Dynamical Generation of Elementary Fermion Mass: First Lattice Evidence
Abstract: Using lattice simulations we demonstrate from first principles the existence of a non-perturbative mechanism for elementary particle mass generation in models with gauge fields, fermions and scalars, if an exact invariance forbids power divergent fermion masses and fermionic chiral symmetries broken at UV scale are maximally restored. We show that in the Nambu-Goldstone phase a fermion mass term,… ▽ More

Precision computation of hybrid static potentials in SU(3) lattice gauge theory
Abstract: We perform a precision computation of hybrid static potentials with quantum numbers $Λ_η^ε= Σ_g^-,Σ_u^+,Σ_u^-,Π_g,Π_u,Δ_g,Δ_u$ using SU(3) lattice gauge theory. Non-perturbative generation of elementary fermion masses: a numerical study

Extracting physics from an unphysical situation: light mesons in a small box
Abstract: Quantum Chromo Dynamics is considered in a setup where the light mesons are squeezed into unphysically small boxes. We show how such a situation can be used to determine the couplings of the low energy chiral Lagrangian from lattice simulations, applying chirally invariant formulations of lattice fermions.

Lattice Perturbation Theory
Abstract: The consideration of quantum fields defined on a spacetime lattice provides computational techniques which are invaluable for studying gauge theories nonperturbatively from first principles. Perturbation theory is an essential aspect of computations on the lattice, especially for investigating the behavior of lattice theories near the continuum limit. Particularly important is its role in connec… ▽ More

Continuum Extrapolation of Moments of Nucleon Quark Distributions in Full QCD
Abstract: Moments of light cone quark density, helicity, and transversity distributions are calculated in unquenched lattice QCD at $β= 5.5$ and $β= 5.3$ using Wilson fermions on $ 16^3 \times 32 $ lattices. These results are combined with earlier calculations at $β= 5.6$ using SESAM configurations to study the continuum limit.

Perturbative and Non-perturbative Lattice Calculations for the Study of Parton Distributions
Abstract: We discuss how lattice calculations can be a useful tool for the study of structure functions. Particular emphasis is given to the perturbative renormalization of the operators.

Moments of Nucleon Light Cone Quark Distributions Calculated in Full Lattice QCD
Abstract: Moments of the quark density, helicity, and transversity distributions are calculated in unquenched lattice QCD. Calculations of proton matrix elements of operators corresponding to these moments through the operator product expansion have been performed on $16^3 \times 32$ lattices for Wilson fermions at $β= 5.6$ using configurations from the SESAM collaboration and at $β= 5.5$ using configurat… ▽ More

Progress towards a lattice determination of (moments of) nucleon structure functions
Abstract: Using unimproved and non-perturbatively O(a) improved Wilson fermions, results are given for the three lowest moments of unpolarised nucleon structure functions. Renormalisation, chiral extrapolation and the continuum limit of the matrix elements are briefly discussed. The simulations are performed for both quenched and two flavours of unquenched fermions. No obvious sign of deviation from linea… ▽ More

Perturbative renormalization for overlap fermions
Abstract: Using lattice overlap fermions, we have computed the 1-loop renormalization factors of several operators that measure DIS structure functions and weak amplitudes. Computer codes written in the algebraic manipulation language FORM have been used. The improvement of the operators is also discussed.

Analysis of the DeltaI=1/2 Rule and e'/e with Overlap Fermions
Abstract: We study the renormalization of the DeltaS=1 effective weak Hamiltonian with overlap fermions. The mixing coefficients among dimension-six operators are computed at one loop in perturbation theory. As a consequence of the chiral symmetry at finite lattice spacing and of the GIM mechanism, which turns out to be quadratic in the masses, the K-->pi pi and K -->pi matrix elements relevant for the De… ▽ More
