Addressing the health challenges faced by the aging population, particularly undernutrition, is of paramount importance, given the significant representation of older individuals in society. Undernutrition arises from a disbalance between nutritional intake and energy expenditure, making its diagnosis crucial. Advances in technology allowed a better precision and efficiency of biomarker measurements, making it easier to detect undernutrition in the elderly. This article introduces an innovative system developed as part of the CART initiative at Toulouse University Hospital in France. This system takes a comprehensive approach to monitor health and well-being, collecting data that can provide insights, shape health outcomes, and even predict them. A key focus of this system is on identifying nutrition-related behaviors. By integrating quantitative and clinical assessments, which include biannual nutritional evaluations, as well as physical and physiological measurements like mobility and weight, this approach improves the diagnosis and prevention of undernutrition risks. It offers a more holistic perspective aligned with physiological standards. An example is given with the data collection of an elderly person followed at home for 3 months. We believe that this advance could make a significant contribution to the overall improvement of health and well-being, particularly in the elderly population.

The objective of this paper is to describe the study on speech interaction mode for home automation control of equipment by impaired people for an inclusive housing. The study is related to the HIP HOPE project concerning a building of 19 inclusive housing units. 7 participants with different types of disabilities were invited to carry out use cases using voice and touch control. Only the results obtained on the voice interaction mode through the Amazon voice assistant are reported here. The results show, according to the type of handicap, the success rates in the speech recognition of the command emitted on the equipment and highlight the errors related to the formulation, the noisy environment, the intelligible speech, the speech segmentation and the bad synchronization of the audio channel opening.

This paper presents a comparative usability study on tactile and vocal interaction modes for home automation control of equipment at home for different profiles of disabled people. The study is related to the HIP HOPE project concerning the construction of 19 inclusive housing in the Toulouse metropolitan area in France. The experimentation took place in a living lab with 7 different disabled people who realize realistic use cases. The USE and UEQ questionnaires were selected as usability tools. The first results show that both interfaces are easy to learn but that usefulness and ease of use dimensions need to be improved. This study shows that there is real need for multimodality between touch and voice interaction to control the smart home. This study also shows that there is need to adapt the interface and the environment to the person's disability.

Abstract:
For a $2$-connected graph $G$ and vertices $u,v$ of $G$ we define an abstract graph $\mathcal{P}(G_{uv})$ whose vertices are the paths joining $u$ and $v$ in $G$, where paths $S$ and $T$ are adjacent if $T$ is obtained from $S$ by replacing a subpath $S_{xy}$ of $S$ with an internally disjoint subpath $T_{xy}$ of $T$. Recently there has been an ever-increasing trend in the use of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) methods by the materials science, condensed matter physics, and chemistry communities. This perspective article identifies key scientific, technical, and social opportunities that the materials community must prioritize to consistently develop and leverage Scientific AI to provide a credible path towards the advancement of current materials-limited technologies. Here we highlight the intersections of these opportunities with a series of proposed paths forward. The opportunities are roughly sorted from scientific/technical (e.g., development of robust, physically meaningful multiscale material representations) to social (e.g., promoting an AI-ready workforce). The proposed paths forward range from develo** new infrastructure and capabilities to deploying them in industry and academia. We provide a brief introduction to AI in materials science and engineering, followed by detailed discussions of each of the opportunities and paths forward.

Abstract:
Given a tournament T, let h(T) be the smallest integer k such that every arc-coloring of T with k or more colors produces at least one out-directed spanning tree of T with no pair of arcs with the same color. In this paper we give the exact value of h(T).

Abstract:
We report on far- and mid-infrared reflectivity of NdMnO3 from 4 K to 300K. Two main features are distinguished in the infrared spectra: active phonons in agreement with the expected for orthorhombic D2h 16-Pbnm (Z=4) space group remaining constant down to 4 K and a well-defined collective excitation in the THz region due to eg electrons in a d-orbital fluctuating environment. We trace its origin to the NdMnO3 high temperature orbital disordered intermediate phase not being totally dynamically quenched at lower temperatures. This results in minute orbital misalignments that translate in randomize non-static eg electrons within orbitals yielding a room temperature collective excitation. Below TN~78 K, electrons gradually localize inducing long-range magnetic order as the THz band condenses into two modes that emerge pinned to the A-type antiferromagmetic order. They harden simultaneously down to 4 K obeying power laws with TN as the critical temperature and exponents β~0.25 and β~0.53, as for a tri-critical point and Landau magnetic ordering, respectively. At 4K they match known zone center spin wave modes. The power law dependence is concomitant with a second order transition in which spin modes modulate orbital instabilities in a magnetoelectric hybridized orbital/charge/spin/lattice scenario. We also found that phonon profiles also undergo strong changes at TN~78 K due to magnetoelasticity.

Control/command processes require a transmission system with some characteristics like high reliability, low latency and strong guarantees on messages delivery. Concerning wire networks, field buses technologies like FIP offer this kind of service (periodic tasks, real time constraints...). Unfortunately, few wireless technologies can propose a communication system which respects such constraints. Indeed, wireless transmissions must deal with medium characteristics which make impossible the direct translation of mechanisms used with wire networks. The purpose of this paper is to present an original Medium Access Control (MAC) layer for a real time Low Power-Wireless Personal Area Network (LP-WPAN). The proposed MAC-layer has been validated by several complementary methods; in this paper, we focus on the specific Simultaneous Guaranteed Time Slot (SGTS) part.

Today, many network applications require shorter react time. Robotic field is an excellent example of these needs: robot react time has a direct effect on its task's complexity. Here, we propose a full deterministic medium access method for a wireless robotic application. This contribution is based on some low-power wireless personal area networks, like ZigBee standard. Indeed, ZigBee has identified limits with Quality of Service due to non-determinist medium access and probable collisions during medium reservation requests. In this paper, two major improvements are proposed: an efficient polling of the star nodes and a temporal deterministic distribution of peer-to-peer messages. This new MAC protocol with no collision offers some QoS faculties.
