We have repeated the experiment performed recently by Krasznahorkay et al., (Phys. Rev. Lett. 116, 042501 (2016)), which may indicate a new particle called X17 in the literature. In order to get a reliable, and independent result, we used a different type of electron-positron pair spectrometer which have a more simple acceptance/efficiency as a function of the correlation angle, but the other conditions of the experiment were very similar to the published ones. We could confirm the presence of the anomaly measured at the E$_x$=18.15 MeV resonance, and also confirm their absence at the E$_x$=17.6 MeV resonance, and at E$_p$= 800 keV off resonance energies.

Generalized linear regressions, such as logistic regressions or Poisson regressions, are long-studied regression analysis approaches, and their applications are widely employed in various classification problems. Our study considers a stochastic generalized linear regression model as a stochastic problem with chance constraints and tackles it using nonconvex programming techniques. Clustering techniques and quantile estimation are also used to estimate random data's mean and variance-covariance matrix. Metrics for measuring the performance of logistic regression are used to assess the model's efficacy, including the F1 score, precision score, and recall score. The results of the proposed algorithm were over 1 to 2 percent better than the ordinary logistic regression model on the same dataset with the above assessment criteria.

Despite notable results on standard aerial datasets, current state-of-the-arts fail to produce accurate building footprints in dense areas due to challenging properties posed by these areas and limited data availability. In this paper, we propose a framework to address such issues in polygonal building extraction. First, super resolution is employed to enhance the spatial resolution of aerial image, allowing for finer details to be captured. This enhanced imagery serves as input to a multitask learning module, which consists of a segmentation head and a frame field learning head to effectively handle the irregular building structures. Our model is supervised by adaptive loss weighting, enabling extraction of sharp edges and fine-grained polygons which is difficult due to overlap** buildings and low data quality. Extensive experiments on a slum area in India that mimics a dense area demonstrate that our proposed approach significantly outperforms the current state-of-the-art methods by a large margin.

In this paper, we investigate to the existence and uniqueness of periodic solutions for the parabolic-elliptic Keller-Segel system on whole spaces detailized by Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^n\,\,(\hbox{ where }n \geqslant 4)$ and real hyperbolic space $\mathbb{H}^n\,\, (\hbox{where }n \geqslant 2)$. We work in framework of scritical spaces such as on weak-Lorentz space $L^{\frac{n}{2},\infty}(\mathbb{R}^n)$ to obtain the results for Keller-Segel system on $\mathbb{R}^n$ and on $L^{\frac{p}{2}}(\mathbb{H}^n)$ for $n<p<2n$ to obtain the ones on $\mathbb{H}^n$. Our method is based on the dispersive and smoothing estimates of the heat semigroup and fixed point arguments. This work provides also a fully comparison between the asymptotic behaviours of periodic mild solutions of Keller-Segel system obtained in $\mathbb{R}^n$ and the one in $\mathbb{H}^n$.

The prevalence of memes on social media has created the need to sentiment analyze their underlying meanings for censoring harmful content. Meme censoring systems by machine learning raise the need for a semi-supervised learning solution to take advantage of the large number of unlabeled memes available on the internet and make the annotation process less challenging. Moreover, the approach needs to utilize multimodal data as memes' meanings usually come from both images and texts. This research proposes a multimodal semi-supervised learning approach that outperforms other multimodal semi-supervised learning and supervised learning state-of-the-art models on two datasets, the Multimedia Automatic Misogyny Identification and Hateful Memes dataset. Building on the insights gained from Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training, which is an effective multimodal learning technique, this research introduces SemiMemes, a novel training method that combines auto-encoder and classification task to make use of the resourceful unlabeled data.

In this paper, we show that depending on the sign of the electric charge $Q$, the charged AdS black hole (BH) possesses two alternative facets when the cosmological constant is identified to the thermodynamic pressure $P$. It is discovered that: 1) the equation of state of BH corresponds to $Q>0$ and when $Q$ changes from $Q>0$ to $Q<0$ we obtain the equation of state (EOS) of white hole (WH); 2) Based on the WH equation of state we found the phase transition from small to large WHs which behaves like the liquid $-$ gas phase transition at negative temperature, $T<0$, and, at the same time, its entropy equals with minus sign the entropy of BH. As a consequence, the latent heat $ΔH_{WH}(T)$ which releases in this process equals with minus sign the latent heat of BH, too; 3) Finally, the probability of the quantum tunneling from the BH to the WH is obtained. We suggest the perspective of application of the results above to the AdS/CFT duality.

The primary objective of this paper is to investigate the modified Leray-alpha equation on the two-dimensional sphere $\mathbb{S}^2$, the square torus $\mathbb{T}^2$ and the three-torus $\mathbb{T}^3$. In the strategy, we prove the existence and the uniqueness of the weak solutions and also the existence of the global attractor for the equation. Then we establish the upper and lower bounds of the Hausdorff and fractal dimensions of the global attractor on both $\mathbb{S}^2$ and $\mathbb{T}^2$. Our method is based on the estimates for the vorticity scalar equations and the stationary solutions around the invariant manifold that are constructed by using the Kolmogorov flows. Finally, we will use the results on $\mathbb{T}^2$ to study the lower bound for attractor's dimensions on the case of $\mathbb{T}^3$.

In this article, we use the monotonic optimization approach to propose an outcome-space outer approximation by copolyblocks for solving strictly quasiconvex multiobjective programming problems and especially in the case that the objective functions are nonlinear fractional. After the algorithm is terminated, with any given tolerance, we obtain an approximation of the weakly efficient solution set, that contains the whole weakly efficient solution set of the problem. The algorithm is proved to be convergent and it is suitable to be implemented in parallel using standard convex programming tools. Some computational experiments are reported to show the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.

STEM has attracted great consideration. The purpose of research is: (1) study STEM education, (2) explore STEM education with the creative and experiential activity, (3) suggest applying STEM education by designing technical toys for the middle school student. This study used a qualitative approach to carry out teaching integration for STEM education. The study applied to teaching the technological field in Vietnamese middle schools. The design performed at the Faculty of Technology Education, Hanoi National University of Education, Vietnam in April 2015. This study used the integrated approach to design subjects for STEM education. Two procedures for integration undertook with analysis. A sample of producing technical toy was consistent with develo** students competencies. Integrated approach to STEM education through designing technical toys is possible. Recently, there has been a booming interest in Integrated Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education, but the approaches to STEM still remains controversial in diverse educational contexts. This study addressed this issue by exploring STEM education with the use of creative and experiential activities in a Vietnamese educational context. It also proposed a practical model for integrating STEM into teaching technology in secondary schools by designing technical toys. The implementation of the practical model suggests the possibility in using the integrated approach to STEM education through designing technical toys for middle school students in Vietnam. By applying the subject knowledge domains to solve real world problems and settings, the students can experience the benefits of a concrete and active learning in a meaningful and practical context. The multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary integration approaches are consistent with the development of the students competencies.

The topological Lifshitz phase transition is studied systematically within an effective model of QCD, in which the chiral symmetry, broken at zero temperature, is not restored at high temperature and/or baryon chemical potential. It is found that during phase transition the quark system undergoes a first-order transition from low density fully-gapped state to high density state with Fermi sphere which is protected by momentum-space topology. The Lifshitz phase diagram in the plane of temperature and baryon chemical potential is established. The critical behaviors of various equations of state are determined.

The Cornwall-Jackiw-Tomboulis (CJT) effective action for composite operators at finite temperature is used to investigate the chiral phase transition within the framework of the linear sigma model as the low-energy effective model of quantum chromodynamics (QCD). A new renormalization prescription for the CJT effective action in the Hartree-Fock (HF) approximation is proposed. A numerical study, which incorporates both thermal and quantum effect, shows that in this approximation the phase transition is of first order. However, taking into account the higher-loop diagrams contribution the order of phase transition is unchanged.

Considering neutrinos as time-like leptons one may estimate the three-body decay probability of muon neutrinos in long base-line accelerator experiments. In the extreme assumption of time-space symmetry the absolute value of the transcendent mass of a muon neutrino is equal to the rest mass of its bradyon partner which is, however, strongly suppressed in measurements using the weak interaction. This decay, neglecting small oscillations or other effects, leads to a strong dependence of the effect on the base-line distance. As a result, few hundred kilometre long baseline experiments might hardly see muon-like events. Total rates of electron-like events from three-body decay are calculated for K2K, MINOS and ICARUS. Shorter base-line experiments able to see clearly the effect of muon neutrino decay are very promissing component of long base-line projects.
