We perform a complete classification of the consistent two-derivative cubic couplings for a system containing an arbitrary number of massless spin-1, massless spin-2, and partially massless (PM) spin-2 fields in $D$-dimensional (anti-)de Sitter space. In addition to previously known results, we find a unique candidate mixing between spin-1 and PM spin-2 fields. We derive all the quadratic constraints on the structure constants of the theory, allowing for relative ``wrong-sign'' kinetic terms for any of the fields. In the particular case when the kinetic terms in each sector have no relative signs, we find that the unique consistent non-trivial theory is given by multiple independent copies of conformal gravity coupled to a Yang-Mills sector in $D=4$. Our results strengthen the well-known no-go theorems on the absence of mutual interactions for massless and PM spin-2 fields.

The two-thirds power law is a link between angular speed $ω$ and curvature $κ$ observed in voluntary human movements: $ω$ is proportional to $κ^{2/3}$. Squared jerk is known to be a Lagrangian leading to the latter law. We propose that a broader class of higher-derivative Lagrangians leads to the two-thirds power law and we perform the Hamiltonian analysis leading to action-angle variables through Ostrogradski's procedure. In this framework, squared jerk appears as an action variable and its minimization may be related to power expenditure minimization during motion. The identified higher-derivative Lagrangians are therefore natural candidates for cost functions, i.e. movement functions that are targeted to be minimal when one individual performs a voluntary movement.

Here, we report on the synthesis of polycrystalline NiO fabricated using spray-pyrolysis technique, which is a deposition technique able to produce quite uniform films of pure and crystalline materials without the need of high vacuum or inert atmospheres. We then characterized the composition and structure of our NiO thin films using X-ray diffraction, and atomic force and scanning electron microscopies, respectively. We completed our study by looking at the phononic and magnonic properties of our NiO thin films via Raman spectroscopy, and at the ultrafast electron dynamics by using optical pump probe spectroscopy. We found that our NiO samples display the same phononic and magnonic dispersion expected for single crystal NiO at room temperature, and that electron dynamics in our system is similar to those of previously reported NiO mono- and poli-crystalline systems synthesized with different techniques. These results prove that spray-pyrolysis can be used as affordable and large-scale fabrication technique to synthetize strongly correlated materials for a large set of applications.

In the spin-two case, we recover a dual reformulation of the triplet system already known, while the higher-spin systems that we obtain seem to be new. They are associated with wild quivers. We study in which situations these exotic (or strange) higher-spin models can be extended to dS${}_3$ and AdS${}_3$ backgrounds, revealing that the flat limit of such models, when they exist, admits a one-parameter freedom. Interactions are studied in the simplest higher-spin case featuring spin-2 and spin-3 fields. We then give several higher-spin generalisations of these strange systems.

The associated curvatures, however, do not reproduce upon linearisation those that are usually employed to formulate the equations of motion of free massless particles in Minkowski space. We propose a systematic generating procedure to construct free Lagrangians for massive, massless and partially massless, totally-symmetric tensor fields on $AdS_{d+1}$ starting from the BRST Lagrangian description of massless fields in the flat ambient space $\mathbb{R}^{d,2}$. A novelty is that the Lagrangian is described by a $d+1$ form on $\mathbb{R}^{d,2}$ whose pullback to $AdS_{d+1}$ gives the genuine Lagrangian defined on anti de Sitter spacetime. Our derivation uses the triplet formulation originating from the first-quantized BRST approach, where the action principle is determined by the BRST operator and the inner product of a first-quantised system. In this way we build, in a manifestly $so(2,d)$-covariant manner, a unifying action principle for the three types of fields mentioned above. In particular, our derivation justifies the form of some actions proposed earlier for massive and massless fields on AdS. We also give a general setup for ambient Lagrangians in terms of the respective jet-bundles and variational bi-complexes. In particular we introduce a suitable ambient-space Euler-Lagrange differential which allows to derive the equation of motion ambiently, i.e. without the need to explicitly derive the respective spacetime Lagrangian.

The effective dynamics of the body's centre-of-mass during human walking is expected to represent such a stochastically perturbed dynamical system. By studying, in phase space, the vertical motion of the body's centre-of-mass of 25 healthy participants walking for 10-minutes at spontaneous speed, we show that the distribution of the adiabatic invariant is compatible with the solution of a Fokker-Planck equation with constant diffusion coefficient. The latter distribution appears to be a promising new tool for studying the long-range kinematic variability of walking.

One of the key aspects of Higher Spin Gravity/Symmetry is the range and diversity of topics it embraces: (a) higher spin fields play a role in quantum gravity, AdS/CFT, string theory and are expected to have important consequences in cosmology and black hole physics; (b) higher spin symmetry finds applications in Conformal Field Theories, condensed matter systems and dualities therein; (c) these models often rely on tools developed in the study of the mathematical foundations of QFT or in pure mathematics: from deformation quantization and non-commutative geometry to conformal geometry, graded geometry (including BV-BRST quantization), and geometry of PDEs. Recent exciting applications also involve (d) modelling the coalescence of black hole binaries as scattering of massive higher spin particles.

We first quantize the action proposed by Casalbuoni and Gomis in [Phys. Rev. D \textbf{90}, 026001 (2014)], an action that describes two massless relativistic scalar particles interacting via a conformally invariant potential. The spectrum is a continuum of massive states that may be interpreted as unparticles. We then obtain in a similar way the mass operator for a deformed action in which two terms are introduced that break the conformal symmetry: a mass term and an extra position-dependent coupling constant. A simple Ansatz for the latter leads to a mass operator with linear confinement in terms of an effective string tension $σ\,$. The quantized model is confining when $σ\neq0$ and its mass spectrum shows Regge trajectories. We propose a tensionless limit in which highly excited confined states reduce to (gapped) unparticles. Moreover, the low-lying confined bound states become massless in the latter limit as a sign of conformal symmetry restoration and the ratio between their masses and $\sqrtσ$ stays constant. The originality of our approach is that it applies to both confining and conformal phases via an effective interacting model.

In this note, we consider how the bundle geometry of field space interplays with the covariant phase space methods so as to allow to write results of some generality on the presymplectic structure of invariant gauge theories coupled to matter. We obtain in particular the generic form of Noether charges associated with field-independent and field-dependent gauge parameters, as well as their Poisson bracket. We also provide the general field-dependent gauge transformations of the presymplectic potential and 2-form, which clearly highlight the problem posed by boundaries in generic situations. We then conduct a comparative analysis of two strategies recently considered to evade the boundary problem and associate a modified symplectic structure to a gauge theory over a bounded regions: namely the use of edge modes on the one hand, and of variational connections on the other. To do so, we first try to give the clearest geometric account of both, showing in particular that edge modes are a special case of differential geometric tool of gauge symmetry reduction known as the "dressing field method". Applications to Yang-Mills theory and General Relativity reproduce or generalise several results of the recent literature.

The role of gravity in human motor control is at the same time obvious and difficult to isolate. It can be assessed by performing experiments in variable gravity. We propose that adiabatic invariant theory may be used to reveal nearly-conserved quantities in human voluntary rhythmic motion, an individual being seen as a complex time-dependent dynamical system with bounded motion in phase-space. We study an explicit realization of our proposal: An experiment in which we asked participants to perform $\infty-$ shaped motion of their right arm during a parabolic flight, either at self-selected pace or at a metronome's given pace. Gravity varied between $0$ and $1.8$ $g$ during a parabola. We compute the adiabatic invariants in participant's frontal plane assuming a separable dynamics. It appears that the adiabatic invariant in vertical direction increases linearly with $g$, in agreement with our model. Differences between the free and metronome-driven conditions show that participants' adaptation to variable gravity is maximal without constraint. Furthermore, motion in the participant's transverse plane induces trajectories that may be linked to higher-derivative dynamics. Our results show that adiabatic invariants are relevant quantities to show the changes in motor strategy in time-dependent environments.

At the free level, a given massless field can be described by an infinite number of different potentials related to each other by dualities. In terms of Young tableaux, dualities replace any number of columns of height $h_i$ by columns of height $D-2-h_i$, where $D$ is the spacetime dimension: in particular, applying this operation to empty columns gives rise to potentials containing an arbitrary number of groups of $D-2$ extra antisymmetric indices. Using the method of parent actions, action principles including these potentials, but also extra fields, can be derived from the usual ones. In this paper, we revisit this off-shell duality and clarify the counting of degrees of freedom and the role of the extra fields. Among others, we consider the examples of the double dual graviton in $D=5$ and two cases, one topological and one dynamical, of exotic dualities leading to spin three fields in $D=3$.

We give the reader an overview of these different formulations through the well-known example of Foucault's pendulum, a device created by Foucault $(1819-1868)$ and first installed in the Panthéon (Paris, France) in 1851 to display the Earth's rotation. The apparent simplicity of the Foucault pendulum is indeed an open door to the most contemporary ramifications of Classical Mechanics. We stress that the action-angle variable formalism is not necessary to understand Foucault's pendulum. The latter is simply taken as well-known simple dynamical system used to exemplify modern concepts that are crucial in order to understand more complicated dynamical systems. The Foucault pendulum installed in the collegiate church of Sainte-Waudru (Mons, Belgium) will allow us to numerically estimate the different quantities introduced. A free adaptation of excerpts from "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" will offer the reader some poetic breaths.

We revisit the problem of building consistent interactions for a multiplet of partially massless spin-2 fields in (anti-)de Sitter space. After rederiving and strengthening the existing no-go result on the impossibility of Yang-Mills type non-abelian deformations of the partially massless gauge algebra, we prove the uniqueness of the cubic interaction vertex and field-dependent gauge transformation that generalize the structures known from single-field analyses and in four spacetime dimensions, where our results also hold. Unlike in the case of one partially massless field, however, we show that for two or more particle species the cubic deformations can be made consistent at the complete non-linear level, albeit at the expense of allowing for negative relative signs between kinetic terms, making our new theory akin to conformal gravity. Our construction thus provides the first example of an interacting theory containing only partially massless fields.

In this note, we argue that, contrary to general belief, many higher-derivative systems are classically stable. The main tool to see this property are Nekhoroshev's estimates relying on the action-angle formulation of classical mechanics. The latter formulation can be reached provided the Hamiltonian is separable, which is the case for higher-derivative harmonic oscillators. The Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillators appear to be the only type of higher-derivative harmonic oscillator with stable classical dynamics. A wide class of interaction potentials can even be added that preserve classical stability. Adiabatic invariants are built in the case of a Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillator slowly changing in time; it is shown indeed that the dynamical stability is not jeopardised by the time-dependent perturbation.

In both cases, the latter admit a smooth flat limit. In the massless case, this limit reproduces the gravitational twisted-duality relations previously known for Minkowski spacetime. In the partially-massless case, our twisted-duality relations preserve the number of degrees of freedom in the flat limit, in the sense that they split into a decoupled pair of dualities for spin-1 and spin-2 fields. Our results apply to spacetimes of any dimension greater than three. In four dimensions, the twisted-duality relations for partially massless fields that appeared in the literature are recovered by gauging away the Stueckelberg field.

Cohomological techniques within the Batalin-Vilkovisky (BV) extension of the Becchi-Rouet-Stora-Tyutin (BRST) formalism have proved invaluable for classifying consistent deformations of gauge theories. In this work we investigate the application of this idea to massive field theories in the Stueckelberg formulation. Starting with a collection of free massive vectors, we show that the cohomological method reproduces the cubic and quartic vertices of massive Yang-Mills theory. In the same way, taking a Fierz-Pauli graviton on a maximally symmetric space as the starting point, we are able to recover the consistent cubic vertices of nonlinear massive gravity. The formalism further sheds light on the characterization of Stueckelberg gauge theories, by demonstrating for instance that the gauge algebra of such models is necessarily Abelian and that they admit a Born-Infeld-like formulation in which the action is simply a combination of the gauge-invariant structures of the free theory.

We provide a unified treatment of electric-magnetic duality, at the action level and with manifest Lorentz invariance, for massive, massless as well as partially-massless gravitons propagating in maximally symmetric spacetimes of any dimension n>3. For massive and massless fields, we complete previous analyses that use parent-action techniques by giving dual descriptions that enable direct counting of physical degrees of freedom in the flat and massless limit. The same treatment is extended to the partially-massless case, where the duality has been previously discussed in covariant form only at the level of the equations of motion. The nature of the dual graviton is therefore clarified for all values of the mass and of the cosmological constant.

We extend previous work on antifield dependent local BRST cohomology for matter coupled gauge theories of Yang-Mills type to the case of gauge groups that involve free abelian factors. More precisely, we first investigate in a model independent way how the dynamics enters the computation of the cohomology for a general class of Lagrangians in general spacetime dimensions. We then discuss explicit solutions in the case of specific models. Our analysis has implications for the structure of characteristic cohomology and for consistent deformations of the classical models, as well as for divergences/counterterms and for gauge anomalies that may appear during perturbative quantization.

After proving the impossibility of consistent non-minimal coupling of a real Rarita-Schwinger gauge field to electromagnetism, we re-derive the necessity of introducing the graviton in order to couple a complex Rarita-Schwinger gauge field to electromagnetism, with or without a cosmological term, thereby obtaining ${\cal N}=2$ pure supergravity as the only possibility. These results are obtained with the BRST-BV deformation method around the flat and (A)dS backgrounds in 4 dimensions. The same method applied to $n_{v}$ vectors, ${\cal N}$ real spin-3/2 gauge fields and at most one real spinor field also requires gravity and yields ${\cal N}=3$ pure supergravity as well as ${\cal N}=1$ pure supergravity coupled to a vector supermultiplet, with or without cosmological terms. Independently from the matter content, we finally derive strong necessary quadratic constraints on the possible gaugings for an arbitrary number of spin-1 and spin-3/2 gauge fields, that are relevant for larger supergravities.

Abelian vector fields non-minimally coupled to uncharged scalar fields arise in many contexts. We investigate here through algebraic methods their consistent deformations ("gaugings"), i.e., the deformations that preserve the number (but not necessarily the form or the algebra) of the gauge symmetries. Infinitesimal consistent deformations are given by the BRST cohomology classes at ghost number zero. We parametrize explicitly these classes in terms of various types of global symmetries and corresponding Noether currents through the characteristic cohomology related to antifields and equations of motion. The analysis applies to all ghost numbers and not just ghost number zero. We also provide a systematic discussion of the linear and quadratic constraints on these parameters that follow from higher-order consistency. Our work is relevant to the gaugings of extended supergravities.

This is shown by map** Vasiliev's higher-spin model on noncommutative Yang--Mills theory. We then prove that, prior to Bose-symmetrising, the cyclically-symmetric higher-spin invariants given by the leading order of these $n$-point zero-form charges are equal to corresponding cyclically-invariant building blocks of $n$-point correlation functions of bilinear operators in free conformal field theories (CFT) in three dimensions. On the higher spin gravity side, our computation reproduces the results of 1210.7963 using an alternative method amenable to the computation of subleading corrections obtained by perturbation theory in normal order. On the free CFT side, our proof involves the explicit computation of the separate cyclic building blocks of the correlation functions of $n$ conserved currents in arbitrary dimension $d>2$, using polarization vectors, which is an original result. It is shown to agree, for $d=3$, with the results obtained in 1301.3123 in various dimensions and where polarization spinors were used.

Given a set of differential forms on an odd-dimensional noncommutative manifold valued in an internal associative algebra H, we show that the most general cubic covariant Hamiltonian action, without mass terms, is controlled by an Z_2-graded associative algebra F with a graded symmetric nondegenerate bilinear form. The resulting class of models provide a natural generalization of the Frobenius-Chern-Simons model (FCS) that was proposed in arXiv:1505.04957 as an off-shell formulation of the minimal bosonic four-dimensional higher spin gravity theory. If F is unital and the Z_2-grading is induced from a Klein operator that is outer to a proper Frobenius subalgebra, then the action can be written on a form akin to topological open string field theory in terms of a superconnection valued in the direct product of H and F. We give a new model of this type based on a twisting of C[Z_2 x Z_4], which leads to self-dual complexified gauge fields on AdS_4. If F is 3-graded, the FCS model can be truncated consistently as to zero-form constraints on-shell. Two examples thereof are a twisting of C[(Z_2)^3] that yields the original model, and the Clifford algebra Cl_2n which provides an FCS formulation of the bosonic Konstein--Vasiliev model with gauge algebra hu(4^{n-1},0).

We derive and spell out the structure constants of the $\mathbb{Z}_2$-graded algebra $\mathfrak{shs}[λ]\,$ by using deformed-oscillators techniques in $Aq(2;ν)\,$, the universal envelo** algebra of the Wigner-deformed Heisenberg algebra in 2 dimensions. The use of Weyl ordering of the deformed oscillators is made throughout the paper, via the symbols of the operators and the corresponding associative, non-commutative star product. The deformed oscillator construction was used by Vasiliev in order to construct the higher spin algebras in three spacetime dimensions. We derive an expression for the structure constants of $\mathfrak{shs}[λ]\,$ and show that they must obey a recurrence relation as a consequence of the associativity of the star product. We solve this condition and show that the $\mathfrak{hs}[λ]\,$ structure constants are given by those postulated by Pope, Romans and Shen for the Lone Star product.

We review various off-shell formulations for interacting higher-spin systems in dimensions 3 and 4. Associated with higher-spin systems in spacetime dimension 4 is a Chern-Simons action for a superconnection taking its values in a direct product of an infinite-dimensional algebra of oscillators and a Frobenius algebra. A crucial ingredient of the model is that it elevates the rigid closed and central two-form of Vasiliev's theory to a dynamical 2-form and doubles the higher-spin algebra, thereby considerably reducing the number of possible higher spin invariants and giving a nonzero effective functional on-shell. The two action principles we give for higher-spin systems in 3D are based on Chern-Simons and BF models. In the first case, the theory we give unifies higher-spin gauge fields with fractional-spin fields and an internal sector. In particular, Newton's constant is related to the coupling constant of the internal sector. In the second case, the BF action we review gives the fully nonlinear Prokushkin-Vasiliev, bosonic equations for matter-coupled higher spins in 3D. We present the truncation to a single, real matter field relevant in the Gaberdiel-Gopakumar holographic duality. The link between the various actions we present is the fact that they all borrow ingredients from Topological Field Theory. It has bee conjectured that there is an underlying and unifying 2-dimensional first-quantised description of the previous higher-spin models in 3D and 4D, in the form of a Cattaneo-Felder-like topological action containing fermionic fields.

We first revisit the problem at the linearised level and find that the pure spin-connection, quadratic Lagrangian, takes a form reminiscent to Weyl gravity, given by the square of a Weyl-like tensor. Upon Hodge dualisation, we show that the dual gauge field in (A)dS$_D$ transforms under $GL(D)$ in the same representation as a massive graviton in the flat spacetime of the same dimension. We give a detailed proof that the physical degrees of freedom indeed correspond to a massless graviton propagating around the (anti-) de Sitter background and finally speculate about a possible nonlinear pure-connection theory dual to General Relativity with cosmological constant.

The action is formulated on ${\cal X}_4 \times {\cal Z}_2$ where ${\cal X}_4$ is an open manifold whose boundary contains spacetime and ${\cal Z}_2$ is a noncommutative twistor space. We examine various consistent truncations to models of BF type in ${\cal X}_4$ and ${\cal Z}_2$ with B$^2$ terms and central elements. They are obtained by integrating out the matter fields in the presence of a vacuum expectation value $ν\in \mathbb{R}$ for the zero-form master field. For $ν=0$, we obtain a model on ${\cal X}_4$ containing Blencowe's action and a model on ${\cal Z}_2$ containing the Prokushkin--Segal--Vasiliev action. All Higher-Spin interaction vertices are explicitly obtained from Vasiliev's equations. In particular, we obtain the vertices that are not determined solely by the Higher-Spin algebra structure constants. The dictionary between the Fronsdal fields and Higher-Spin connections is found and the corrections to the Fronsdal equations are derived. These corrections turn out to involve derivatives of arbitrary order. We observe that the vertices not determined by the Higher-Spin algebra produce naked infinities, when decomposed into the minimal derivative vertices and improvements. Therefore, standard methods can only be used to check a rather limited number of correlation functions within the HS AdS/CFT duality. A possible resolution of the puzzle is discussed.

We provide an off-shell formulation of four-dimensional higher spin gravity based on a covariant Hamiltonian action on an open nine-dimensional Poisson manifold whose boundary consists of the direct product of spacetime and a noncommutative twistor space of S^2 x S^2 topology. The fundamental field is a superconnection consisting of even and odd differential forms valued in the odd and even sectors of a 3-graded associative algebra given by the direct product of an eight-dimensional Frobenius algebra and a higher spin algebra extended by inner Klein operators. The superconnection consists of two one-forms gauging the one-sided actions of the higher spin algebra, two bi-fundamental real forms given by the Weyl zero-form and a new dynamical two-form, an additional set of forms providing a maximal duality extension, and, finally, the Lagrange multipliers required for the covariant Hamiltonian action. In a particular two-form background, the model yields Vasiliev's recently proposed extended higher spin gravity equations, whose interaction terms are accounted for by de Rham closed globally defined forms arising in the dynamical two-form.

The model consists of an equal number of bosonic and fermionic fields of worldsheet form degrees zero and one. The action is built using exterior products and derivatives, without any reference to any worldsheet metric, and is of the covariant Hamiltonian form. The equations of motion define a universally Cartan integrable system. In addition to gauge symmetries, the model has one rigid nilpotent supersymmetry corresponding to the target space de Rham operator. The rigid and local symmetries of the action, respectively, are equivalent to the Poisson bracket being compatible with the de Rham operator and obeying graded Jacobi identities. We propose that perturbative quantization of the model yields a covariantized differential star product algebra of Kontsevich type. We comment on the resemblance to the topological A model.

For integer and half-integer values of the fractional spins, the model reduces to finite sets of fields modulo infinite-dimensional ideals. We present the model on-shell using Fock-space representations of the underlying deformed-oscillator algebra.

We study the uniqueness of higher-spin algebras which are at the core of higher-spin theories in AdS and of CFTs with exact higher-spin symmetry, i.e. conserved tensors of rank greater than two. The Jacobi identity for the gauge algebra is the simplest consistency test that appears at the quartic order for a gauge theory. Similarly, the algebra of charges in a CFT must also obey the Jacobi identity. These algebras are essentially the same. Solving the Jacobi identity under some simplifying assumptions spelled out, we obtain that the Eastwood-Vasiliev algebra is the unique solution for d=4 and d>6. In 5d there is a one-parameter family of algebras that was known before. In particular, we show that the introduction of a single higher-spin gauge field/current automatically requires the infinite tower of higher-spin gauge fields/currents. The result implies that from all the admissible non-Abelian cubic vertices in AdS(d), that have been recently classified for totally symmetric higher-spin gauge fields, only one vertex can pass the Jacobi consistency test. This cubic vertex is associated with a gauge deformation that is the germ of the Eastwood-Vasiliev's higher-spin algebra.

We use the Fradkin-Vasiliev procedure to construct the full set of non-abelian cubic vertices for totally symmetric higher spin gauge fields in anti-de Sitter space. The number of such vertices is given by a certain tensor-product multiplicity. We discuss the one-to-one relation between our result and the list of non-abelian gauge deformations in flat space obtained elsewhere via the cohomological approach. We comment about the uniqueness of Vasiliev's simplest higher-spin algebra in relation with the (non)associativity properties of the gauge algebras that we classified. The gravitational interactions for (partially)-massless (mixed)-symmetry fields are also discussed. We also argue that those mixed-symmetry and/or partially-massless fields that are described by one-form connections within the frame-like approach can have nonabelian interactions among themselves and again the number of nonabelian vertices should be given by tensor product multiplicities.

We construct a purely frame-like parent action that allows to dualise, at the off-shell level, an arbitrary mixed-symmetry bosonic massless fields in Minkowski background of dimensions d. We construct a purely frame-like parent action that allows to dualise, at the off-shell level, an arbitrary mixed-symmetry bosonic massless fields in Minkowski background of dimensions d. Starting from any massless mixed-symmetry gauge field in the standard Skvortsov frame-like formulation and following an off-shell dualisation procedure, we obtain dual theories which are on-shell related by so(d-2) Hodge duality. The Hodge dualisation can be done on any column of the Young diagram characterizing the generalised spin of the original frame-like field. Dualisation with respect to the first column of the Young diagram leads to a standard frame-like action for the dual field. Any other dualisation results in an action which cannot be described by the standard frame-like formalism, as the on-shell field is not so(d-2) traceless. Instead, the latter field is given by the product of an irreducible traceless tensor and a certain number of so(d-2)-invariant metrics, and the corresponding dual frame-like action is new. Such actions require supplementary fields, which naturally arise along the lines of the approach that we propose.

The nilpotency of the BRST operator is achieved by imposing boundary conditions and choosing appropriate gauge transitions between charts leading to a globally-defined formulation based on a principal bundle.

In this paper we perform the off-shell dualisation relating the dual graviton to the double-dual graviton, displaying the precise off-shell field content and gauge invariances. We then show that one can further perform infinitely many off-shell dualities, reformulating linearised gravity in an infinite number of equivalent actions. The actions require supplementary mixed-symmetry fields which are contained within the generalised Kac-Moody algebra E11 and are associated with null and imaginary roots.
