Measurement of branching fraction and final-state asymmetry for the $\bar{B}^{0}\to K^{0}_{S}K^{\mp}π^{\pm}$ decay

Abstract: We report a measurement of the branching fraction and final-state asymmetry for the $\bar{B}^{0}\to K^{0}_{S}K^{\mp}π^{\pm}$ decays. The analysis is based on a data sample of 711 $\rm{fb}^{-1}$ collected at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^{+}e^{-}$ collider. Evidence for the decay $B^0\to p\bar{p}π^0$

Abstract: We report a search for the charmless baryonic decay $B^0\to p\bar{p}π^0$ with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711~$\rm fb^{-1}$ containing $(772\pm 10)\times 10^6$ $B^0\bar{B}^0$ pairs. The data was collected by the Belle experiment running on the $Υ(4S)$ resonance at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. The signal has a significance of 3.1 standard deviations and constitutes the first evidence for this decay mode. We also search for the intermediate two-body decays $B^{0}\toΔ^+\bar{p}$ and $B^0\to\barΔ^-p$, and set an upper limit on the branching fraction: $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to Δ^+\bar{p})+\mathcal{B}(B^0\to\barΔ^-p)<1.6\times10^{-6}$ at 90% confidence level. △ Less

Evidence for $B^+ \rightarrow h_c K^+$ and observation of $η_c(2S) \to p \bar{p} π^+ π^-$

Abstract: A search for the decays $B^+ \rightarrow h_c K^+$ and $B^0 \rightarrow h_c K_S^0$ is performed. Evidence for the decay $B^+ \rightarrow h_c K^+$ is found; its significance is $4.8σ$. No evidence is found for $B^0 \rightarrow h_c K_S^0$. Abstract: We report measurements of the production cross sections of charged pions, kaons, and protons as a function of fractional energy, the event-shape variable called thrust, and the transverse momentum with respect to the thrust axis. These measurements access the transverse momenta created in the fragmentation process, which are of critical importance to the understanding of any transverse momentum dependent distribution and fragmentation functions. The low transverse momentum part of the cross sections can be well described by Gaussians in transverse momentum as is generally assumed but the fractional-energy dependence is non-trivial and different hadron types have varying Gaussian widths. The width of these Gaussians decreases with thrust and shows an initially rising, then decreasing fractional-energy dependence. The widths for pions and kaons are comparable within uncertainties, while those for protons are significantly narrower. These single-hadron cross sections and Gaussian widths are obtained from a $558\,{\rm fb}^{-1}$ data sample collected at the $Υ(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. △ Less

We find excesses of events above the background levels, with a significances of 2.1 and 0.9 standard deviations for charged and neutral $B \to Y(4260) K$ decays, respectively, taking into account the systematic uncertainties. Measurement of the branching fraction and time-dependent $CP$ asymmetry for $B^0\to J/ψπ^0$ decays

Abstract: We measure the branching fraction and time-dependent $CP$-violating asymmetry for $B^0\to J/ψπ^0$ decays using a data sample of 711 ${\rm fb^{-1}}$ collected on the $Υ(4S)$ resonance by the Belle experiment running at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. The branching fraction is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to J/ψπ^0) = [1.62\,\pm 0.11~({\rm stat}) \pm0.07~({\rm syst})]\times 10^{-5}$, which is the mos… ▽ More We measure the branching fraction and time-dependent $CP$-violating asymmetry for $B^0\to J/ψπ^0$ decays using a data sample of 711 ${\rm fb^{-1}}$ collected on the $Υ(4S)$ resonance by the Belle experiment running at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. The branching fraction is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to J/ψπ^0) = [1.62\,\pm 0.11~({\rm stat}) \pm0.07~({\rm syst})]\times 10^{-5}$, which is the most precise measurement to date. The measured $CP$ asymmetry parameters are $\mathcal{S} = -0.59\,\pm 0.19~({\rm stat}) \pm 0.03~({\rm syst})$ and $\mathcal{A} = -0.15\,\pm 0.14~({\rm stat})\,^{+0.04}_{-0.03}~({\rm syst})$. The mixing-induced $CP$ asymmetry ($\mathcal{S}$) differs from the case of no $CP$ violation by 3.0 standard deviations, and the direct $CP$ asymmetry ($\mathcal{A}$) is consistent with zero. △ Less

Search for a light CP-odd Higgs boson and low-mass dark matter at the Belle experiment

Abstract: We report on the first Belle search for a light CP-odd Higgs boson, $A^{0}$, that decays into low mass dark matter, $χ$, in final states with a single photon and missing energy. We search for events produced via the dipion transition $Υ(\textrm{2S})\rightarrowΥ(\textrm{1S})π^{+}π^{-}$, followed by the on-shell process $Υ(\textrm{1S})\rightarrowγA^{0}$ with $A^{0} \rightarrowχχ$, or by the off-shel… ▽ More We report on the first Belle search for a light CP-odd Higgs boson, $A^{0}$, that decays into low mass dark matter, $χ$, in final states with a single photon and missing energy. Utilizing a data sample of 157.3 $\times$ 10$^{6}$ $Υ(\textrm{2S})$ decays, we find no evidence for a signal. We set limits on the branching fractions of such processes in the mass ranges $M_{A^{0}} <$ 8.97 $\textrm{GeV/}\textit{c}^{2}$ and $M_χ <$ 4.44 $\textrm{GeV/}\textit{c}^{2}$. We then use the limits on the off-shell process to set competitive limits on WIMP-nucleon scattering in the WIMP mass range below 5 $\textrm{GeV/}\textit{c}^{2}$. △ Less

Abstract: We report the study of \OK \ and \SK \ using a $772 \times 10^6$ $B\bar{B}$ pair data sample recorded on the $Υ({\rm 4S})$ resonance with the Belle detector at KEKB. We also found evidences for $\mathcal{B}$(\ETACS+c.c.) $=$ $(3.59 \pm 1.52 \pm 0.47) \times 10^{-3}$ and $\mathcal{B}$(\LLKO) $=$ $(2.30 \pm 0.65 \pm 0.25) \times 10^{-6}$. No significant signals are found for \JPSIS+c.c. and \LLKS \ ; we set the 90\% confidence level upper limits on their decay branching fractions as $< 1.85\times10^{-3}$ and $< 2.14\times10^{-6}$, respectively. △ Less

Observation of $Υ(2S)\toγη_{b}(1S)$ decay

Abstract: We report the observation of $Υ(2S)\toγη_{b}(1S)$ decay based on analysis of the inclusive photon spectrum of $24.7$ fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+ e^-$ collisions at the $Υ(2S)$ center-of-mass energy collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. We measure a branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}(Υ(2S)\toγη_{b}(1S))=(6.1^{+0.6+0.9}_{-0.7-0.6})\times 10^{-4}$, and derive an… ▽ More We report the observation of $Υ(2S)\toγη_{b}(1S)$ decay based on analysis of the inclusive photon spectrum of $24.7$ fb$^{-1}$ of $e^+ e^-$ collisions at the $Υ(2S)$ center-of-mass energy collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. We measure a branching fraction of $\mathcal{B}(Υ(2S)\toγη_{b}(1S))=(6.1^{+0.6+0.9}_{-0.7-0.6})\times 10^{-4}$, and derive an $η_{b}(1S)$ mass of $9394.8^{+2.7+4.5}_{-3.1-2.7}$ MeV/$c^{2}$, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. The significance of our measurement is greater than 7 standard deviations, constituting the first observation of this decay mode. △ Less

We report the first observation of the process $e^+e^-\to (π^+π^-π^0)_{\rm non-ω}χ_{b1}$ and first evidence for $e^+e^-\toωχ_{bJ}$ in the vicinity of the $Υ(11020)$ resonance, with center-of-mass energies from 10.96 to 11.05~GeV. The significances for $(π^+π^-π^0)_{\rm non-ω}χ_{b1}$ and $ωχ_{bJ}$ are greater than $5.3σ$ and $4.0σ$, respectively. We also investigate the energy dependence of the $e^+e^-\toπ^+π^-π^0χ_{bJ}$ cross section, but we cannot determine whether the contributions are from the $Υ(10860)$ and $Υ(11020)$ resonances or non-resonant continuum processes. The signals for $e^+e^-\to φχ_{bJ}$ are not significant, and the upper limits of the Born cross sections at the 90\% confidence level are $0.7$ and $1.0$~pb for $e^+e^-\to φχ_{b1}$ and $φχ_{b2}$, respectively, for center-of-mass energies from 10.96 to 11.05~GeV. △ Less

Abstract: The present work continues a series of the KEDR measurements of the $R$ value that started in 2010 at the VEPP-4M $e^+e^-$ collider. By combining new data with our previous results in this energy range we measured the values of $R_{\text{uds}}$ and $R$ at nine center-of-mass energies between 3.08 and 3.72 GeV. The eta_c(1S) mass and width are measured to be M = [2984.6\pm0.7 (stat.)\pm2.2 (syst.)] MeV/c^{2} and Γ= [30.8^{+2.3}_{-2.2}~(stat.) \pm 2.5~(syst.)] MeV, respectively… ▽ More We report the measurement of gamma gamma to eta_c(1S), eta_c(2S) to eta' pi+ pi- with eta' decays to gamma rho and eta pi+ pi- using 941 fb^{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. The eta_c(1S) mass and width are measured to be M = [2984.6\pm0.7 (stat.)\pm2.2 (syst.)] MeV/c^{2} and Γ= [30.8^{+2.3}_{-2.2}~(stat.) \pm 2.5~(syst.)] MeV, respectively. First observation of eta_c(2S) to eta' pi+ pi- with a significance of 5.5sigma including systematic error is obtained, and the eta_c(2S) mass is measured to be M = [3635.1\pm3.7~(stat.)\pm2.9~(syst.)] MeV/c^{2}. The products of the two-photon decay width and branching fraction (B) of decays to eta'pi+ pi- are determined to be Γ_{gamma gamma}B = [65.4\pm2.6~(stat.)\pm6.9~(syst.)] eV for eta_c(1S) and [5.6^{+1.2}_{-1.1}~(stat.)\pm1.1~(syst.)] eV for eta_c(2S). A new decay mode for the eta_c(1S) to eta'f_0(2080) with f_0(2080) to pi+ pi- is observed with a statistical significance of 20sigma. The f_0(2080) mass and width are determined to be M = [2083^{+63}_{-66}~(stat.)\pm 32~(syst.)] MeV/c^{2} and Γ= [178^{+60}_{-178}~(stat.) \pm 55~(syst.)] MeV. Observation of Excited $Ω_c$ Charmed Baryons in $e^+e^-$ Collisions

Abstract: Using the entire Belle data sample of 980 ${\rm fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collisions, we present the results of a study of excited $Ω_c$ charmed baryons in the decay mode $Ξ_c^+K^-$. We show confirmation of four of the five narrow states reported by the LHCb Collaboration: the $Ω_c(3000)$ , $Ω_c(3050)$, $Ω_c(3066)$, and $Ω_c(3090)$. Using the entire Belle data sample of 980 ${\rm fb}^{-1}$ of $e^+e^-$ collisions, we present the results of a study of excited $Ω_c$ charmed baryons in the decay mode $Ξ_c^+K^-$. Abstract: The process $e^+e^- \to K^+K^-$ has been studied using $1.7 \times 10^6$ events from a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.7 pb$^{-1}$ collected with the CMD-3 detector in the center-of-mass energy range 1010--1060 MeV. We do not observe significant signals for $X(3872)$ nor $X(3915)$, and set the 90$\%$ confidence level upper limits: ${\cal B}(B^{+} \to X(3872) K^{+} )<2.7 \times 10^{-4}$ and ${\cal B}(B^{+} \to X(3915) K^{+} )<2.9 \times 10^{-4}$. These represent the most stringent upper limit for ${\cal B}(B^{+} \to X(3872) K^{+} )$ to date and the first measurement for ${\cal B}(B^{+} \to X(3915) K^{+} )$. The measured branching fractions for $η_{c}$ and $η_{c}(2S)$ are the most precise to date: ${\cal B}(B^{+} \to η_{c} K^{+} )=(12.3\pm0.8\pm0.7) \times 10^{-4}$ and ${\cal B}(B^{+} \to η_{c}(2S)K^{+}) =(4.9\pm1.1\pm0.3) \times 10^{-4}$ , where the first and second uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively. △ Less

We search for the decay $Υ(1^3D_{1,2})\toηΥ(1S)$, but do not find significant evidence for such a transition. We also measure the initial state radiation production cross sections of the $Υ(2S,3S)$ resonances and we find values compatible with the expected ones. Finally, the analysis of the $Υ(4S)\toπ^+π^-Υ(1S)$ events shows indications for a resonant contribution due to the $f_0(980)$ meson. △ Less

Abstract: We report the first evidence for isospin violation in $B \to K^* γ$ and the first measurement of difference of $CP$ asymmetries between $B^+ \to K^{*+} γ$ and $B^0 \to K^{*0} γ$. This analysis is based on the data sample containing $772 \times 10^6 B\bar{B}$ pairs that was collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric $e^+ e^-$ collider. We find evidence for the isospin violation with a significance of 3.1$σ$, $Δ_{0+} = (+6.2 \pm 1.5 ({\rm stat.}) \pm 0.6 ({\rm syst.}) \pm 1.2 (f_{+-}/f_{00}))$\%, where the third uncertainty is due to the uncertainty on the fraction of $B^+B^-$ to $B^0\bar{B}^0$ production in $Υ(4S)$ decays. The measured value is consistent with predictions of the SM. The result for the difference of $CP$ asymmetries is $ΔA_{CP} = (+2.4 \pm 2.8({\rm stat.}) \pm 0.5({\rm syst.}))$\%, consistent with zero. The measured branching fractions and $CP$ asymmetries for charged and neutral $B$ meson decays are the most precise to date. Among the production cross sections of charmed baryons, a factor of three difference for $Λ_c^+$ states over $Σ_c$ states is observed. The obtained branching fraction and direct $CP$ asymmetry are $ \mathcal{B}(B\to π^{0}π^{0}) = [1.31 \pm 0.19~ \text{(stat.)} \pm 0.19~ \text{(syst.)}] \times 10^{-6}$ and $ A_{CP} = +0.14 \pm 0.36~ \text{(stat.)} \pm 0.10~ \text{(syst.)}, $ respectively. The signal significance, including the systematic uncertainty, is 6.4 standard deviations. We combine these results with Belle's earlier measurements of $B^{0}\to π^{+} π^{-}$ and $B^{\pm} \to π^{\pm} π^{0}$ to exclude the $CP$-violating parameter $φ_{2}$ from the range $15.5^{\circ} < φ_{2} < 75.0^{\circ}$ at 95\% confidence level. △ Less

A new charmoniumlike state $X^*(3860)$ that decays to $D \bar{D}$ is observed with a significance of $6.5σ$. Unfolded differential decay rates of four kinematic variables fully describing the $\bar B^0 \to D^{*\,+} \, \ell^- \, \bar ν_\ell$ decay in the $B$-meson rest frame are presented. We measure the total branching fraction $\mathcal{B}( \bar B^0 \to D^{*\,+} \, \ell^- \, \bar ν_\ell ) = \left(4.95 \pm 0.11 \pm 0.22 \right) \times 10^{-2}$, where the errors are statistical and systematic respectively. The value of $\left|V_{cb} \right|$ is determined to be $\left( 37.4 \pm 1.3 \right) \times 10^{-3}$. Both results are in good agreement with current world averages. △ Less
