Split-step quantum walk operators can be expressed as a generalised version of CMV operators with complex transmission coefficients, which we call rotated CMV operators. Following the idea of Cantero, Moral and Velazquez's original construction of the original CMV operators from the theory of orthogonal polynomials on the unit circle (OPUC), we show that rotated CMV operators can be constructed similarly via a rotated version of OPUCs with respect to the same measure, and admit an analogous LM-factorisation as the original CMV operators. We also develop the rotated second kind polynomials corresponding to the rotated OPUCs. We then use the LM-factorisation of rotated alternate CMV operators to compute the Gesztesy-Zinchenko transfer matrices for rotated CMV operators.

Abstract:
We present highly sampled photometry of the supernova (SN) 2023ixf, a Type II SN in M101, beginning 2 days before its first known detection. To gather these data, we enlisted the global Unistellar Network of citizen scientists. These 252 observations from 115 telescopes show the SN's rising brightness associated with shock emergence followed by gradual decay. We measure a peak $M_{V}$ = -18.18…

To gather these data, we enlisted the global Unistellar Network of citizen scientists. These 252 observations from 115 telescopes show the SN's rising brightness associated with shock emergence followed by gradual decay. We measure a peak $M_{V}$ = -18.18 $\pm$ 0.09 mag at 2023-05-25 21:37 UTC in agreement with previously published analyses.

Abstract:
A series of $1T$-Fe$_x$Ta$_{1-x}$SSe (0 $\leq x \leq$ 0.1) single crystals was fabricated via the chemical-vapor-transport (CVT) method and investigated by structure, transport, and magnetic measurements along with the density-functional-theory (DFT) calculations. The superconductivity (SC) in parent $1T$-TaSSe can be gradually suppressed by Fe-substitution ($x\leq0.03$), accompanied by the disapp…

The superconductivity (SC) in parent $1T$-TaSSe can be gradually suppressed by Fe-substitution ($x\leq0.03$), accompanied by the disappearance of charge-density-wave (CDW). DFT calculations show that the Fe-substitution effectively inhibits the CDW superstructure and thereby the CDW domains are destroyed. With further increasing $x$ ($x>0.03$), the disorder-induced scattering increases, and the system enters into the possible Anderson localization (AL) state. Our results prove the SC develops in the CDW phase and coexists with the CDW domain in $1T$-TaSSe system.

Layered transition-metal dichalcogenides 1T-TaS2-xSex (0<=x<=2) single crystals have been successfully fabricated by using a chemical vapor transport technique in which Ta locates in octahedral coordination with S and Se atoms. This is the first superconducting example by the substitution of S site, which violates an initial rule based on the fact that superconductivity merely emerges in 1T-TaS2 by applying the high pressure or substitution of Ta site. We demonstrate the appearance of a series of electronic states in 1T-TaS2-xSex with Se content. Namely, the Mott phase melts into a nearly commensurate charge-density-wave (NCCDW) phase, superconductivity in a wide x range develops within the NCCDW state, and finally commensurate charge-density-wave (CCDW) phase reproduces for heavy Se content. The present results reveal that superconductivity is only characterized by robust Ta 5d band, demonstrating the universal nature in 1T-TaS2 systems that superconductivity and NCCDW phase coexist in the real space.
