We study near-infrared (JHK) and X-ray light curves of Cyg X-3 obtained with the 2.5-m telescope of the Caucasian Mountain Observatory of MSU SAI and collected from RXTE ASM and MAXI archives. The light curves in the X-ray and IR domains are strongly affected by irregular variations. However, the mean curves are remarkably stable and qualitatively similar in both domains. This means that the IR flux of the system originates not only from the free-free radiation of the WR wind but also from a compact IR source located near the relativistic companion. The shape of the mean X-ray and IR light curves suggest the existence of two additional structures in the WR wind - a bow shock near the relativistic companion and a so-called "clumpy trail" (Vilhu et al. 2013). Modeling of the mean X-ray and IR light curves allowed us to obtain important system parameters: the orbital phase of the superior conjunction of the relativistic companion $φ_0=-0.066\pm 0.006$, the orbital inclination angle $i=29.5^\circ\pm 1.2^\circ$, and the WR mass-loss rate $\dot{M} = (0.96\pm 0.14)\times 10^{-5}\rm M_\odot yr^{-1}$. By using relations between $\dot{M}$ and the rate of the period change and between $\dot{M}$ and the WR mass, we estimated the probable mass of the relativistic companion $M_{\rm C}\simeq 7.2\rm M_\odot$ which points towards the black hole hypothesis. However, this estimate is based on the assumption of a smooth WR wind. Considering the uncertainty associated with clum**, the mass-loss rate can be lower which leaves room for the neutron star hypothesis.

We apply two models (L96, A13) to probe the optical space-based light curves from {\em BRITE-Constellation}, including three separate, complete eclipses, that show increased (o-c) scatter compared to the rest of the observations outside the eclipses, likely due to O-star light encountering WR wind-clumps. L96 is a simple atmospheric-eclipse model, often applied to close WR+O binaries, where the O-star is considered a point-source. A13 considers a finite-disk O-star and allows for atmospheric, photospheric and reflection components to the eclipse, permitting a better characterization of its shape through a more physically realistic description of the structures for both stars in WR22. Nevertheless, A13 is still susceptible to uncertainties in the luminosity of the O-star before unique values for the orbital inclination and WR mass-loss rate can be estimated. We present solutions for the two extremes of the O-star, O9V and O9III. As photometry alone cannot allow us to discriminate between these, we compared our results to the spectral models found in the literature and determined the correct solution to be O9V. Our best-fit A13 Model 1 gives $i = 83.5 \pm 0.4^{\circ}$, with $\dot M_{\rm WR} = (1.86 \pm 0.2) \times 10^{-5} \dot M_{\odot}/yr$. The flux ratio in the red {\em BRITE} band in this model is $F_{\rm O}/F_{\rm WR} = 0.064\pm 0.002$.

We report the discovery of a relatively bright eclipsing binary system, which consists of a white dwarf and a main sequence K7 star with clear signs of chromospheric and spot activity. The light curve of this system shows $\sim0.2$mag ellipsoidal variability with a period of 0.297549d and a short total eclipse of the white dwarf. Based on our analysis of the spectral and photometric data, we estimated the parameters of the system. The K7V star is tidally deformed but does not fill its Roche lobe (the filling factor is about 0.86). The orbital inclination is $i=73^\circ.1\pm 0^\circ.2$, the mass ratio is $q=M_2/M_1\approx 0.88$. The parameters of the K7V star are $M_2\approx 0.64$M$_{\odot}$, $R_2=0.645\pm 0.012$R$_{\odot}$, $T_2\approx 4070$K. The parameters of the white dwarf are $M_1\approx 0.72$M$_{\odot}$, $R_1=0.013\pm 0.003$R$_{\odot}$, $T_1=8700\pm 1100$K. Photometric observations in different bands revealed that the maximum depth of the eclipse is in the \textit{SDSS r} filter, which is unusual for a system of a white dwarf and a late main sequence star. We suspect that this system is a product of the evolution of a common envelope binary star, and that the white dwarf accretes the stellar wind from the secondary star (the so-called low-accretion rate polar, LARP).

INTEGRAL IBIS/ISGRI 18-60 keV observations of SS433 performed in 2003-2011 enabled the hard X-ray phase-resolved orbital and precessional light curves and spectra to be constructed. The spectra can be fitted by a power-law with photon index $\simeq 3.8$ and remain almost constant while the X-ray flux varies by a factor of a few. This suggests that the hard X-ray emission is produced in an extended quasi-isothermal hot 'corona' surrounding central parts of a supercritical accretion disc. A joint analysis of the broadband 18-60 keV orbital and precessional light curves was performed in the model assuming a significant Roche lobe overfilling by the optical star, up to its filling the outer Lagrangian surface enabling mass loss through the outer Lagrangian L$_2$ point. From this modeling, the relativistic-to-optical component mass ratio $q=M_x/M_v\gtrsim0.4÷0.8$ is estimated. An analysis of the observed long-term stability of the orbital period of SS433 with an account of the recent observations of SS433 by the VLTI GRAVITY interferometer enabled an independent mass ratio estimate $q>0.6$. This estimate in combination with the radial velocity semi-amplitude for stationary He II emission, $K_x=168\pm 18$ km/s (Hillwig et al 2004) suggests the optical component mass in SS433 $M_v>12 M_\odot$. Thus, the mass of the relativistic component in SS433 is $M_x>7 M_\odot$, which is close to the mean mass of black holes in X-ray binaries ($\sim 8 M_\odot$). The large binary mass ratio in SS433 allows us to understand why there is no common envelope in this binary at the secondary mass transfer evolutionary stage and the system remains semi-detached (van den Heuvel et al. 2017). We also discuss unsolved issues and outline prospects for further study of SS433.

An exact calculation of CaI $λ6439.075$A absorption profiles in the spectra of optical stars in low-mass X-ray binary systems with black holes (BH LMXBs) is carried out. We show that the approximation of a real Roche lobe filling star as disk with uniform local line profile and linear limb darkening law leads to overestimation of projected equatorial rotational velocity $V_{rot} \sin i$ and accordingly, underestimation of mass ratio $q=M_x/M_v$. Refined value of $q$ does not affect the mass of a black hole, but the mass of an optical star has shrunk $\sim 1.5$ times. We present refined components masses in low-mass X-ray binaries with black holes. Companion masses in BH LMXBs are found in the mass range 0.1 - 1.6 $M_{\odot}$ with the peak at $M_v \simeq 0.35 M_{\odot}$. This finding poses additional problem for the standard evolutionary scenarios of BH LMXBs formation with a common envelope phase (CE). We also discuss the implications of these masses into the evolutionary history of the binary.

There is a mismatch between modelled and observed distributions of optical stars masses in BH LMXB. Companion masses in BH LMXB are found in the mass range 0.1 - 1.6 $M_{\odot}$ with the peak at 0.6 $M_{\odot}$. The standard evolutionary scenarios require the donor mass distribution peaks to be at least $\sim 1\, M_{\odot}$ to eject a massive envelope of the black hole progenitor. Imperfect of the methods of optical stars masses determination may cause this difference.
Two common used approximations of real Roche lobe filling star as distortion sources have been tested. On the one hand, there is the a approximation of real Roche lobe filling optical stars as sphere. We tested rotational broadening of absorption lines based on an exact calculation of CaI $λ6439.075 \, Å$ absorption profiles in the spectra of Roche lobe filling optical stars. There is overestimation of projected equatorial rotational velocity $V_{rot} \sin i$ and, accordingly, underestimation of mass ratio $q=M_x/M_v$ in the spherical star model. On the other hand, the approximation of a real Roche lobe filling star as disk with uniform local profile and linear limb darkening law is more rough. In this case overestimation of projected equatorial rotational velocity $V_{rot} \sin i$ is $ \sim 20\%$. Such overestimation of $V_{rot} \sin i$ can result in significant underestimation of mass ratio $q=M_x/M_v$ at hight value of $q=M_x/M_v$. Refined value of $q$ does not affect the mass of a black hole, but the mass of an optical star has shrunk 1.5 times. Hence, the masses of optical stars in BH LMXB must be corrected downward, despite the contradictions to the standard evolutionary scenarios.

The K-correction is taken to be the ratio of the radial velocity semiamplitude for a star in the Roche model to the corresponding value for the stellar barycenter. K-corrections are tabulated for the optical stars in the massive X-ray binaries Cen X-3, LMC X-4, SMC X-1, Vela X-1, and 4U 1538-52.

The 40-60 keV orbital light curve demonstrates two almost equal humps at phases \sim 0.25 and \sim 0.75, most likely due to nutation effects of the accretion disk. The nutational variability of SS433 in 15-50 keV with a period of 6.290 days is independently found from timing analysis of Swift/BAT data. The change of the off-eclipse 18-60 keV X-ray flux with the precessional phase shows a double-wave form with strong primary maximum at psi_{pr}= 0 and weak but significant secondary maximum at psi_{pr}= 0.6. A weak variability of the 18-60 keV flux in the middle of the orbital eclipse correlated with the disk precessional phase is also observed. The joint analysis of the broadband 18-60 keV orbital and precessional light curves confirms the presence of a hot extended corona in the central parts of the supercritical accretion disk and constrains the binary mass ratio in SS433 in the range 0.5>q>0.3, suggesting the black hole nature of the compact object.

Consequences of possible anisotropy of the X-ray radiation are considered. We obtain relations between the masses of the optical and compact (X-ray) components, mv and mx, for orbital inclinations i=60, 75, 90 degrees. Including X-ray heating enabled us to reduce the compact object's mass by near 0.5-1Msun, compared to the case with no heating. Based on the K0III spectral type of the optical component (with a probable mass of mv=2.9Msun, we concluded that mx=2.45-2.55Msun (for i=75-90 degrees). If the K0III star has lost a substantial part of its mass as a result of mass exchange, as in the V404 Cyg and GRS 1905+105 systems, and its mass is $m_v=0.65-0.75Msun, the compact object's mass is close to the standard mass of a neutron star, mx=1.4Msun (for i=75-90 degrees). Thus, it is probable that the X-ray source in the 2S 0921-630 binary is an accreting neutron star.

We have analyzed the dependence between the component masses and the degree of filling of the optical star's Roche lobe to obtain the ratio of the masses of the optical star and compact object. For the most probable mass of the optical star, $m_v=70M_{\odot}$, the mass of the compact object is $m_x=15.55\pm3.20 M_{\odot}$. It has been shown that black holes with masses of $m_x=15M_{\odot}$ and even higher can form in binaries. We present characteristic evolutionary tracks for binary systems passing through an evolutionary stage with properties similar to M33 X-7 - type objects. According to population-synthesis analyses, such binaries should be present in galaxies with masses of at least $10^{11}M_{\odot}$. The present number of such systems in M33 should be of the order of unity. We have also studied the evolutionary status of the X-ray binary IC 10 X-1 with a Wolf-Rayet component, which may contain a massive black hole. The analysis of hard X-ray INTEGRAL observations (2003-2008) of superaccreting galactic microquasar SS433 at precessional phases of the source with the maximum disk opening angle is carried out. It is found that the shape and width of the primary X-ray eclipse is strongly variable suggesting additional absorption in dense stellar wind and gas outflows from the optical A7I-component and the wind-wind collision region. The independence of the observed hard X-ray spectrum on the accretion disk precessional phase suggests that hard X-ray emission (20-100 keV) is formed in an extended, hot, quasi-isothermal corona, probably heated by interaction of relativistic jet with inhomogeneous wind outflow from the precessing supercritical accretion disk. A joint modeling of X-ray eclipsing and precessional hard X-ray variability of SS433 revealed by INTEGRAL by a geometrical model suggests the binary mass ratio $q=m_x/m_v\simeq 0.25÷0.5$. The absolute minimum of joint orbital and precessional $χ^2$ residuals is reached at $q\simeq 0.3$. The found binary mass ratio range allows us to explain the substantial precessional variability of the minimum brightness at the middle of the primary optical eclipse. For the mass function of the optical star $f_v=0.268 M_\odot$ as derived from Hillwig & Gies data, the obtained value of $q\simeq 0.3$ yields the masses of the components $m_x\simeq 5.3 M_\odot$, $m_v\simeq 17.7 M_\odot$, confirming the black hole nature of the compact object in SS433.

The analysis of INTEGRAL observations (2003-2008) of superaccreting galactic microquasar SS433 at precessional phases with the maximum disk opening angle is carried out. The shape and width of the primary X-ray eclipse is found to be strongly variable suggesting additional absorption in dense stellar wind and gas outflows from the optical A7I-component. The joint modeling of X-ray eclipse and precessional X-ray variability by a geometrical model suggests the binary mass ratio q=m_x/m_v=0.3, allowing an explnation of peculiarities of the optical variability of SS433, in particular, the substantial precessional variability at the primary optical eclipse minimum. For the mass function of the optical star f_v=0.268 M_\odot as derived from Hillwig and Gies (2008) data, the obtained q yields the masses of the components m_x=5 M_\odot, m_v=15 M_\odot, confirming the black hole nature of the relativistic object in SS433. The independence of the observed hard X-ray spectrum on the precession phase suggests that hard X-ray emission is formed in an extended hot corona. The Monte-Carlo simulations of the broadband X-ray spectrum of SS433 at the maximum disk opening precessional phases allowed us to determine physical parameters of the corona (temperature T_{cor}=20 keV, Thomson optical depth τ=0.2), and to estimate the jet mass outflow rate \dot M_j=3\times 10^{19} g/s yielding the kinetic power of the jets \sim 10^{39} erg/s.

Hard X-ray INT observations of SS 433 carried out during 2003-2005 years with an analysis of precessional and orbital variability is presented. The width of X-ray eclipse in the 25-50 keV range at the precessional phase $ψ=0.1$ (accretion disk is open to observer) is higher than that in the Ginga 18.4-27.6 keV range. This fact suggests existance the presence of hot extended corona around the supercritical accretion disk. Spectrum of hard X-rays in the range 10-200 keV does not change with the precessional phase which also suggests that hard X-ray flux is generated in the hot extended corona around the accretion disk. The parameters of this hot corona are: kT=23-25 keV, τ= 1.8-2.8. Mass ratio estimated from the analysis of the ingress part of the eclipse light curve is in the range q=m_x/m_v=0.3-0.5.

We summarize the results of a multiwavelength observing campaign on the massive eclipsing binary CPD-41deg7742, another remarkable object in the young open cluster NGC 6231. Our campaign relies on high resolution echelle spectroscopy, narrow-band optical photometry, and XMM-Newton X-ray observations. Combined with the spectroscopic analysis, the light curve analysis provides a direct measurement of the masses and sizes of the system components. However, the most outstanding results come from the XMM-Newton observations. Our 180 ks campaign towards NGC 6231, and CPD-41deg7742, provides an unprecedented phase coverage of such a close early-type binary. The EPIC-MOS light curves almost fully cover the 2.4 day period of the system and the brightness of the object is sufficient to yield a time resolution as tight as 1 ks. The X-ray flux presents clear variations along the orbit, that we interpret as the signature of an unusual wind interaction. We indeed expect that, in this O+B system, the dominant primary wind crashes into the secondary surface, leading to a wind-photosphere interaction. As a strong support to our interpretation, we provide a geometrical model that associates an extra X-ray emission to the secondary inner surface. Though quite simple, the present model matches the main features of the X-ray light curve.

In the first paper of this series, we presented a detailed high-resolution spectroscopic study of CPD - 41degr7742, deriving for the first time an orbital solution for both components of the system. In this second paper, we focus on the analysis of the optical light curve and on recent XMM-Newton X-ray observations. In the optical, the system presents two eclipses, yielding an inclination i ~ 77degr. Combining the constraints from the photometry with the results of our previous work, we derive the absolute parameters of the system. We confirm that the two components of CPD - 41degr7742 are main sequence stars (O9 V + B1-1.5 V) with masses (M_1 ~ 18 Msol and M_2 ~ 10 Msol) and respective radii (R_1 ~ 7.5 Rsol and R_2 ~ 5.4 Rsol) close to the typical values expected for such stars. We also report an unprecedented set of X-ray observations that almost uniformly cover the 2.44-day orbital cycle. The X-ray emission from CPD - 41degr7742 is well described by a two-temperature thermal plasma model with energies close to 0.6 and 1.0 keV, thus slightly harder than typical early-type emission. The X-ray light curve shows clear signs of variability. The emission level is higher when the primary is in front of the secondary. During the high emission state, the system shows a drop of its X-ray emission that almost exactly matches the optical eclipse. We interpret the main features of the X-ray light curve as the signature of a wind-photosphere interaction, in which the overwhelming primary O9 star wind crashes into the secondary surface. Alternatively the light curve could result from a wind-wind interaction zone located near the secondary star surface. As a support to our interpretation, we provide a phenomenological geometric model that qualitatively reproduces the observed modulations of the X-ray emission.

Results of simultaneous INTEGRAL and optical observations of galactic microquasar SS433 in May 2003 and INTEGRAL/RXTE observations in March 2004 are presented. Persistent precessional variability with a maximum to minimum uneclipsed hard X-ray flux ratio of \sim 4 is discovered. The 18-60 keV X-ray eclipse is found to be in phase with optical and near infrared eclipses. The orbital eclipse observed by INTEGRAL in May 2003 is at least two times deeper and apparently wider than in soft X-ray band. The broadband X-ray spectrum 2-100 keV simultaneously detected by RXTE/INTEGRAL in March 2004 can be described by bremsstrahlung emission from optically thin thermal plasma with kT\sim 30 keV. The optical spectroscopy with the 6-m SAO BTA telescope confirmed the optical companion to be an A5-A7 supergiant. For the first time, spectorscopic indications of a strong heating effect in the optical star atmosphere are found. The measurements of absorption lines which are presumably formed in the non-illuminated side of the supergiant yield its radial velocity semi-amplitude K_v=132\pm 9 km/s. The analysis of the observed hard X-ray light curve and the eclipse duration, combined with spectroscopically found optical star radial velocity corrected for the strong heating effect, allows us to model SS433 as a massive X-ray binary. Assuming that the hard X-ray source in SS433 is eclipsed by the donor star that exactly fills its Roche lobe, the masses of the optical and compact components in SS433 are suggested to be M_v\approx 30 M_\odot and M_x\approx 9M_\odot, respectively. This provides further evidence that SS433 is a massive binary system with supercritical accretion onto a black hole.

The analysis of the X-ray and optical eclipse duration and hard X-ray spectra obtained by {\it INTEGRAL} together with optical spectroscopy obtained on the 6-m telescope allows us to construct a model of SS433 as a massive X-ray binary. X-ray eclipse in hard X-rays has a depth of $\sim 80%$ and extended wings. The optical spectroscopy allows us to identify the optical companion as a A5-A7 supergiant and to measure its radial velocity semi-amplitude $K_v=132$ km/s. A strong heating effect in the optical star atmosphere is discovered spectroscopically.
