Symanzik-Lifshitz equations and ii) the multiplicative renormalizability of the vertex functions using the inductive method. Away from the critical dimension, we utilize the orthogonal approximation to compute higher loop Feynman integrals, anisotropic as well as isotropic, necessary to get the exponents $η_{n}$ and $ν_{n}$ at least up to two-loop level. Moreover, we calculate the latter exactly for isotropic behaviors at the same perturbative order. Similarly to the computation in the massless formalism, the orthogonal approximation is found to be exact at one-loop order. The outcome for all critical exponents matches exactly with those computed using the zero mass field-theoretic description renormalized at nonvanishing external momenta.

While the long-time regime and the linear behavior at short times of the theory are well understood, the onset of nonlinearities at short times and the breaking of the linear theory at different length scales are less understood. In the Adomian's decomposition method, the solution is systematically calculated in the form of a polynomial expansion for the order parameter, with a time dependence given as a series expansion. The method is very accurate for short times, which allows to incorporate the short-time dynamics of the nonlinear terms in a analytical and controllable way.
