Correlations in Electrically Coupled Chaotic Lasers
Abstract: We show how two electrically coupled semiconductor lasers having optical feedback can present simultaneous anti-phase correlated fast power fluctuations, and strong in-phase synchronized spikes of chaotic power drops. This quite counter intuitive phenomenon is demonstrated experimentally and confirmed by numerical solutions of a deterministic dynamical system of rate equations. The occurrence of n… ▽ More

Time Delays in the Synchronization of Chaotic Coupled Systems with Feedback
Abstract: The synchronized excitable behavior of two coupled chaotic diode lasers with feedback was experimental and numerically studied. We determine the relation between the observed delay times in synchronized Low Frequency Fluctuation spikes and the coupling and the feedback times in the lasers.

Exponential Recovery of Low Frequency Fluctuations in a Diode Laser with Optical Feedback
Abstract: We show that the recovery after each power drop on the chaotic Low Frequency Fluctuations in a semiconductor laser with optical feedback follows an exponential envelope. The time constant for such exponential behavior was experimentally measured. This recovery time constant and the average time interval between consecutive drops are shown to have different dependences when measured as function o… ▽ More
