Abstract:
In this paper, for a soliton surface $Ω=Ω(u,v)$ associated with the Betchov-Da Rios equation, we obtain the derivative formulas of an extended Darboux frame field of a unit speed curve $u$-parameter curve $Ω=Ω(u,v)$ for all $v$. Also, we get the geometric invariants $k$ and $h$ of the soliton surface $Ω=Ω(u,v)$ and we obtain the Gaussian curvature, mean curvature vector and Gaussian torsion of…

We give some important geometric characterizations such as flatness, minimality and semi-umbilicaly with the aid of these invariants. Additionally, we study the curvature ellipse of the Betchov-Da Rios soliton surface and Wintgen ideal (superconformal) Betchov-Da Rios soliton surface with respect to an extended Darboux frame field. Finally, we construct an application for the Betchov-Da Rios soliton surface with the aid of an extended Darboux frame field.

This paper presents an extensive empirical study on the integration of dimensionality reduction techniques with advanced unsupervised time series anomaly detection models, focusing on the MUTANT and Anomaly-Transformer models. The study involves a comprehensive evaluation across three different datasets: MSL, SMAP, and SWaT. Each dataset poses unique challenges, allowing for a robust assessment of the models' capabilities in varied contexts. The dimensionality reduction techniques examined include PCA, UMAP, Random Projection, and t-SNE, each offering distinct advantages in simplifying high-dimensional data. Our findings reveal that dimensionality reduction not only aids in reducing computational complexity but also significantly enhances anomaly detection performance in certain scenarios. Moreover, a remarkable reduction in training times was observed, with reductions by approximately 300\% and 650\% when dimensionality was halved and minimized to the lowest dimensions, respectively. This efficiency gain underscores the dual benefit of dimensionality reduction in both performance enhancement and operational efficiency. The MUTANT model exhibits notable adaptability, especially with UMAP reduction, while the Anomaly-Transformer demonstrates versatility across various reduction techniques. These insights provide a deeper understanding of the synergistic effects of dimensionality reduction and anomaly detection, contributing valuable perspectives to the field of time series analysis. The study underscores the importance of selecting appropriate dimensionality reduction strategies based on specific model requirements and dataset characteristics, paving the way for more efficient, accurate, and scalable solutions in anomaly detection.

Abstract:
In this paper, we investigate the interpolation of surfaces which are obtained from an isoasymptotic curve in 3D-Euclidean space. We prove that there exist a unique $ C^0 $-Hermite surface interpolation related to an isoasymptotic curve under some special conditions on the marching scale functions. Finally, we present some examples and plot their graphs.

Deep-learning based computer vision models have proved themselves to be ground-breaking approaches to human activity recognition (HAR). However, most existing works are dedicated to improve the prediction accuracy through either creating new model architectures, increasing model complexity, or refining model parameters by training on larger datasets. Here, we propose an alternative idea, differing from existing work, to increase model accuracy and also to shape model predictions to align with human understandings through automatically creating higher-level summarizing labels for similar groups of human activities. First, we argue the importance and feasibility of constructing a hierarchical labeling system for human activity recognition. Then, we utilize the predictions of a black box HAR model to identify similarities between different activities. Finally, we tailor hierarchical clustering methods to automatically generate hierarchical trees of activities and conduct experiments. In this system, the activity labels on the same level will have a designed magnitude of accuracy and reflect a specific amount of activity details. This strategy enables a trade-off between the extent of the details in the recognized activity and the user privacy by masking some sensitive predictions; and also provides possibilities for the use of formerly prohibited invasive models in privacy-concerned scenarios. Since the hierarchy is generated from the machine's perspective, the predictions at the upper levels provide better accuracy, which is especially useful when there are too detailed labels in the training set that are rather trivial to the final prediction goal. Moreover, the analysis of the structure of these trees can reveal the biases in the prediction model and guide future data collection strategies.
