Transferrable AlGaN/GaN HEMTs to Arbitrary Substrates via a Two-dimensional Boron Nitride Release Layer
Abstract: Mechanical transfer of high performing thin film devices onto arbitrary substrates represents an exciting opportunity to improve device performance, explore non-traditional manufacturing approaches, and paves the way for soft, conformal, and flexible electronics. Using a two-dimensional (2D) boron nitride (BN) release layer, we demonstrate the transfer of AlGaN/GaN high-electron mobility transisto… ▽ More

Quadrupole and Hexadecapole Correlations in Rotating Nuclei Studied within the Single-j Shell Model
Abstract: The influence of quadrupole and hexadecapole residual interactions on rotational bands is investigated in a single-j shell model. An exact shell-model diagonalization of quadrupole-plus-hexadecapole interaction can sometimes produce a staggering of energy levels in the yrast bands.

The Delta I=4 Bifurcation in Superdeformed Bands
Abstract: The origin of the Delta I=4 staggering effect which has recently been observed in several superdeformed bands is discussed. The Hamamoto and Mottelson model, which is based on a phenomenological parametrization of the hamiltonian as a quartic function of angular momentum, is analyzed. A stability of the description with respect to the C_4 - symmetry breaking terms is studied.

Quadrupole Collective States in a Large Single-J Shell
Abstract: We discuss the ability of the generator coordinate method (GCM) to select collective states in microscopic calculations. The model studied is a single-$j$ shell with hamiltonian containing the quadrupole-quadrupole interaction. Quadrupole collective excitations are constructed by means of the quadrupole single-particle operator. Lowest collective bands for $j$=31/2 and particle numbers $N$=4,6,8… ▽ More

Hexadecapole Interaction and the Delta I=4 Staggering Effect in Rotational Bands
Abstract: A role of the multipole interaction in the description of the $\triangle I$=4 staggering phenomenon is investigated in a model consisting of a single-$j$ shell filled by identical nucleons. Exact diagonalization of the quadrupole-plus-hexadecapole Hamiltonian shows that the hexadecapole-hexadecapole interaction can produce a $\triangle I$=4 periodicity in the yrast sequence.
