Charge and spin supercurrents in triplet superconductor--ferromagnet--singlet superconductor Josephson junctions
Abstract: We study the Josephson effect in a triplet superconductor--ferromagnet--singlet superconductor junction. Odd-frequency Pairs and Josephson Current through a Strong Ferromagnet
Abstract: We study Josephson current in superconductor / diffusive ferromagnet /superconductor junctions by using the recursive Green function method. When the exchange potential in a ferromagnet is sufficiently large as compared to the pair potential in a superconductor, an ensemble average of Josephson current is much smaller than its mesoscopic fluctuations. The Josephson current vanishes when the exch… ▽ More

Conductance Spectroscopy of Spin-triplet Superconductors
Abstract: We propose a novel experiment to identify the symmetry of superconductivity on the basis of theoretical results for differential conductance of a normal metal connected to a superconductor. The proximity effect from the superconductor modifies the conductance of the remote current depending remarkably on the pairing symmetry: spin-singlet or spin-triplet. The clear-cut difference in the conducta… ▽ More

Forward coherent $φ$-meson photoproduction from deuterons near threshold
Abstract: Differential cross sections and decay asymmetries for coherent $φ$-meson photoproduction from deuterons were measured for the first time at forward angles using linearly polarized photons at $E_γ$= 1.5-2.4 GeV. This reaction offers a unique way to directly access natural-parity Pomeron dynamics and gluon exchange at low energies. The cross sections at zero degrees increase with increasing photon… ▽ More

Theory of Macroscopic Quantum Tunneling and Dissipation in High-Tc Josephson Junctions
Abstract: We have investigated macroscopic quantum tunneling (MQT) in in-plane high-Tc superconductor Josephson junctions and the influence of the nodal-quasiparticle and the zero energy bound states (ZES) on MQT. We have shown that the presence of the ZES at the interface between the insulator and the superconductor leads to strong Ohmic quasiparticle dissipation. Therefore, the MQT rate is noticeably su… ▽ More

Smearing origin of zero-bias conductance peak in Ag-SiO-Bi-2212 planar tunnel junctions: influence of diffusive normal metal verified with the circuit theory
Abstract: We propose a new approach of smearing origins of a zero-bias conductance peak (ZBCP) in high-Tc superconductor tunnel junctions through the analysis based on the circuit theory for a d-wave pairing symmetry. The circuit theory has been recently developed from conventional superconductors to unconventional superconductors. The ZBCP frequently appears in line shapes for this theory, in which the t… ▽ More

Josephson Spin Current in Triplet Superconductor Junctions
Abstract: This paper theoretically discusses the spin current in spin-triplet superconductor / insulator / spin-triplet superconductor junctions. At low temperatures, a midgap Andreev resonant state anomalously enhances not only the charge current but also the spin current. The coupling between the Cooper pairs and the electromagnetic fields leads to the Frounhofer pattern in the direct current spin flow… ▽ More

Josephson Effect due to Odd-frequency Pairs in Diffusive Half Metals
Abstract: The Josephson effect in superconductor / diffusive ferromagnet / superconductor (SFS) junctions is studied using the recursive Green function method in the regime of large exchange energy in a ferromagnet. Motivated by recent experiment [R. S. Keizer, et. al., Nature 439, 825 (2006)] we also address the case of superconductor / diffusive half metal / superconductor junctions. The pairing functio… ▽ More

Macroscopic quantum dynamics of pi-junctions with ferromagnetic insulators
Abstract: We theoretically investigate the macroscopic quantum dynamics of a pi junction with a superconductor (S) and a multiferroic material or a ferromagnetic insulator (FI). By deriving the effective action from a microscopic Hamiltonian, a pi-junction qubit (a S-FI-S superconducting quantum interference device ring) is proposed. In this qubit, a quantum two-level system is spontaneously generated and… ▽ More

Anomalous Josephson effect in p-wave dirty junctions
Abstract: The Josephson effect in p-wave superconductor / diffusive normal metal / p-wave superconductor junctions is studied theoretically. Amplitudes of Josephson currents are several orders of magnitude larger than those in s-wave junctions. Current-phase (J-φ) relations in low temperatures are close to those in ballistic junctions such as J\propto\sin(φ/2) and J\proptoφeven in the presence of random i… ▽ More
