Abstract:
In 2000, Hafner and Stopple proved a conjecture of Zagier which states that the constant term of the automorphic function $|Δ(x+iy)|^2$ i.e., the Lambert series $\sum_{n=1}^\infty τ(n)^2 e^{-4 πn y}$ can be expressed in terms of the non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function. In this article, we study a certain Lambert series associated to Siegel cusp forms and observe a similar phenomenon.

Quantum Annealing is a heuristic for solving optimization problems that have seen a recent surge in usage owing to the success of D-Wave Systems. This paper aims to find a good heuristic for solving the Electric Vehicle Charger Placement (EVCP) problem, a problem that stands to be very important given the costs of setting up an electric vehicle (EV) charger and the expected surge in electric vehicles across the world. The same problem statement can also be generalized to the optimal placement of any entity in a grid and can be explored for further uses. Finally, the authors introduce a novel heuristic combining Quantum Annealing and Genetic Algorithms to solve the problem. The proposed hybrid approach entails seeding the genetic algorithms with the results of quantum annealing. Experimental results show that this method decreases the minimum distance from Points of Interest (POI) by $42.89\%$ compared to vanilla quantum annealing over the sample EVCP datasets.

Inspired by a recent experimental and theoretical study [Yang et al., 2017], wherein protrusions in graphene have been proposed as an effective strategy to enhance the performance of sodium ion batteries, a comprehensive study of the effects of phosphorus do** in graphene on adsorption and diffusion behaviour of Li is carried out by using density functional theory. We find that protrusion introduced by P-dopant in graphene enhances the adsorption of a single Li atom onto the anode due to an additional partial covalent bonding character between Li and carbon atoms of the substrate. However, with increase in concentration of Li atoms, they tend to form clusters which may lead to dendrite growth and hence battery failure. Finite density of states at Fermi level ensures the electronic conductivity of the P-doped graphene before and after the adsorption of a Li atom. No momentous variation in DOS is observed except a small up shift in Fermi level with increased Li concentration. The presence of such protrusions acts as trap** centres for Li and hinders their migration over the substrate, leading to poor cycling performance of anode. This atomic level study will act as a useful guideline for further development of anode materials for novel battery technologies.

With the growing economy, e-learning consequently gained increasing attention as it conveys knowledge globally with improved interactivity, assistance, and reduced costs. For the past few years, accidental challenges have become the severe problem with railway units due to irresponsibility, lack of knowledge and improper guidance of station controllers (learners). While focusing on e-learning technologies railway units failed to admit learner's need, cultural diversity and background skills by creating ethnically impartial e-learning environments, which resulted in inadequate training and degraded performance. The purpose of this study is to understand the vision of a global diverse group of station traffic controllers about e-learning courses developed by their individual railway units. The opinions of these officials have been verified by questionnaires on the basis of course organization, course accuracy, course effectiveness, course relevance, course productivity and course interactivity. The results obtained show that the developed e-learning course was highly helpful, interactive, creative, and user-friendly for learners. This lead to making e-learning conquered among independent learners.

Predicting stock market movements is a well-known problem of interest. Now-a-days social media is perfectly representing the public sentiment and opinion about current events. Especially, twitter has attracted a lot of attention from researchers for studying the public sentiments. Stock market prediction on the basis of public sentiments expressed on twitter has been an intriguing field of research. Previous studies have concluded that the aggregate public mood collected from twitter may well be correlated with Dow Jones Industrial Average Index (DJIA). The thesis of this work is to observe how well the changes in stock prices of a company, the rises and falls, are correlated with the public opinions being expressed in tweets about that company. Understanding author's opinion from a piece of text is the objective of sentiment analysis. The present paper have employed two different textual representations, Word2vec and N-gram, for analyzing the public sentiments in tweets. In this paper, we have applied sentiment analysis and supervised machine learning principles to the tweets extracted from twitter and analyze the correlation between stock market movements of a company and sentiments in tweets. In an elaborate way, positive news and tweets in social media about a company would definitely encourage people to invest in the stocks of that company and as a result the stock price of that company would increase. At the end of the paper, it is shown that a strong correlation exists between the rise and falls in stock prices with the public sentiments in tweets.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is one of the major public health problems in the world. It is a well-known fact that around one million people suffer from Parkinson's disease in the United States whereas the number of people suffering from Parkinson's disease worldwide is around 5 million. Thus, it is important to predict Parkinson's disease in early stages so that early plan for the necessary treatment can be made. People are mostly familiar with the motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease, however, an increasing amount of research is being done to predict the Parkinson's disease from non-motor symptoms that precede the motor ones. If an early and reliable prediction is possible then a patient can get a proper treatment at the right time. Nonmotor symptoms considered are Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep Behaviour Disorder (RBD) and olfactory loss. Develo** machine learning models that can help us in predicting the disease can play a vital role in early prediction. In this paper, we extend a work which used the non-motor features such as RBD and olfactory loss. Along with this the extended work also uses important biomarkers. In this paper, we try to model this classifier using different machine learning models that have not been used before. We developed automated diagnostic models using Multilayer Perceptron, BayesNet, Random Forest and Boosted Logistic Regression. It has been observed that Boosted Logistic Regression provides the best performance with an impressive accuracy of 97.159 % and the area under the ROC curve was 98.9%. Thus, it is concluded that these models can be used for early prediction of Parkinson's disease.

Based on the collective response of Arrott plots and ΔSM (T), a magnetic phase diagram of CaMn7O12 is suggested. A new magnetic transition at TN3 ~20 K where the system changes from noncollinear AFM to collinear AFM is reported. An anomaly observed in both ΔSM (T) and Arrott plots around 64 K has been attributed to high external field induced spin canting leading to change in magnetic order inducing phase transition. Magneto-caloric effect in this material is presented for the first time. The peak value of change in isothermal magnetic entropy is 1.3 J/K-Kg and the value of refrigeration capacity is reported to be 34.5 J/Kg for the field of 7 T.

A high resolution vacuum ultraviolet (HRVUV) beamline based on a 6.65 meter off-plane Eagle spectrometer is in operation at the Indus-1 synchrotron radiation source, RRCAT, Indore, India. To facilitate position sensitive detection and fast spectral recording, a new BaFBr:Eu2+ phosphor based image plate (IP) detection system interchangeable with the existing photomultiplier (PMT) scanning system has been installed on this beamline. VUV photoabsorption studies on Xe, O2, N2O and SO2 are carried out to evaluate the performance of the IP detection system. An FWHM of ~ 0.5 Å is achieved for the Xe atomic line at 1469.6 Å. Reproducibility of spectra is found to be within the experimental resolution. Compared to the PMT scanning system, the IP shows several advantages in terms of sensitivity, recording time and S/N ratio, which are highlighted in the paper. This is the first report of incorporation of an IP detection system in a VUV beamline using synchrotron radiation. Commissioning of the new detection system is expected to greatly enhance the utilization of the HRVUV beamline as a number of spectroscopic experiments which require fast recording times combined with a good signal to noise ratio are now feasible.

We carried out a multi-wavelength study of a CME and a medium-size 1B/C1.3 flare occurring on 12 May 1997. We present the investigation of magnetic-field variations in the NOAA Active Region 8038 which was observed on the Sun during 7--16 May 1997. Analyses of Hα filtergrams and MDI/SOHO magnetograms revealed continual but discrete surge activity, and emergence and cancellation of flux in this active region. The movie of these magnetograms revealed two important results that the major opposite polarities of pre-existing region as well as in the emerging flux region (EFR) were approaching towards each other and moving magnetic features (MMF) were ejecting out from the major north polarity at a quasi-periodicity of about ten hrs during 10--13 May 1997. These activities were probably caused by the magnetic reconnection in the lower atmosphere driven by photospheric convergence motions, which were evident in magnetograms. The magnetic field variations such as flux, gradient, and sunspot rotation revealed that free energy was slowly being stored in the corona. The slow low-layer magnetic reconnection may be responsible for this storage and the formation of a sigmoidal core field or a flux rope leading to the eventual eruption. The occurrence of EUV brightenings in the sigmoidal core field prior to the rise of a flux rope suggests that the eruption was triggered by the inner tether-cutting reconnection, but not the external breakout reconnection. An impulsive acceleration revealed from fast separation of the Hα ribbons of the first 150 seconds suggests the CME accelerated in the inner corona, which is consistent with the temporal profile of the reconnection electric field. In conclusion, we propose a qualitative model in view of framework of a solar eruption involving, mass ejections, filament eruption, CME, and subsequent flare.

A new 2-parameter family of central structures in trees, called central forests, is introduced. Minieka's $m$-center problem and McMorris's and Reid's central-$k$-tree can be seen as special cases of central forests in trees. A central forest is defined as a forest $F$ of $m$ subtrees of a tree $T$, where each subtree has $k$ nodes, which minimizes the maximum distance between nodes not in $F$ and those in $F$. An $O(n(m+k))$ algorithm to construct such a central forest in trees is presented, where $n$ is the number of nodes in the tree. The algorithm either returns with a central forest, or with the largest $k$ for which a central forest of $m$ subtrees is possible. Some of the elementary properties of central forests are also studied.

Desharnais, Gupta, Jagadeesan and Panangaden introduced a family of behavioural pseudometrics for probabilistic transition systems. These pseudometrics are a quantitative analogue of probabilistic bisimilarity. Distance zero captures probabilistic bisimilarity. Each pseudometric has a discount factor, a real number in the interval (0, 1]. The smaller the discount factor, the more the future is discounted. If the discount factor is one, then the future is not discounted at all. Desharnais et al. showed that the behavioural distances can be calculated up to any desired degree of accuracy if the discount factor is smaller than one. In this paper, we show that the distances can also be approximated if the future is not discounted. A key ingredient of our algorithm is Tarski's decision procedure for the first order theory over real closed fields. By exploiting the Kantorovich-Rubinstein duality theorem we can restrict to the existential fragment for which more efficient decision procedures exist.
