Based on the analysis of the associative production of mediators and τ -leptons at the energies of the future collider, the possibility of searching in the non-excluded region of the parameter space was found. The obtained sensitivity curves at the 90% C.L. for the mediators mass range below 4 GeV demonstrate the power of the SCTF for light dark matter search.

The Effective Field Theory (EFT) approach is widely used in the search for possible deviations from the predictions of the Standard Model. Such an approximation of possible BSM physics is valid up to a certain levels of energy scale and accuracy. In this article, we investigate potential limitation of the EFT approach related to unitarity to describe possible contributions of flavor changing neutral currents (FCNC) involving the top quark. The numerical and analytical calculations of the FCNC processes used in the EFT approach demonstrate the constant asymptotic behavior of the total cross section with increasing energy. It is shown that the EFT approach for studying the possible contribution of FCNC does not violate the restrictions following from perturbative unitarity, the asymptotic behavior of the cross section does not exceed the Froissart bound, and the approach itself can be used to set the corresponding experimental limits for FCNC couplings or Wilson coefficients at present and future colliders.

It is shown that in the simplest variant of the model, where only the gravitational degrees of freedom propagate in the bulk, the production cross section of the radion-dominated state with mass 750 GeV turns out to be too small in the allowed region of the model parameter space for explaining the nature of the excess in this approach.

We discuss the specificity of searches for hypothetical $W^{\prime}$, $Z^{\prime}$ and $γ^{\prime}$ bosons at hadron colliders in single top quark and $μ^{+}ν_μ$ production and Drell-Yan processes assuming these particles to be the Kaluza-Klein excitations of the gauge bosons of the Standard Model. In this case any process mediated by $W$ is also mediated by the whole KK tower of its excitations, whereas to the processes mediated by $Z$ and $γ$ there is not only a contribution from their KK towers, but also from that of the graviton. The contributions of the towers above $W^{\prime}$, $Z^{\prime}$ and $γ^{\prime}$ and above the first excitation of the graviton are included with the help of effective four-fermion Lagrangians. We compute the cross-sections of these processes taking into account the contributions of the Standard Model gauge bosons, of their first KK modes and of the corresponding KK towers and discuss the impact of the interference between them. For pp-collisions at the LHC with the center of mass energy 14 TeV we found specific changes of the distribution tails due to the interference effects. Such a modification of distribution tails is characteristic for the processes mediated by particles coming from extra dimensions and should always be taken into account when looking for them.

We consider a stabilized RS1 model in the energy range below the direct production of KK states. In this range we work out the effective Lagrangian due to exchange of heavy KK tensor graviton and scalar radion states and compute explicitly the corresponding effective coupling constants. As an example, the Drell-Yan lepton pair production at the Tevatron and the LHC is analyzed in two situations, when the first KK resonance is too heavy to be directly detected at the colliders, and when the first KK resonance is visible but other states are still too heavy. It is shown that in both cases the contribution from the KK invisible tower leads to a modification of final particles distributions. In particular, for the second case a nontrivial interference between the first KK mode and the rest KK tower takes place. Expected 95% CL limits for model parameters for the Tevatron and the LHC are given. In the Appendix useful formulas for the cross sections and distributions of various new $2\to2$ processes via heavy KK tower exchange are presented, the new formulas containing nonzero particle masses for final state fermions and bosons. The formulas and numerical results are obtained by means of the CompHEP code, in which all new effective interactions are implemented providing a tool for simulation of corresponding events and a more detailed analysis.

The top quark and electroweak bosons (W and Z) represent the most massive fundamental particles yet discovered, and as such refer directly to the Standard Model's greatest remaining mystery: the mechanism by which all particles gained mass. This report summarizes the work done within the top-ew group of the Tevatron-for-LHC workshop. It represents a collection of both Tevatron results, and LHC predictions. The hope is that by considering and comparing both machines, the LHC program can be improved and aided by knowledge from the Tevatron, and that particle physics as a whole can be enriched. The report includes measurements of the top quark mass, searches for single top quark production, and physics of the electroweak bosons at hadron colliders.

This Report summarises the activities of the "SM and Higgs" working group for the Workshop "Physics at TeV Colliders", Les Houches, France, 2-20 May, 2005. On the one hand, we performed a variety of experimental and theoretical studies on standard candles (such as W, Z, and ttbar production), treating them either as proper signals of known physics, or as backgrounds to unknown physics; we also addressed issues relevant to those non-perturbative or semi-perturbative ingredients, such as Parton Density Functions and Underlying Events, whose understanding will be crucial for a proper simulation of the actual events taking place in the detectors. On the other hand, several channels for the production of the Higgs, or involving the Higgs, have been considered in some detail. The report is structured into four main parts. The first one deals with Standard Model physics, except the Higgs. A variety of arguments are treated here, from full simulation of processes constituting a background to Higgs production, to studies of uncertainties due to PDFs and to extrapolations of models for underlying events, from small-$x$ issues to electroweak corrections which may play a role in vector boson physics. The second part of the report treats Higgs physics from the point of view of the signal. In the third part, reviews are presented on the current status of multi-leg, next-to-leading order and of next-to-next-to-leading order QCD computations. Finally, the fourth part deals with the use of Monte Carlos for simulation of LHC physics.
