We compute the electrical conductivity of the strongly interacting medium in the presence of strong magnetic background fields, $eB=4,9~GeV^2$, and for different values of the temperature, both in the confined and in the deconfined Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) phase. The conductivity is obtained from the Euclidean lattice time correlator of the electrical current, computed on gauge configurations sampled from Monte-Carlo simulations of an improved staggered discretization of $N_f = 2+1$ QCD. We perform the inverse Laplace transform of the correlator adopting a recently-proposed version of the standard Backus--Gilbert procedure for the inversion. The results obtained in the QGP phase show a sizable enhancement of the conductivity in the direction parallel to the magnetic field, as well as a suppression in the direction orthogonal to it. Such enhancement could be attributed to the manifestation of the Chiral Magnetic Effect (CME): following this guess, we extract the behaviour of the relaxation time of this process, extrapolate it to the continuum limit and compare it to previous results, finding it lower than expected in the explored range of temperatures.

This paper is devoted to the study of QCD equation of state in external magnetic field and nonzero baryon density. Our study is carried out by means of lattice simulation with 2+1 dynamical staggered quarks at the physical masses. The simulation is conducted at imaginary baryon chemical potential what allowed us to overcome the sign problem. We expand the pressure in the baryon imaginary chemical potential and study three leading nonzero coefficients in this expansion. These coefficients were calculated for the following values of magnetic field: $eB=0.3$, $0.6$, $1.2$ GeV$^2$ with the lattice sizes $8\times32^3$, $10\times40^3$, $12\times48^3$. Using these data we take continuum limit for the coefficients. Our results indicate considerable enhancement of the expansion coefficients by the magnetic field.

This mixed phase simultaneously possesses both confining and deconfining phases in thermal equilibrium. Unexpectedly, the local critical temperature of the phase transition at the rotation axis does not depend on the angular frequency within a few percent accuracy. Even more surprisingly, an analytic continuation of our results to the domain of real angular frequencies indicates a profound breaking of the Tolman-Ehrenfest law in the vicinity of the phase transition, with the confining (deconfining) phase appearing far (near) the rotation axis.

Using lattice simulations, we analyze the influence of uniform rotation on the equation of state of gluodynamics. For a sufficiently slow rotation, the free energy of the system can be expanded into a series of powers of angular velocity. We calculate the moment of inertia given by the quadratic coefficient of this expansion using both analytic continuation and derivative methods, which demonstrate a good agreement between the results. We find that the moment of inertia unexpectedly takes a negative value below the ``supervortical temperature'' $T_s = 1.50(10) T_c$, vanishes at $T = T_s$, and becomes a positive quantity at higher temperatures. We discuss how our results are related to the scale anomaly and the magnetic gluon condensate. We point out that the negativity of the moment of inertia is in qualitative agreement with our previous lattice calculations, indicating that the rigid rotation increases the critical temperatures in gluodynamics and QCD.

We discuss the negativity of the moment of inertia of (quark-)gluon plasma in a window of "supervortical" range of temperatures above the deconfining phase transition, $T \simeq (1\dots 1.5) T_c $ found recently in numerical Monte Carlo simulations by two independent methods. In our work, we confirm numerically that the origin of this effect is rooted in the thermal evaporation of the non-perturbative chromomagnetic condensate. We argue that the negative moment of inertia of gluon plasma indicates the presence of a novel effect, the negative spin-vortical coupling for gluons resulting in a negative gluonic Barnett effect: the spin polarization of gluons exceeds the total angular momentum of rotating plasma thus forcing the orbital angular momentum to take negative values in the supervortical range of temperatures.

The negative moment of inertia indicates a thermodynamic instability of rigid rotation. We derive the condition of thermodynamic stability of the vortical plasma and show how it relates to the scale anomaly and the magnetic gluon condensate. The rotational instability of gluon plasma shares a striking similarity with the rotational instabilities of spinning Kerr and Myers-Perry black holes.

Relativistic rotation causes a change of QCD critical temperatures. Various phenomenological and effective models predict a decrease of the critical temperatures in rotating QCD. Nevertheless, lattice simulations showed that the critical temperature in gluodynamics increases due to rotation. We extend the lattice study to the theory with dynamical fermions. We present the first lattice results for rotating QCD with $N_f=2$ dynamical clover-improved Wilson quarks. We also study separately the effect of rotation on gluonic and fermionic degrees of freedom. It is shown that separate rotations of gluons and fermions have opposite effects on the critical temperatures. In aggregate, the pseudo-critical temperatures in QCD increase with angular velocity. Dependence of the results on the pion mass is also discussed.

The Polyakov loop and its susceptibility are calculated for various lattice parameters and values of angular velocities which are characteristic for heavy-ion collision experiments. Different types of boundary conditions (open, periodic, Dirichlet) are imposed in directions, orthogonal to rotation axis. It is shown, that the critical temperature of the confinement/deconfinement transition in gluodynamics grows quadratically with increasing angular velocity. This conclusion does not depend on the boundary conditions used in our study and we believe that this is universal property of gluodynamics. We also present first results of the study of the phase diagram of rotating QCD matter with fermions. The results indicate, that effect of the rotation on fermions is opposite to gluons: it leads to the decrease of the critical temperature.

We perform the simulation in the reference frame which rotates with the system under investigation, where rotation is reduced to external gravitational field. To study the confinement/deconfinement transition the Polyakov loop and its susceptibility are calculated for various lattice parameters and the values of angular velocities which are characteristic for heavy-ion collision experiments. Different types of boundary conditions (open, periodic, Dirichlet) are imposed in directions, orthogonal to rotation axis. Our data for the critical temperature are well described by a simple quadratic function $T_c(Ω)/T_c(0) = 1 + C_2 Ω^2$ with $C_2>0$ for all boundary conditions and all lattice parameters used in the simulations. From this we conclude that the critical temperature of the confinement/deconfinement transition in gluodynamics increases with increasing angular velocity. This conclusion does not depend on the boundary conditions used in our study and we believe that this is universal property of gluodynamics.

In this paper we study thermodynamic properties of dense cold $SU(2)$ QCD within lattice simulation with dynamical rooted staggered quarks which in the continuum limit correspond to $N_f=2$ quark flavours. We calculate baryon density, renormalized chiral and diquark condensates for various baryon chemical potentials in the region $μ\in (0,\,2000)$ MeV. It is found, that in the region $μ\in (0,\,540)$ MeV the system is well described by the ChPT predictions. In the region $μ> 540$ MeV the system becomes sufficiently dense and ChPT is no longer applicable to describe lattice data. For chemical potentials $μ> 900$ MeV we observe formation of the Fermi sphere, and the system is similar to the one described by the Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer theory where the the diquarks play a role of Cooper pairs. In order to study how nonzero baryon density influences the gluon background we calculate chromoelectric and chromomagnetic fields, as well as the topological susceptibility. We find that the chromoelectric field and the topological susceptibility decrease, whereas the chromomagnetic field increases with rising of baryon chemical potential. Finally we study the equation of state of dense two-color quark matter.

The transverse and longitudinal gluon propagators in the Landau gauge are studied in the two-color lattice QCD at nonzero quark chemical potential $μ_q$. Parameterization of the momentum dependence of the propagators is provided for all values of chemical potential under study. We find that the longitudinal propagator is infrared suppressed at nonzero $μ_q$ with suppression increasing with increasing $μ_q$. The transverse propagator dependence on $μ_q$ was found to be opposite: it is enhanced at large $μ_q$. It is found, respectively, that the electric screening mass is increasing while the magnetic screening mass is decreasing with increasing $μ_q$. Nice agreement between the electric screening mass computed from the longitudinal propagator and the Debye mass computed earlier from the singlet static quark-antiquark potential was found. We discuss how the dependence of the propagators on the chemical potential correlates with the respective dependence of the string tension. Additionally, we consider the difference between two propagators as a function of the momentum and make interesting observations.

Using numerical simulations of lattice QCD with physical quark masses, we reveal the influence of magnetic-field background on chiral and deconfinement crossovers in finite-temperature QCD at low baryonic density. In the absence of thermodynamic singularity, we identify these transitions with inflection points of the approximate order parameters: normalized light-quark condensate and renormalized Polyakov loop, respectively. We show that the quadratic curvature of the chiral transition temperature in the ``temperature--chemical potential'' plane depends rather weakly on the strength of the background magnetic field. At weak magnetic fields, the thermal width of the chiral crossover gets narrower as the density of the baryon matter increases, possibly indicating a proximity to a real thermodynamic phase transition. Remarkably, the curvature of the chiral thermal width flips its sign at $eB_{\mathrm{fl}} \simeq 0.6\,\mathrm{GeV}^2$, so that above the flip** point $B > B_{\mathrm{fl}}$, the chiral width gets wider as the baryon density increases. Approximately at the same strength of magnetic field, the chiral and deconfining crossovers merge together at $T \approx 140\,\mathrm{MeV}$. The phase diagram in the parameter space ``temperature-chemical potential-magnetic field'' is outlined, and single-quark entropy and single-quark magnetization are explored. The curvature of the chiral thermal width allows us to estimate an approximate position of the chiral critical endpoint at zero magnetic field: $(T_c^{\text{CEP}}, μ_B^{\text{CEP}})= (100(25)\, \text{MeV},\ 800(140)\,\text{MeV})$.

We first check that $ρ_5$ is generated at nonzero $μ_5$ and in the chiral limit observe $ρ_5 \sim Λ_{QCD}^2 μ_5$. We also test the possible connection between confinement and topological fluctuations. To this end, we measured the topological susceptibility $χ_{\mbox{\footnotesize top}}$ and string tension $σ$ for various values of $μ_5$. We observed that both string tension and chiral susceptibility grow with $μ_5$ and there is a strong correlation between these quantities. We thus conclude that the chiral chemical potential enhances topological fluctuations and that these fluctuations can indeed be closely related to the strength of confinement.

In this paper we study the interactions among a static quark-antiquark pair in the presence of dense two-color quark matter with lattice simulation. To this end we compute Polyakov line correlation functions and determine the renormalized color averaged, color singlet and color triplet grand potentials. The color singlet grand potential allows us to elucidate the number of quarks induced by a static quark antiquark source, as well as the internal energy of such a pair in dense quark matter. We furthermore determine the screening length, which in the confinement phase is synonymous with the string breaking distance. The screening length is a decreasing function of baryon density, due to the possibility to break the interquark string via a scalar diquark condensate at high density. We also study the large distance properties of the color singlet grand potential in a dense medium and find that it is well described by a simple Debye screening formula, parameterized by a Debye mass and an effective coupling constant. The latter is of order of unity, i.e. even at large density two-color quark matter is a strongly correlated system.

In this paper we study the confinement/deconfinement transition in lattice $SU(2)$ QCD at finite quark density and zero temperature. The simulations are performed on an $32^4$ lattice with rooted staggered fermions at a lattice spacing $a = 0.044 \mathrm{~fm}$. This small lattice spacing allowed us to reach very large baryon density (up to quark chemical potential $μ_q > 2000 \mathrm{~MeV}$) avoiding strong lattice artifacts. In the region $μ_q\sim 1000 \mathrm{~MeV}$ we observe for the first time the confinement/deconfinement transition which manifests itself in rising of the Polyakov loop and vanishing of the string tension $σ$. After the deconfinement is achieved at $μ_q > 1000 \mathrm{~MeV}$, we observe a monotonous decrease of the spatial string tension $σ_s$ which ends up with $σ_s$ vanishing at $μ_q > 2000 \mathrm{~MeV}$. From this observation we draw the conclusion that the confinement/deconfinement transition at finite density and zero temperature is quite different from that at finite temperature and zero density. Our results indicate that in very dense matter the quark-gluon plasma is in essence a weakly interacting gas of quarks and gluons without a magnetic screening mass in the system, sharply different from a quark-gluon plasma at large temperature.

We calculated the dielectric permittivity of suspended graphene for the set of temperatures and extrapolated our results to zero temperature. The dielectric permittivity at zero temperature has the following properties. At zero distance $ε=2.24\pm0.02$. Then it rises and at a large distance the dielectric permittivity reaches the plateau $ε\simeq4.20\pm0.66$. The results obtained in this paper allow to draw a conclusion that full account of many-body effects in the dielectric permittivity of suspended graphene gives $ε$ very close to the one-loop results. Contrary to the one-loop result, the two-loop prediction for the dielectric permittivity deviates from our result. So, one can expect large higher order corrections to the two-loop prediction for the dielectric permittivity of suspended graphene.

In this paper Chiral Magnetic Effect (CME) in Dirac semimetals is studied by means of lattice Monte Carlo simulation. We measure conductivity of Dirac semimetals as a function of external magnetic field in parallel $σ_{\parallel}$ and perpendicular $σ_{\perp}$ to the external field directions. The simulations are carried out in three regimes: semimetal phase, onset of the insulator phase and deep in the insulator phase. In the semimetal phase $σ_{\parallel}$ grows whereas $σ_{\perp}$ drops with magnetic field. Similar behaviour was observed in the onset of the insulator phase but conductivity is smaller and its dependence on magnetic field is weaker. Finally in the insulator phase conductivities $σ_{\parallel, \perp}$ are close to zero and do not depend on magnetic field. In other words, we observe manifestation of the CME current in the semimetal phase, weaker manifestation of the CME in the onset of the insulator phase. We do not observe signatures of CME in the insulator phase. We believe that the suppression of the CME current in the insulator phase is connected to chiral symmetry breaking and generation of dynamical fermion mass which take place in this phase.

In this paper the observed Dirac semimetals Na$_3$Bi and Cd$_3$As$_2$ are studied within lattice simulation. We formulate lattice field theory with rooted staggered fermions on anisotropic lattice. It is shown that in the limit of zero temporal lattice spacing this theory reproduces low energy effective theory of Dirac semimetals. Using this lattice theory we study the phase diagram of Dirac semimetals in the plane effective coupling constant--Fermi velocity anisotropy. Within the formulated theory the results are practically volume independent in contrast with our previous study. Our results confirm our previous finding that within the Dirac model with bare Coulomb interaction both Na$_3$Bi and Cd$_3$As$_2$ lie deep in the insulator phase.

In this paper the phase diagram of Dirac semimetals is studied within lattice Monte-Carlo simulation. In particular, we concentrate on the dynamical chiral symmetry breaking which results in semimetal/insulator transition. Using numerical simulation we determined the values of the critical coupling constant of the semimetal/insulator transition for different values of the anisotropy of the Fermi velocity. This measurement allowed us to draw tentative phase diagram for Dirac semimetals. It turns out that within the Dirac model with Coulomb interaction both Na$_3$Bi and Cd$_3$As$_2$ known experimentally to be Dirac semimetals would lie deeply in the insulating region of the phase diagram. It probably shows a decisive role of screening of the interelectron interaction in real materials, similar to the situation in graphene.

In this paper we carry out a low-temperature scan of the phase diagram of dense two-color QCD with $N_f=2$ quarks. The study is conducted using lattice simulation with rooted staggered quarks. At small chemical potential we observe the hadronic phase, where the theory is in a confining state, chiral symmetry is broken, the baryon density is zero and there is no diquark condensate. At the critical point $μ= m_π/2$ we observe the expected second order transition to Bose-Einstein condensation of scalar diquarks. In this phase the system is still in confinement in conjunction with non-zero baryon density, but the chiral symmetry is restored in the chiral limit. We have also found that in the first two phases the system is well described by chiral perturbation theory. For larger values of the chemical potential the system turns into another phase, where the relevant degrees of freedom are fermions residing inside the Fermi sphere, and the diquark condensation takes place on the Fermi surface. In this phase the system is still in confinement, chiral symmetry is restored and the system is very similar to the quarkyonic state predicted by SU($N_c$) theory at large $N_c$.

Optical conductivity of graphene is studied using Quantum Monte Carlo calculations. We start from Euclidean current-current correlator and extract $σ(ω)$ from Green-Kubo relations using Backus-Gilbert method. Calculations were performed both for long-range interactions and taking into account only contact term. In both cases we vary interaction strength and study its influence on optical conductivity. We compare our results with previous theoretical calculations choosing $ω\approx κ$ thus working in the region of the plateau in $σ(ω)$ which corresponds to optical conductivity of Dirac quasiparticles. No dependence of optical conductivity on interaction strength is observed unless we approach antiferromagnetic phase transition in case of artificially enhanced contact term. Our results strongly support previous theoretical studies claimed very weak regularization of graphene conductivity.

In this paper we study the properties of media with chiral imbalance parameterized by chiral chemical potential. It is shown that depending on the strength of interaction between constituents in the media the chiral chemical potential either creates or enhances dynamical chiral symmetry breaking. Thus the chiral chemical potential plays a role of the catalyst of dynamical chiral symmetry breaking. Physically this effect results from the appearance of the Fermi surface and additional fermion states on this surface which take part in dynamical chiral symmetry breaking. An interesting conclusion which can be drawn is that at sufficiently small temperature chiral plasma is unstable with respect to condensation of Cooper pairs and dynamical chiral symmetry breaking even for vanishingly small interactions between constituents.

The numerical simulations are performed in the effective lattice field theory with noncompact $3 + 1$-dimensional Abelian lattice gauge fields and $2 + 1$-dimensional staggered lattice fermions. It is shown that for all considered temperatures the interaction can be well described by the Debye screened potential created by two-dimensional electron-hole excitations. At low temperatures Debye mass $m_D$ plays a role of order parameter of the insulator-semimetal phase transition. In the semimetal phase at high temperature graphene reveals the properties of weakly interacting two-dimensional plasma of fermions excitations.

In the background of the strong magnetic field the vacuum is suggested to possess an electromagnetically superconducting phase characterised by the emergence of inhomogeneous quark-antiquark vector condensates which carry quantum numbers of the charged rho mesons. The rho-meson condensates are inhomogeneous due to the presence of the stringlike defects ("the rho vortices") which are parallel to the magnetic field (the superconducting vacuum phase is similar to the mixed Abrikosov phase of a type-II superconductor). In agreement with these expectations, we have observed the presence of the rho vortices in numerical simulations of the vacuum of the quenched two-color lattice QCD in strong magnetic field background. We have found that in the quenched QCD the rho vortices form a liquid. The transition between the usual (insulator) phase at low B and the superconducting vortex liquid phase at high B turns out to be very smooth, at least in the quenched QCD.

From this one can conclude that the system of Abelian monopoles in QGP reveals the properties of a dilute gas. In addition, one can assert that the interaction between Abelian monopoles is a pair interaction and there are no three-particle forces acting between monopoles.

To remove effects of Gribov copies the simulated annealing algorithm is applied to fix the maximally abelian gauge. Computing the density of the thermal abelian monopoles in the temperature range between 1.5T_c and 6.9T_c we show, by comparison with earlier results, that the Gribov copies effects might be as high as 20% making proper gauge fixing mandatory. We find that in the infinite temperature limit the monopole density converges to its value in 3-dimensional theory. To study the interaction between monopoles we calculate the monopole-monopole and monopole-antimonopole correlators at different temperatures in the region (1.5T_c, 6.9T_c). To remove effects of Gribov copies the simulated annealing algorithm is applied to fix the maximally Abelian gauge. To study monopole profile we complete the first computations of excess of the nonabelian action density as a function of the distance from the center of the thermal Abelian monopole. We have found that starting from the distances $\approx$ 2 lattice spacings the chromoelectric and chromomagnetic action densities created by monopole are equal to each other, from what we draw a conclusion that monopole is a dyon. We study some properties of the non-Abelian vacuum induced by strong external magnetic field. We perform calculations in the quenched SU(3) lattice gauge theory with tadpole-improved Luscher-Weisz action and chirally invariant lattice Dirac operator. The following results are obtained: The chiral symmetry breaking is enhanced by the magnetic field. The chiral condensate depends on the strength of the applied field as a power function with exponent n = 1.6 +/- 0.2. There is a paramagnetic polarization of the vacuum. The corresponding susceptibility and other magnetic properties are calculated and compared with the theoretical estimations. There are non-zero local fluctuations of the chirality and electromagnetic current, which grow with the magnetic field strength. Abstract:
In this paper the cross sections of the processes $e^+ e^- \to H+γ, H=η_c, η_c', χ_{c0}, χ_{c1}, χ_{c2}$ are calculated. The calculation is carried out at the leading twist approximation of light cone formalism. Within this approach the leading logarithmic radiative and relativistic corrections to the amplitudes are resumed. For the processes $e^+ e^- \to η_c, η_c'+γ$ one loop radiative correction…

For the processes $e^+ e^- \to η_c, η_c'+γ$ one loop radiative corrections are taken into account. It is also shown that one loop leading logarithmic radiative corrections calculated within light cone formalism for the processes under study coincide with that obtained by direct calculations of one loop diagrams within nonrelativistic QCD.

Mass of nonrelativistic meson from leading twist distribution amplitudes
Authors:
V. V. Braguta
Abstract:
In this paper distribution amplitudes of pseudoscalar and vector nonrelativistic mesons are considered. Using equations of motion for the distribution amplitudes, it is derived relations which allow one to calculate the masses of nonrelativistic pseudoscalar and vector meson if the leading twist distribution amplitudes are known. These relations can be also rewritten as relations between the mas…

Using equations of motion for the distribution amplitudes, it is derived relations which allow one to calculate the masses of nonrelativistic pseudoscalar and vector meson if the leading twist distribution amplitudes are known. These relations can be also rewritten as relations between the masses of nonrelativistic mesons and infinite series of QCD operators, what can be considered as an exact version of Gremm-Kapustin relation in NRQCD.

Abstract:
The decays of pseudoscalar bottomonium eta_b into a pair of vector charmonia, J/ψJ/ψ, J/ψψ', ψ' ψ' are considered in the light cone formalism. Relativistic and leading logarithmic radiative corrections to the amplitudes of these processes are resummed. It is shown that the small value for the branching ratio of the decay eta_b-> J/ψJ/ψobtained within the leading order nonrelativistic QCD is a co…

Relativistic and leading logarithmic radiative corrections to the amplitudes of these processes are resummed. It is shown that the small value for the branching ratio of the decay eta_b-> J/ψJ/ψobtained within the leading order nonrelativistic QCD is a consequence of a fine-tuning between certain parameters, which is broken when relativistic and leading logarithmic radiative corrections are taken into account. As a result, the branching ratio obtained in this paper is enhanced by an order of magnitude.

Abstract:
This paper is devoted to the leading twist exclusive bottomonia decays with double charmonium in the final state. Using models of the twist-2 charmonia distribution amplitudes the widths of these decays are calculated within light cone formalism. In addition, the processes under consideration are studied within nonrelativistic QCD. In our analysis we have found that the production of some of the…

Using models of the twist-2 charmonia distribution amplitudes the widths of these decays are calculated within light cone formalism. In addition, the processes under consideration are studied within nonrelativistic QCD. In our analysis we have found that the production of some of the $P$-wave charmonia mesons with $L_z \neq 0$ is allowed already at the leading twist approximation. This means that the selection rules which predict the suppression of such decays are violated. The mechanism which lies behind this violation is discussed.

It is shown that if one disregards the contribution of higher fock states, the twist-3 distribution amplitudes needed in the calculation can be unambiguously determined from the twist-2 distribution amplitudes and equations of motion. Using models of the twist-2 distribution amplitudes the cross sections of the processes under study have been calculated. The results of the calculation are in agreement with Belle and BaBar experiments. It is also shown that relativistic and radiative corrections to the cross sections play crucial role in the achievement of the agreement between the theory and experiments. The comparison of the results of this paper with the results obtained in other papers has been carried out. In particular, it is shown that the results of papers where relativistic and radiative corrections were calculated within NRQCD are overestimated by a factor of ~1.5.

This paper is devoted to the study of the leading twist distribution amplitudes of P-wave nonrelativistic mesons. It is shown that at the leading order approximation in relative velocity of quark-antiquark pair inside the mesons these distribution amplitudes can be expressed through one universal function. As an example, the distribution amplitudes of the P-wave charmonia mesons are considered. Within QCD sum rules the model for the universal function of P-wave charmonia mesons is built. In addition, it is found the relations between the moments of the universal function and the nonrelativistic QCD matrix elements that control relativistic corrections to any amplitude involving P-wave charmonia. Our calculation shows that characteristic size of these corrections is of order of ~30 %.
