Abstract: We determine a new set of parton distribution functions (ABMP16), the strong coupling constant $α_s$ and the quark masses $m_c$, $m_b$ and $m_t$ in a global fit to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in QCD. The analysis uses the $\overline{\mathrm{MS}}$ scheme for $α_s$ and all quark masses and is performed in the fixed-flavor number scheme for $n_f=3, 4, 5$. Essential new elements of the fit ar… ▽ More

The Method of Arbitrarily Large Moments to Calculate Single Scale Processes in Quantum Field Theory
Abstract: We device a new method to calculate a large number of Mellin moments of single scale quantities using the systems of differential and/or difference equations obtained by integration-by-parts identities between the corresponding Feynman integrals of loop corrections to physical quantities. These scalar quantities have a much simpler mathematical structure than the complete quantity. A sufficiently… ▽ More

Heavy flavour corrections to polarised and unpolarised deep-inelastic scattering at 3-loop order
Abstract: We report on progress in the calculation of 3-loop corrections to the deep-inelastic structure functions from massive quarks in the asymptotic region of large momentum transfer $Q^2$. Recently completed results allow us to obtain the $O(a_s^3)$ contributions to several heavy flavour Wilson coefficients which enter both polarised and unpolarised structure functions for lepton-nucleon scattering. In… ▽ More

PDFs, $α_s$, and quark masses from global fits
Abstract: The strong coupling constant $α_s$ and the heavy-quark masses, $m_c$, $m_b$, $m_t$ are extracted simultaneosly with the parton distribution functions (PDFs) in the updated ABM12 fit including recent data from CERN-SPS, HERA, Tevatron, and the LHC. The values of \begin{eqnarray} \nonumber α_s(M_Z)&=&0.1147\pm0.0008~({\rm exp.)},\\ \nonumber m_c(m_c)&=&1.252\pm 0.018~({\rm exp.})~{\rm GeV},\\ \nonum… ▽ More

The Asymptotic 3-Loop Heavy Flavor Corrections to the Charged Current Structure Functions $F_L^{W^+-W^-}(x,Q^2)$ and $F_2^{W^+-W^-}(x,Q^2)$
Abstract: We calculate the massive Wilson coefficients for the heavy flavor contributions to the non-singlet charged current deep-inelastic scattering structure functions $F_L^{W^+}(x,Q^2)-F_L^{W^-}(x,Q^2)$ and $F_2^{W^+}(x,Q^2)-F_2^{W^-}(x,Q^2)$ in the asymptotic region $Q^2 \gg m^2$ to 3-loop order in Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) at general values of the Mellin variable $N$ and the momentum fraction $x$.… ▽ More

The new ABMP16 PDF
Abstract: We present an update of the ABM12 PDF analysis including improved constraints due to the final version of the inclusive DIS HERA data, the Tevatron and LHC data on the W- and Z-production and those on heavy-quark production in the electron- and neutrino-induced DIS at HERA and the fixed-target experiments NOMAD and CHORUS. We also check the impact of the Tevatron and LHC top-quark production data… ▽ More

Algorithms to solve coupled systems of differential equations in terms of power series
Abstract: Using integration by parts relations, Feynman integrals can be represented in terms of coupled systems of differential equations. In the following we suppose that the unknown Feynman integrals can be given in power series representations, and that sufficiently many initial values of the integrals are given. Then there exist algorithms that decide constructively if the coefficients of their power s… ▽ More
