Differentiability of limit shapes in continuous first passage percolation models
Abstract: We introduce and study a class of abstract continuous action minimization problems that generalize continuous first and last passage percolation. In this class of models a limit shape exists. Our main result provides a framework under which that limit shape can be shown to be differentiable. We then describe examples of continuous first passage percolation models that fit into this framework. The… ▽ More

Differentiability of the Shape Function for Directed Polymers in Continuous Space
Abstract: For directed polymers, the shape function computes the limiting average energy accrued by paths with a given average slope. We prove that, for a large family of directed polymer models in discrete time and continuous space in dimension $1+1$, for positive and zero temperature, the shape function is differentiable with respect to the slope on the entire real line.

Noisy heteroclinic networks
Abstract: We consider a white noise perturbation of dynamics in the neighborhood of a heteroclinic network. We show that under the logarithmic time rescaling the diffusion converges in distributon in a special topology to a piecewise constant process that jumps between saddle points along the heteroclinic orbits of the network. We also obtain precise asymptotics for the exit measure for a domain containin… ▽ More

Large Deviations for Random Trees
Abstract: We consider large random trees under Gibbs distributions and prove a Large Deviation Principle (LDP) for the distribution of degrees of vertices of the tree. The LDP rate function is given explicitly. An immediate consequence is a Law of Large Numbers for the distribution of vertex degrees in a large random tree. Our motivation for this study comes from the analysis of RNA secondary structures.

Exit asymptotics for small diffusion about an unstable equilibrium
Abstract: A dynamical system perturbed by white noise in a neighborhood of an unstable fixed point is considered. We obtain the exit asymptotics in the limit of vanishing noise intensity. This is a refinement of a result by Kifer (1981).

A characterization of harmonic measures on laminations by hyperbolic Riemann surfaces
Abstract: We prove that a probability measure on a compact non-singular lamination by hyperbolic Riemann surfaces is harmonic if and only if it is the projection of a measure on the unit tangent bundle such that it is invariant under both the geodesic and the horocycle flows.

Malliavin Calculus for Infinite-Dimensional Systems with Additive Noise
Abstract: We consider an infinite-dimensional dynamical system with polynomial nonlinearity and additive noise given by a finite number of Wiener processes. By studying how randomness is spread by the system we develop a counterpart of Hormander's classical theory in this setting. We study the distributions of finite-dimensional projections of the solutions and give conditions that provide existence and s… ▽ More

Stationary Solutions of Stochastic Differential Equation with Memory and Stochastic Partial Differential Equations
Abstract: We explore Ito stochastic differential equations where the drift term possibly depends on the infinite past. Assuming the existence of a Lyapunov function, we prove the existence of a stationary solution assuming only minimal continuity of the coefficients. Uniqueness of the stationary solution is proven if the dependence on the past decays sufficiently fast. The results of this paper are then a… ▽ More
