The possible existence of a family of $uudc\overline{c}$ pentaquark system was explored through the application of Thomas Fermi Quark Model on the system. Considering a pocket of pentaquark contains $5$ quarks, the density functions, and energies of $10$ different pockets of pentaquarks were studied. Out of these $10$ different pockets, a single pocket of pentaquark was found to be more stable as its total energy was lowest compared to others. The kinetic, potential, and volume energies of all pockets of pentaquarks were calculated and the nature of the plots was investigated. The plots displayed an increasing trend for all energies except for kinetic energy, which exhibited a decreasing pattern.

Abstract:
We report a rare astrophysical phenomenon, in which an early-type dwarf galaxy (dE), LEDA 1915372, is accreting gas from a nearby star-forming dwarf galaxy, MRK 0689, and is rejuvenating star-formation activity at the center. Both LEDA 1915372 and MRK 0689 have similar brightness of $M_{r}$ = $-$16.99 and $-$16.78 mag, respectively. They are located in a small group environment, separated by a sky…

They are located in a small group environment, separated by a sky-projected distance of 20.27 kpc (up to 70 kpc in three dimension), and have a relative line-of-sight radial velocity of 6 km/s. The observation of 21 cm emission with the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope provides strong evidence of interaction between the pair dwarf galaxies in terms of neutral hydrogen (HI) morphology and kinematics. In particular, the HI map reveals that the two galaxies are clearly connected by a gas bridge, and the gas components of both LEDA 1915372 and MRK 0689 share a common direction of rotation. We also find that the HI emission peak deviates from LEDA 1915372 toward its optical blue plume, suggesting a tidal origin of ongoing central star formation. Our findings provide a new path to the formation of blue-cored dEs.

We present an extensive catalog of 5405 early-type dwarf (dE) galaxies located in the various environments, i.e., clusters, groups and fields, of the local universe ($z$ $<$ 0.01). The dEs are selected through visual inspection of the Legacy survey's $g$-$r$-$z$ combined tri-color images. The inspected area, covering a total sky area of 7643 deg$^{2}$, encompasses two local clusters, Virgo and Fornax, 265 groups, and the regions around 586 field galaxies of $M_{K}$ $<$ $-$21 mag. The catalog aims to be one of the most extensive and publicly accessible collections of data on dE, despite its complex completeness limits that may not accurately represent its statistical completeness. The strength of the catalog lies in the morphological characteristics, including nucleated, tidal, and ultradiffuse dE. The two clusters contribute nearly half (2437 out of 5405) dEs, and the 265 groups contribute 2103 dEs. There are 864 dEs in 586 fields, i.e., ~1.47 dEs per field. Using a standard definition commonly used in literature, we identify 100 ultra-diffuse galaxies (UDGs), which take ~2% of the dE population. We find that 40% of our sample dEs harbor a central nucleus, and among the UDG population, a majority, 79%, are nonnucleated. About 1.3 of dEs suffer from ongoing tidal disturbance by nearby massive galaxies, and only 0.03% show the sign of recent dwarf-dwarf mergers. The association between dEs and their nearest bright neighbor galaxies suggests that dEs are more likely created where their neighbors are non-star-forming ones.

Large-scale study of glaciers improves our understanding of global glacier change and is imperative for monitoring the ecological environment, preventing disasters, and studying the effects of global climate change. Glaciers in the Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) are particularly interesting as the HKH is one of the world's most sensitive regions for climate change. In this work, we: (1) propose a modified version of the U-Net for large-scale, spatially non-overlap**, clean glacial ice, and debris-covered glacial ice segmentation; (2) introduce a novel self-learning boundary-aware loss to improve debris-covered glacial ice segmentation performance; and (3) propose a feature-wise saliency score to understand the contribution of each feature in the multispectral Landsat 7 imagery for glacier map**. Our results show that the debris-covered glacial ice segmentation model trained using self-learning boundary-aware loss outperformed the model trained using dice loss. Furthermore, we conclude that red, shortwave infrared, and near-infrared bands have the highest contribution toward debris-covered glacial ice segmentation from Landsat 7 images.

It has long been speculated that Blue Compact Dwarf galaxies (BCDs) are formed through the interaction between low-mass gas-rich galaxies, but a few candidates of such systems have been studied in detail. We study a sample of compact star-forming dwarf galaxies that are selected from a merging dwarf galaxy catalog. We present a detailed study of their spectroscopic and structural properties. We find that these BCDs looking galaxies host extended stellar shells and thus are confirmed to be a dwarf-dwarf merger. Their stellar masses range between $8\times10^7$~M$_{\sun}$ and $2\times10^9$~M$_{\sun}$. Although the extended tail and shell are prominent in the deep optical images, the overall major axis light profile is well modeled with a two-component Sérsic function of inner compact and extended outer radii. We calculate the inner and outer component stellar-mass ratio using the two-component modeling. We find an average ratio of 4:1 (with a range of 10:1 to 2:1) for our sample, indicating that the central component dominates the stellar mass with an ongoing burst of star-formation. From the measurement of H$_α$ equivalent width, we derived the star-formation ages of these galaxies. The derived star-formation ages of these galaxies turn out to be in the order of a few 10 Myr, suggesting the recent ignition of star-formation due to events of satellite interaction.

The acceptance of Internet of Things (IoT) applications and services has seen an enormous rise of interest in IoT. Organizations have begun to create various IoT based gadgets ranging from small personal devices such as a smart watch to a whole network of smart grid, smart mining, smart manufacturing, and autonomous driver-less vehicles. The overwhelming amount and ubiquitous presence have attracted potential hackers for cyber-attacks and data theft. Security is considered as one of the prominent challenges in IoT. The key scope of this research work is to propose an innovative model using machine learning algorithm to detect and mitigate botnet-based distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack in IoT network. Our proposed model tackles the security issue concerning the threats from bots. Different machine learning algorithms such as K- Nearest Neighbour (KNN), Naive Bayes model and Multi-layer Perception Artificial Neural Network (MLP ANN) were used to develop a model where data are trained by BoT-IoT dataset. The best algorithm was selected by a reference point based on accuracy percentage and area under the receiver operating characteristics curve (ROC AUC) score. Feature engineering and Synthetic minority oversampling technique (SMOTE) were combined with machine learning algorithms (MLAs). Performance comparison of three algorithms used was done in class imbalance dataset and on the class balanced dataset.

In this work, we present a machine learning based approach to support ecological monitoring, with a focus on glaciers. Our approach is based on semi-automated map** from satellite images. We utilize readily available remote sensing data to create a model to identify and outline both clean ice and debris-covered glaciers from satellite imagery. A spatial orientation of angular momentum vectors of galaxies in six dynamically unstable Abell clusters (S1171, S0001, A1035, A1373, A1474 and A4053) is studied. For this, two-dimensional observed parameters (e.g., positions, diameters, position angles) are converted into three-dimensional rotation axes of the galaxy using `position angle - inclination' method. The expected isotropic distribution curves for angular momentum vectors are obtained by performing random simulations. The observed and expected distributions are compared using several statistical tests. No preferred alignments of angular momentum vectors of galaxies are noticed in all six dynamically unstable clusters supporting hierarchy model of galaxy formation. These clusters have a larger value of velocity dispersion. However, local effects are noticed in the clusters that have substructures in the 1D-3D number density maps.

We present the analysis of the spin vector orientation of 5$\,$987 SDSS galaxies having negative redshift from $-$87.6 to $-$0.3 km$\,$s$^{-1}$. Two dimensional observed parameters are used to compute three dimensional galaxy rotation axes by applying `position angle--inclination' method. We aim to examine the non-random effects in the spatial orientation of blue-shifted galaxies. We generate 5$\times$10$^6$ virtual galaxies to find expected isotropic distributions by performing numerical simulations. We have written MATLAB program to facilitate the simulation process and eliminate the manual errors in the process. Chi-square, auto-correlation, and the Fourier tests are used to examine non-random effects in the polar and azimuthal angle distributions of the galaxy rotation axes. In general, blue-shifted galaxies show no preferred alignments of galaxy rotation axes. Our results support Hierarchy model, which suggests a random orientation of angular momentum vectors of galaxies. However, local effects are noted suggesting gravitational tidal interaction between neighboring galaxies.

We present an analysis of the chiral property of 1,621 field galaxies having radial velocity 3,000 km/s to 5,000 km/s . A correlation between the chiral symmetry breaking and the preferred alignment of galaxies in the leading and trailing structural modes is studied using chi-square, auto-correlation and the Fourier tests. We noticed a good agreement between the random alignment of the position angle (PA) distribution and the existence of chirality in both the leading and trailing arm galaxies. Chirality is found stronger for the late-type spirals (Sc, Scd, Sd and Sm) than that of the early-types (Sa, Sab, Sb and Sbc). A significant dominance (17% $\pm$ 8.5%) of trailing modes is noticed in the barred spirals. In addition, chirality of field galaxies is found to remain invariant under the global expansion. The PA-distribution of the total trailing arm galaxies is found to be random, whereas preferred alignment is noticed for the total leading arm galaxies. It is found that the rotation axes of leading arm galaxies tend to be oriented perpendicular the equatorial plane. A random alignment is noticed in the PA-distribution of leading and trailing spirals.

For this, a line element of Schwarzschild de-Sitter space-time is used to study the effect of cosmological constant ($Λ$) on the motion of both massive and massless particles. Using rotation curve data of 15 nearby spiral and barred spiral galaxies, we estimated the mass and $Λ$ of the galaxy. The mass of the galaxies are found to lie in the range 0.13-7.60 $\times$ 10$^{40}$ kg. The cosmological constant ($Λ$) is found to be negative ($-$0.03 to $-$0.10 $\times$ 10$^{-40}$ km$^{-2}$), suggesting the importance of anti-de Sitter space in the local bubble. Possible explanation of the results will be discussed.
