The distance between the true and numerical solutions in some metric is considered as the discretization error magnitude. If error magnitude ranging is known, the triangle inequality enables the estimation of the vicinity of the approximate solution that contains the exact one (exact solution enclosure). The analysis of distances between the numerical solutions enables discretization error ranging, if solutions errors are significantly different. Numerical tests conducted using the steady supersonic flows, governed by the two dimensional Euler equations, demonstrate the properties of the exact solution enclosure. The set of solutions generated by solvers of different orders of approximation is used. The success of this approach depends on the choice of metric.

For an oriented 2-dimensional manifold $Σ$ of genus $g$ with $n$ boundary components the space $\mathbb{C}π_1(Σ)/[\mathbb{C}π_1(Σ), \mathbb{C}π_1(Σ)]$ carries the Goldman-Turaev Lie bialgebra structure defined in terms of intersections and self-intersections of curves. Its associated graded (under the natural filtration) is described by cyclic words in $H_1(Σ)$ and carries the structure of a necklace Schedler Lie bialgebra. The isomorphism between these two structures in genus zero has been established in [G. Massuyeau, Formal descriptions of Turaev's loop operations] using Kontsevich integrals and in [A. Alekseev, N. Kawazumi, Y. Kuno and F. Naef, The Goldman-Turaev Lie bialgebra in genus zero and the Kashiwara-Vergne problem] using solutions of the Kashiwara-Vergne problem.
In this note we give an elementary proof of this isomorphism over $\mathbb{C}$. It uses the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov connection on $\mathbb{C}\backslash\{ z_1, \dots z_n\}$. The proof of the isomorphism for Lie brackets is a version of the classical result by Hitchin. Surprisingly, it turns out that a similar proof applies to cobrackets.

We have observed a bulk moment-screening effect in nominally pure and Gd-doped SmB6 via heat capacity, magnetization, and resistivity measurements, and show this new Kondo-impurity like effect provides an unexpected but intuitive explanation for metal-like phenomena stemming from the strongly interacting host system. This affords a coherent understanding for decades of mysteries in strongly-correlated insulators, reveals the expanded utility of techniques previously only utilized for metals, and presents the novel effect of even highly-dilute impurities in strongly correlated insulators.

In this paper, we describe a surprising link between the theory of the Goldman-Turaev Lie bialgebra on surfaces of genus zero and the Kashiwara-Vergne (KV) problem in Lie theory. Let $Σ$ be an oriented 2-dimensional manifold with non-empty boundary and $\mathbb{K}$ a field of characteristic zero. The Goldman-Turaev Lie bialgebra is defined by the Goldman bracket $\{ -,- \}$ and Turaev cobracket $δ$ on the $\mathbb{K}$-span of homotopy classes of free loops on $Σ$.
Applying an expansion $θ: \mathbb{K}π\to \mathbb{K}\langle x_1, \dots, x_n \rangle$ yields an algebraic description of the operations $\{ -,- \}$ and $δ$ in terms of non-commutative variables $x_1, \dots, x_n$. If $Σ$ is a surface of genus $g=0$ the lowest degree parts $\{ -,- \}_{-1}$ and $δ_{-1}$ are canonically defined (and independent of $θ$). They define a Lie bialgebra structure on the space of cyclic words which was introduced and studied by T. Schedler. It was conjectured by the second and the third authors that one can define an expansion $θ$ such that $\{ -,- \}=\{ -,- \}_{-1}$ and $δ=δ_{-1}$. The main result of this paper states that for surfaces of genus zero constructing such an expansion is essentially equivalent to the KV problem. G. Massuyeau constructed such expansions using the Kontsevich integral.
In order to prove this result, we show that the Turaev cobracket $δ$ can be constructed in terms of the double bracket (upgrading the Goldman bracket) and the non-commutative divergence cocycle which plays the central role in the KV theory. Among other things, this observation gives a new topological interpretation of the KV problem and allows to extend it to surfaces with arbitrary number of boundary components (and of arbitrary genus, see [C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, Ser. I 355 (2017), 123--127]).

Descent equations play an important role in the theory of characteristic classes and find applications in theoretical physics, e.g. in the Chern-Simons field theory and in the theory of anomalies. The second Chern class (the first Pontrjagin class) is defined as $p= \langle F, F\rangle$ where $F$ is the curvature 2-form and $\langle \cdot, \cdot\rangle$ is an invariant scalar product on the corresponding Lie algebra $\mathfrak{g}$. The descent for $p$ gives rise to an element $ω=ω_3 + ω_2 + ω_1 + ω_0$ of mixed degree. The 3-form part $ω_3$ is the Chern-Simons form. The 2-form part $ω_2$ is known as the Wess-Zumino action in physics. The 1-form component $ω_1$ is related to the canonical central extension of the loop group $LG$.
In this paper, we give a new interpretation of the low degree components $ω_1$ and $ω_0$. Our main tool is the universal differential calculus on free Lie algebras due to Kontsevich. We establish a correspondence between solutions of the first Kashiwara-Vergne equation in Lie theory and universal solutions of the descent equation for the second Chern class $p$. In more detail, we define a 1-cocycle $C$ which maps automorphisms of the free Lie algebra to one forms. A solution of the Kashiwara-Vergne equation $F$ is mapped to $ω_1=C(F)$. Furthermore, the component $ω_0$ is related to the associator corresponding to $F$. It is surprising that while $F$ and $Φ$ satisfy the highly non-linear twist and pentagon equations, the elements $ω_1$ and $ω_0$ solve the linear descent equation.

The classes of electrovacuum Einstein - Maxwell fields (with a cosmological constant), which metrics admit an Abelian two-dimensional isometry group $\mathcal{G}_2$ with non-null orbits and electromagnetic fields possess the same symmetry, are considered. For these fields we describe the structures of so called "nondynamical degrees of freedom" which presence as well as the presence of a cosmological constant change (in a strikingly similar ways) the dynamical equations and destroy their known integrable structures. Modifications of the known reduced forms of Einstein - Maxwell equations -- the Ernst equations and self-dual Kinnersley equations in the presence of non-dynamical degrees of freedom are found and subclasses of fields with non-dynamical degrees of freedom are considered for : (I) vacuum metrics with cosmological constant, (II) vacuum space-times with isometry groups $\mathcal{G}_2$ which orbits do not admit the orthogonal 2-surfaces (none-orthogonally-transitive isometry groups) and (III) electrovacuum fields with more general structures of electromagnetic fields than in the known integrable cases. For these classes, in the case of diagonal metrics, the field equations can be reduced to the only nonlinear equation of the fourth order for one real function $α(x^1,x^2)$ which characterises the element of area on the orbits of the isometry group $\mathcal{G}_2$ . Simple examples of solutions for each of these classes are presented. It is pointed out that if for some two-dimensional reduction of Einstein's field equations in four or higher dimensions, the function $α(x^1,x^2)$ possess a "harmonic" structure, instead of being (together with other field variables) a solution of some nonlinear equations, this can be an indication of possible complete integrability of these reduced dynamical equations for the fields with vanishing of all non-dynamical degrees of freedom.

N-methylformamide, CH3NHCHO, may be an important molecule for interstellar pre-biotic chemistry because it contains a peptide bond. The rotational spectrum of the most stable trans conformer of CH3NHCHO is complicated by strong torsion-rotation interaction due to the low barrier of the methyl torsion. We use two absorption spectrometers in Kharkiv and Lille to measure the rotational spectra over 45--630 GHz. The analysis is carried out using the Rho-axis method and the RAM36 code. We search for N-methylformamide toward the hot molecular core Sgr B2(N2) using a spectral line survey carried out with ALMA. The astronomical results are put into a broader astrochemical context with the help of a gas-grain chemical kinetics model. The laboratory data set for the trans conformer of CH3NHCHO consists of 9469 line frequencies with J <= 62, including the first assignment of the rotational spectra of the first and second excited torsional states. All these lines are fitted within experimental accuracy. We report the tentative detection of CH3NHCHO towards Sgr B2(N2). We find CH3NHCHO to be more than one order of magnitude less abundant than NH2CHO, a factor of two less abundant than CH3NCO, but only slightly less abundant than CH3CONH2. The chemical models indicate that the efficient formation of HNCO via NH + CO on grains is a necessary step in the achievement of the observed gas-phase abundance of CH3NCO. Production of CH3NHCHO may plausibly occur on grains either through the direct addition of functional-group radicals or through the hydrogenation of CH3NCO. Provided the detection of CH3NHCHO is confirmed, the only slight underabundance of this molecule compared to its more stable structural isomer acetamide and the sensitivity of the model abundances to the chemical kinetics parameters suggest that the formation of these two molecules is controlled by kinetics rather than thermal equilibrium.

We study structural and chemical transformations induced by focused laser beam in GaAs nanowires with axial zinc-blende/wurtzite (ZB/WZ) heterostucture. The experiments are performed using a combination of transmission electron microscopy, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Raman scattering, and photoluminescence spectroscopy. For the both components of heterostructure, laser irradiation under atmospheric air is found to produce a double surface layer which is composed of crystalline arsenic and of amorphous GaO$_{x}$. The latter compound is responsible for appearance of a peak at 1.76 eV in photoluminescence spectra of GaAs nanowires. Under increased laser power density, due to sample heating, evaporation of the surface crystalline arsenic and formation of $β$-Ga$_{2}$O$_{3}$ nanocrystals proceed on surface of the zinc-blende part of nanowire. The formed nanocrystals reveal a photoluminescence band in visible range of 1.7-2.4 eV. At the same power density for wurtzite part of the nanowire, total amorphization with formation of $β$-Ga$_{2}$O$_{3}$ nanocrystals occurs. Observed transformation of WZ-GaAs to $β$-Ga$_{2}$O$_{3}$ nanocrystals presents an available way for creation of axial and radial heterostuctures ZB-GaAs/$β$-Ga$_{2}$O$_{3}$ for optoelectronic and photonic applications.

We define a family ${\rm KV}^{(g,n)}$ of Kashiwara-Vergne problems associated with compact connected oriented 2-manifolds of genus $g$ with $n+1$ boundary components. The problem ${\rm KV}^{(0,3)}$ is the classical Kashiwara-Vergne problem from Lie theory. We show the existence of solutions of ${\rm KV}^{(g,n)}$ for arbitrary $g$ and $n$. The key point is the solution of ${\rm KV}^{(1,1)}$ based on the results by B. Enriquez on elliptic associators. Our construction is motivated by applications to the formality problem for the Goldman-Turaev Lie bialgebra $\mathfrak{g}^{(g, n+1)}$. In more detail, we show that every solution of ${\rm KV}^{(g,n)}$ induces a Lie bialgebra isomorphism between $\mathfrak{g}^{(g, n+1)}$ and its associated graded ${\rm gr} \, \mathfrak{g}^{(g, n+1)}$. For $g=0$, a similar result was obtained by G. Massuyeau using the Kontsevich integral.

In mixed-valence or heavy-fermion systems, the hybridization between local $f$ orbitals and conduction band states can cause the suppression of long-range magnetic order, which competes with strong spin fluctuations. Ce- and Yb-based systems have been found to exhibit fascinating physical properties (heavy-fermion superconductivity, non-Fermi-liquid states, etc.) when tuned to the vicinity of magnetic quantum critical points by use of various external control parameters (temperature, magnetic field, chemical composition). Recently, similar effects (mixed-valence, Kondo fluctuations, heavy Fermi liquid) have been reported to exist in some Eu-based compounds. Unlike Ce (Yb), Eu has a multiple electron (hole) occupancy of its $4f$ shell, and the magnetic Eu$^{2+}$ state ($4f^7$) has no orbital component in the usual $LS$ coupling scheme, which can lead to a quite different and interesting physics. In the EuCu$_{2}$(Si$_{x}$Ge$_{1-x}$)$_{2}$ series, where the valence can be tuned by varying the Si/Ge ratio, it has been reported that a significant valence fluctuation can exist even in the magnetic order regime. This paper presents a detailed study of the latter material using different microscopic probes (XANES, Mössbauer spectroscopy, elastic and inelastic neutron scattering), in which the composition dependence of the magnetic order and dynamics across the series is traced back to the change in the Eu valence state. In particular, the results support the persistence of valence fluctuations into the antiferromagnetic state over a sizable composition range below the critical Si concentration $x_c \approx 0.65$. The sequence of magnetic ground states in the series is shown to reflect the evolution of the magnetic spectral response.

The momentum transfer dependence of the magnetic form factor associated with the quasielastic spectral component in the dynamic magnetic response of intermediate valence SmB$_{6}$ has been measured using inelastic neutron scattering on a double-isotope ($^{154}$Sm, $^{11}$B) single crystal. The experimental dependence differs qualitatively from those obtained earlier for the inelastic signals, as well as from the field-induced magnetic form factor of SmB$_{6}$ obtained by polarized neutron diffraction. This observation is interpreted by specifically considering the Curie-type contributions to the dynamic susceptibility, which arise from the mixing of 4f$^{5}$ and 4f$^{6}$ J-multiplets into the intermediate valence state wave function.

An exact analytical model of the process of collision and nonlinear interaction of gravitational and/or electromagnetic soliton wave and strong non-soliton electromagnetic traveling wave of arbitrary profile propagating in the expanding universe (the symmetric Kasner spacetime) is presented. In contrast to intuitive expectations that rather strong traveling waves can destroy the soliton, it occurs that the soliton survives during its interaction with electromagnetic wave of arbitrary amplitude and profile, but its parameters begin to evolve under the influence of this interaction. If a traveling electromagnetic wave possesses a finite duration, the soliton parameters after interaction take constant values again, but these values in general are different from those before the interaction. Based on exact solutions of Einstein - Maxwell equations, our model demonstrates a series of nonlinear phenomena, such as (a) creation of gravitational waves in the collision of two electromagnetic waves, (b) creation of electromagnetic soliton wave in the collision of gravitational soliton with traveling electromagnetic wave, (c) scattering of a part of soliton wave in the direction of propagation of traveling electromagnetic wave, (d) quasiperiodic oscillating character of fields in the wave interaction region and multiple mutual transformations of gravitational and electromagnetic waves in this region. The figures illustrate these features of nonlinear wave interactions in General Relativity.

Currently, there are several operating lead neutron slowing-down spectrometers: LSDS-100 in Russia, RINS in United States, KULS in Japan and others. A relation between an energy of lead slowing-down moderated neutrons E (eV) and the time delay of t (μs) is described by the expression: E(t) = K/(t + t_0)^2, where values of K=170.5 (keV μs^2), t_0 = 0.3 (μs) in the case of the LSDS-100 have been measured in the previous experiment. The energy resolution of LSDS is low (30-45%) and is being determined experimentally, but the aperture ratio luminosity of the neutron flux detector is 10^2-10^4 times greater than in the case of a time of flight method technique. It allows to make experiments with small amount of substance and small cross-sections of its interaction with the slowed moderated neutrons.

Wilson lines in gauge theories admit several path integral descriptions. The first one (due to Alekseev-Faddeev-Shatashvili) uses path integrals over coadjoint orbits. The second one (due to Diakonov-Petrov) replaces a 1-dimensional path integral with a 2-dimensional topological $σ$-model. We show that this $σ$-model is defined by the equivariant extension of the Kirillov symplectic form on the coadjoint orbit. This allows to define the corresponding observable on arbitrary 2-dimensional surfaces, including closed surfaces. We give a new path integral presentation of Wilson lines in terms of Poisson $σ$-models, and we test this presentation in the framework of the 2-dimensional Yang-Mills theory. On a closed surface, our Wilson surface observable turns out to be nontrivial for $G$ non-simply connected (and trivial for $G$ simply connected), in particular we study in detail the cases $G=U(1)$ and $G=SO(3)$.

We introduce the notion of tropicalization for Poisson structures on $\mathbb{R}^n$ with coefficients in Laurent polynomials. To such a Poisson structure we associate a polyhedral cone and a constant Poisson bracket on this cone. There is a version of this formalism applicable to $\mathbb{C}^n$ viewed as a real Poisson manifold. In this case, the tropicalization gives rise to a completely integrable system with action variables taking values in a polyhedral cone and angle variables spanning a torus. As an example, we consider the canonical Poisson bracket on the dual Poisson-Lie group $G^*$ for $G=U(n)$ in the cluster coordinates of Fomin-Zelevinsky defined by a certain choice of solid minors. We prove that the corresponding integrable system is isomorphic to the Gelfand-Zeitlin completely integrable system of Guillemin-Sternberg and Flaschka-Ratiu.

This chapter gives an overview of the principles of low temperature refrigeration and the thermodynamics behind it. Basic cryogenic processes - Joule-Thomoson process, Brayton process as well as Claude process - are described and compared. A typical helium laboratory refrigerator based on Claude process is used as a typical example of a low-temperature refrigeration system. A description of the hardware components for helium liquefaction is an important part of this paper, because the design of the main hardware components (compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, pumps, adsorbers, etc.) provides the input for cost calculation, as well as enables to estimate the reliability of the plant and the maintenance expenses. All these numbers are necessary to calculate the economics of a low temperature application.

The Kashiwara-Vergne Lie algebra $\mathfrak{krv}$ encodes symmetries of the Kashiwara-Vergne problem on the properties of the Campbell-Hausdorff series. It is conjectures that $\mathfrak{krv} \cong \mathbb{K}t \oplus \mathfrak{grt}_1$, where $t$ is a generator of degree 1 and $\mathfrak{grt}_1$ is the Grothendieck-Teichmüller Lie algebra. In the paper, we prove this conjecture in depth 2. The main tools in the proof are the divergence cocycle and the representation theory of the dihedral group $D_{12}$. Our calculation is similar to the calculation by Zagier of the graded dimensions of the double shuffle Lie algebra in depth 2.
In analogy to the divergence cocycle, we define the super-divergence and $q$-divergence cocycles (here $q^l=1$) on Lie subalgebras of $\mathfrak{grt}_1$ which consist of elements with weight divisible by $l$. We show that in depth $2$ these cocycles have no kernel. This result is in sharp contrast with the fact that the divergence cocycle vanishes on $[\mathfrak{grt}_1, \mathfrak{grt}_1]$.

In this paper, we give a symplectic proof of the Horn inequalities on eigenvalues of a sum of two Hermitian matrices with given spectra. Our method is a combination of tropical calculus for matrix eigenvalues, combinatorics of planar networks, and estimates for the Liouville volume. As a corollary, we give a tropical description of the Duistermaat-Heckman measure on the Horn polytope.

The resonant intensity is confined to the X and R high symmetry points, repeating outside the first Brillouin zone and dispersing less than 2 meV, with a 5d-like magnetic form factor. We present a slave-boson treatment of the Anderson Hamiltonian with a third neighbor dominated hybridized band structure. This approach produces a spin exciton below the charge gap with features that are consistent with the observed neutron scattering. We find that maxima in the wave vector dependence of the inelastic neutron scattering indicate band inversion.

In this paper, we present the results of an observational search for gas phase urea [(NH$_2$)$_2$CO] observed towards the Sgr B2(N-LMH) region. We show data covering urea transitions from $\sim$100 GHz to 250 GHz from five different observational facilities: BIMA, CARMA, the NRAO 12 m telescope, the IRAM 30 m telescope, and SEST. The results show that the features ascribed to urea can be reproduced across the entire observed bandwidth and all facilities by best fit column density, temperature, and source size parameters which vary by less than a factor of 2 between observations merely by adjusting for telescope-specific parameters. Interferometric observations show that the emission arising from these transitions is cospatial and compact, consistent with the derived source sizes and emission from a single species. Despite this evidence, the spectral complexity, both of (NH$_2$)$_2$CO and of Sgr B2(N), makes the definitive identification of this molecule challenging. We present observational spectra, laboratory data, and models, and discuss our results in the context of a possible molecular detection of urea.

We prove the statement/conjecture of M. Kontsevich on the existence of the logarithmic formality morphism. This question was open since 1999, and the main obstacle was the presence of $dr/r$ type singularities near the boundary $r=0$ in the integrals over compactified configuration spaces. The novelty of our approach is the use of local torus actions on configuration spaces of points in the upper half-plane. It gives rise to a version of Stokes' formula for differential forms with singularities at the boundary which implies the formality property.
We also show that the logarithmic formality morphism admits a globalization from $\mathbb{R}^d$ to an arbitrary smooth manifold.

The CeT2Al10 family of orthorhombic compounds exhibits a very peculiar evolution from a Kondo-insulator (T: Fe) to an unconventional long-range magnetic order (T: Ru, Os). Inelastic neutron scattering experiments performed on single-crystal CeFe2Al10 reveal that this material develops a spin-gap in its magnetic spectral response below ~ 50 K, with a magnetic excitation dispersing from $E = 10.2 \pm 0.5$ meV at the Y zone-boundary point [q = (0,1,0)] to $\approx 12$ meV at the top of the branch. The excitation shows a pronounced polarization of the magnetic fluctuations along a, the easy anisotropy axis. Its behavior is contrasted with that of the (magnonlike) modes previously reported for CeRu2Al10, which have transverse character and exist only in the antiferromagnetic state. The present observation is ascribed to a "magnetic exciton" mechanism invoked to explain a similar magnetic response previously discovered in YbB12.

Simple exact solutions presented here describe the universes which spatial geometries are asymptotically homogeneous and isotropic near the initial singularity, but which evolution goes under the influence of primordial magnetic fields. In all these "deformed" Friedmann models (spatially flat, open or closed), the initial magnetic fields are concentrated near some axis of symmetry and their lines are the circles -- the lines of the azimuthal coordinate $\varphi$. Caused by the expansion of the universe, the time-dependence of a magnetic field induces (in accordance with the Faraday law) the emergence of source-free electric fields. In comparison with the Friedmann models, the cosmological expansion goes with acceleration in spatial directions across the magnetic field, and with deceleration along the magnetic lines, so that in flat and open models, in fluid comoving coordinates, the lengths of $\varphi$-circles of large enough radius or for late enough times decrease and vanish for $t\to\infty$. This means that in flat and open models, we have a partial dynamical closure of space-time at large distances from the axis, i.e. from the regions where the electromagnetic fields in our solutions are concentrated. To get simple exact solutions of the Einstein-Maxwell and perfect fluid equations, we assume for the perfect fluid (which supports the isotropic and homogeneous "background" Friedmann geometries) rather exotic, stiff matter equation of state $\varepsilon=p$. However, it seems reasonable to expect that similar effects might take place in the mutual dynamics of geometry and strong electromagnetic fields in the universes with more realistic matter equations of state.

In the toy model of 1D Chern-Simons theory, the quantized BFV boundary action coincides with the Kostant cubic Dirac operator which plays an important role in representation theory. In the case of 3D Chern-Simons theory, the boundary action turns out to be the odd (degree 1) version of the BF model with source terms for the B field at the points where the Wilson lines meet the boundary. The boundary space of states arising as the cohomology of the quantized BFV action coincides with the space of conformal blocks of the corresponding WZW model.

The problem of determining the set of possible eigenvalues of 3 Hermitian matrices that sum up to zero is known as the Horn problem. The answer is a polyhedral cone, which, following Knutson and Tao, can be described as the projection of a simpler cone in the space of triangular tableaux (or hives) to the boundary nodes of the tableau.
In this paper, we introduce a combinatorial problem defined in terms of certain weighted planar graphs giving rise to exactly the same polyhedral cone. In our framework, the values at the inner nodes of the triangular tableaux receive a natural interpretation. Other problems of linear algebra fit into the same scheme, among them the Gelfand--Zeitlin problem. Our approach is motivated by the works of Fomin and Zelevinsky on total positivity and by the ideas of tropicalization.

The monodromy transform and corresponding integral equation method described here give rise to a general systematic approach for solving integrable reductions of field equations for gravity coupled bosonic dynamics in string gravity and supergravity in four and higher dimensions. For different types of fields in space-times of $D\ge 4$ dimensions with $d=D-2$ commuting isometries -- stationary fields with spatial symmetries, interacting waves or partially inhomogeneous cosmological models, the string gravity equations govern the dynamics of interacting gravitational, dilaton, antisymmetric tensor and any number $n\ge 0$ of Abelian vector gauge fields (all depending only on two coordinates). The equivalent spectral problem constructed earlier allows to parameterize the infinite-dimensional space of local solutions of these equations by two pairs of \cal{arbitrary} coordinate-independent holomorphic $d\times d$- and $d\times n$- matrix functions ${\mathbf{u}_\pm(w), \mathbf{v}_\pm(w)}$ of a spectral parameter $w$ which constitute a complete set of monodromy data for normalized fundamental solution of this spectral problem. The "direct" and "inverse" problems of such monodromy transform --- calculating the monodromy data for any local solution and constructing the field configurations for any chosen monodromy data always admit unique solutions. We construct the linear singular integral equations which solve the inverse problem. For any \emph{rational} and \emph{analytically matched} (i.e. $\mathbf{u}_+(w)\equiv\mathbf{u}_-(w)$ and $\mathbf{v}_+(w)\equiv\mathbf{v}_-(w)$) monodromy data the solution for string gravity equations can be found explicitly. Simple reductions of the space of monodromy data leads to the similar constructions for solving of other integrable symmetry reduced gravity models, e.g. 5D minimal supergravity or vacuum gravity in $D\ge 4$ dimensions.

Under ordinary conditions, all spectra exhibited a 2-3 MHz line width independently of the interaction time of atoms with each other or with microwave radiation, although the ultimate resonance width should be defined by the inverse interaction time. Analysis of the experimental conditions has shown that the main source of the line broadening was the inhomogeneous electric field of cold photoions appeared at the excitation of initial Rydberg nP states by broadband pulsed laser radiation. Using an additional pulse of the electric field, which rapidly removed the photoions after the laser pulse, lead to a substantial narrowing of the microwave and Förster resonances. An analysis of various sources of the line broadening in cold Rydberg atoms has been conducted.

Kostant conjectured that the two filtrations coincide. The two filtrations arise in very different contexts, and comparing them proved to be a difficult task. Y. Bazlov settled the conjecture for g of type A using explicit expressions for primitive invariants in the exterior algebra of g. Up to now this approach did not lead to a proof for all simple Lie algebras. Recently, A. Joseph proved that the second Kostant filtration coincides with the filtration on h induced by the generalized Harish-Chandra projection $(Ug \otimes g)^g \to Sh \otimes h$ and the evaluation at $ρ\in h^*$. In this note, we prove that Joseph's result is equivalent to the Kostant Conjecture. We also show that the standard Harish-Chandra projection $Ug \to Sh$ composed with evaluation at $ρ$ induces the same filtration on h.

This shows that such solution is of solitonic character and represents the particular case of more general (12-parametric) stationary axisymmetric electrovacuum two-soliton solution for two rotating charged objects obtained by one of the authors in 1986. This result gives an additional support to our comprehension that the appropriate analytical continuations of solitonic solutions in the space of their parameters are always possible and that applicability of the Inverse Scattering Method in presence of electromagnetic field is not restricted only to the cases with naked singularities.

We consider the boundary WZW model on a half-plane with a cut growing according to the Schramm-Loewner stochastic evolution and the boundary fields inserted at the tip of the cut and at infinity. We study necessary and sufficient conditions for boundary correlation functions to be SLE martingales. Necessary conditions come from the requirement for the boundary field at the tip of the cut to have a depth two null vector. Sufficient conditions are established using Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equations for boundary correlators. Combining these two approaches, we show that in the case of G=SU(2) the boundary correlator is an SLE martingale if and only if the boundary field carries spin 1/2. In the case of G=SU(n) and k=1, there are several situations when boundary one-point correlators are SLE(kappa)-martingales. If the boundary field is labelled by the defining n-dimensional representation of SU(n), we obtain kappa=2. For n even, by choosing the boundary field labelled by the (unique) self-adjoint fundamental representation, we get kappa=8/(n+2). We also study the situation when the distance between the two boundary fields is finite, and we show that in this case the SLE(kappa) evolution is replaced by SLE(kappa, rho) with rho=kappa-6.

More than thirty years passed since the first discoveries of various aspects of integrability of the symmetry reduced vacuum Einstein equations and electrovacuum Einstein - Maxwell equations were made and gave rise to constructions of powerful solution generating methods for these equations. In the subsequent papers, the inverse scattering approach and soliton generating techniques, Bäcklund and symmetry transformations, formulations of auxiliary Riemann-Hilbert or homogeneous Hilbert problems and various linear integral equation methods have been developed in detail and found different interesting applications. Recently many efforts of different authors were aimed at finding of generalizations of these solution generating methods to various (symmetry reduced) gravity, string gravity and supergravity models in four and higher dimensions. However, in some cases it occurred that even after the integrability of a system was evidenced, some difficulties arise which do not allow the authors to develop some effective methods for constructing of solutions. The present survey includes some remarks concerning the history of discoveries of some of the well known solution generating methods for these equations, brief descriptions of various approaches and their scopes as well as some comments concerning the possible difficulties of generalizations of various approaches to more complicate gravity models and possible ways for avoiding these difficulties.

In that paper, for a complete system of massless bosonic fields which includes metric, dilaton field, antisymmetric tensor and any number of Abelian vector gauge fields, considered in the space-time of $D$ dimensions with $D-2$ commuting isometries, the spectral problem equivalent to the symmetry reduced dynamical equations was constructed. However, the soliton generating transformations were described in that paper only for the case in which all vector gauge fields vanish. In this paper, we recall the integrability structure of these equations and describe some new type of soliton generating transformations in which the vector gauge fields can also enter the background (seed) solution as well as these can be generated even on vacuum background by an appropriate choice of soliton parameters.

The necessity of this Comment was invoked by numerous mistakes, erroneous discussions and misleading citations curiously collected in the paper of F.J.Ernst, V.S.Manko and E.Ruiz and concerning the interrelations between two integral equation methods developed for solution of Einstein - Maxwell equations more than twenty five years ago. At first, we clarify the origin of the errors in the paper of F.J.Ernst, V.S.Manko and E.Ruiz which gave rise to so curious authors "conclusions" as that the monodromy transform integral equations "...are simple combinations of Sibgatullin's integral equations and normalizing conditions..." or even that "...in the electrovac case Alekseev's integral equations are erroneous...". In the Comment, the way of correct derivation of Sibgatullin's reduction of the Hauser and Ernst integral equations in the context of the monodromy transform approach is briefly outlined. In response to various speculations and priority claims collected in the section 3 of the F.J.Ernst, V.S.Manko and E.Ruiz paper, the concrete references are given here to the papers which were ignored completely by these authors and which show that the so called "extended electrovacuum N-soliton solutions" considered by E.Ruiz, V.S. Manko and J. Martin in 1995, are not new because all these solutions are the particular cases of a larger class of solutions constructed much earlier in explicit (determinant) form using the monodromy transform equations, and that the real story of construction of the solution for superposition of fields of two Reissner - Nordström sources and of corresponding equilibrium configurations found in our papers with V.Belinski differs crucially from that, which one can read in the paper of F.J.Ernst, V.S.Manko and E.Ruiz.

Abstract:
Let M be a manifold and g a Lie algebra acting on M. Differential forms Omega(M) carry a natural action of Lie derivatives L(x) and contractions I(x) of fundamental vector fields for x \in g. Let M be a manifold and g a Lie algebra acting on M. Differential forms Omega(M) carry a natural action of Lie derivatives L(x) and contractions I(x) of fundamental vector fields for x \in g. Contractions (anti-) commute with each other, [I(x), I(y)]=0. Together with the de Rham differential, they satisfy the Cartan's magic formula [d, I(x)]=L(x).
In this paper, we define a differential graded Lie algebra Dg, where instead of commuting with each other, contractions form a free Lie superalgebra. It turns out that central extensions of Dg are classified (under certain assumptions) by invariant homogeneous polynomials p on g. This construction gives a natural framework for the theory of twisted equivariant cohomology and a new interpretation of Mickelsson-Faddeev-Shatashvili cocycles of higher dimensional current algebras. As a topological application, we consider principal G-bundles (with G a Lie group integrating g), and for every homogeneous polynomial p on g we define a lifting problem with the only obstruction the corresponding Chern-Weil class cw(p).

Another application is a new estimate on denominators of the Kontsevich knot invariant.

Abstract:
The COMPASS experiment at the CERN SPS has studied the diffractive dissociation of negative pions into the pi- pi- pi+ final state using a 190 GeV/c pion beam hitting a lead target. A partial wave analysis has been performed on a sample of 420000 events taken at values of the squared 4-momentum transfer t' between 0.1 and 1 GeV^2/c^2. The well-known resonances a1(1260), a2(1320), and pi2(1670) are…

The well-known resonances a1(1260), a2(1320), and pi2(1670) are clearly observed. In addition, the data show a significant natural parity exchange production of a resonance with spin-exotic quantum numbers J^PC = 1-+ at 1.66 GeV/c^2 decaying to rho pi. The resonant nature of this wave is evident from the mass-dependent phase differences to the J^PC = 2-+ and 1++ waves. From a mass-dependent fit a resonance mass of 1660 +- 10+0-64 MeV/c^2 and a width of 269+-21+42-64 MeV/c^2 is deduced.

On triviality of the Kashiwara-Vergne problem for quadratic Lie algebras
Authors:

Abstract:
We show that the Kashiwara-Vergne (KV) problem for quadratic Lie algebras (that is, Lie algebras admitting an invariant scalar product) reduces to the problem of representing the Campbell-Hausdorff series in the form ln(e^xe^y)=x+y+[x,a(x,y)]+[y,b(x,y)], where a(x,y) and b(x,y) are Lie series in x and y. This observation explains the existence of explicit rational solutions of the quadratic KV problem (see M. Vergne, C.R.A.S. 329 (1999), no. 9, 767--772 and A. Alekseev, E. Meinrenken, C.R.A.S. 335 (2002), no. 9, 723--728 arXiv:math/0209346), whereas constructing an explicit rational solution of the full KV problem would probably require the knowledge of a rational Drinfeld associator. It also gives, in the case of quadratic Lie algebras, a direct proof of the Duflo theorem (implied by the KV problem).

The construction has good functorial properties, relative to Morita morphisms of Dixmier-Douady bundles. As applications, we show that the `spin' Dixmier-Douady bundle over a compact, connected Lie group (as constructed by Atiyah-Segal) is multiplicative, and we obtain a canonical `twisted Spin-c-structure' on spaces with group valued moment maps.

This connection takes values in the Lie algebra of derivations of the free Lie algebra with n generators. In this paper, we show that ω_n is flat.
The configuration space contains a boundary stratum at infinity which coincides with the (compactified) configuration space of n points on the complex plane. When restricted to this stratum, ω_n gives rise to a flat connection ω_n^\infty. We show that the parallel transport Φdefined by ω_3^\infty between configuration 1(23) and (12)3 verifies axioms of an associator.
We conjecture that ω_n^\infty takes values in the Lie algebra of infinitesimal braids. This conjecture implies that Φis an even Drinfeld associator defining a new explicit solution of associator axioms. A proof of this conjecture has recently appeared in arXiv:0905.1789

The Kashiwara-Vergne (KV) conjecture states the existence of solutions of a pair of equations related with the Campbell-Baker-Hausdorff series. It was solved by Meinrenken and the first author over the real numbers, and in a formal version, by the first and last authors over a field of characteristic 0. In this paper, we give a simple and explicit formula for a map from the set of Drinfeld associators to the set of solutions of the formal KV equations. Both sets are torsors under the actions of prounipotent groups, and we show that this map is a morphism of torsors. When specialized to the KZ associator, our construction yields a solution over the reals of the original KV conjecture.
