This article presents the study of almost Hermitian submersion from an almost Yamabe soliton onto an almost Hermitian manifold. A non-trivial example is also mentioned in order to guarantee the existence of such solitons on the total space of almost Hermitian submersions. We mainly focus on Kaehler submersions from Kaehler manifolds which are special case of almost Hermitian submersions. Under certain conditions, we find out that the fibres and the base manifold of such submersions are almost Yamabe soliton. We give the characterizations for an almost Yamabe soliton of a Kaehler submersion to be shrinking, steady and expanding in terms of extrinsic horizontal scalar curvature. Moreover, we observe the behavior of torqued, recurrent and concurrent vector field of the total space of the Kaehler submersion. In particular, we obtain characterization for an almost Yamabe soliton consisting of concurrent vector fields. Meanwhile, we give some results of such submersions when the total space is Yamabe soliton which is a particular case of almost Yamabe soliton.

Electric-field manipulation of magnetic order has proved of both fundamental and technological importance in spintronic devices. So far, electric-field control of ferromagnetism, magnetization and magnetic anisotropy has been explored in various magnetic materials, but the efficient electric-field control of spin-orbit torque (SOT) still remains elusive. Here, we report the effective electric-field control of a giant SOT in a Cr-doped topological insulator (TI) thin film using a top-gate FET structure. The SOT strength can be modulated by a factor of 4 within the accessible gate voltage range, and it shows strong correlation with the spin-polarized surface current in the film. Furthermore, we demonstrate the magnetization switching by scanning gate voltage with constant current and in-plane magnetic field applied in the film. The effective electric-field control of SOT and the giant spin-torque efficiency in Cr-doped TI may lead to the development of energy-efficient gate-controlled spin-torque devices compatible with modern field-effect semiconductor technologies.

The spinorial geometry method of solving Killing spinor equations is reviewed as it applies to 6-dimensional (1,0) supergravity. In particular, it is explained how the method is used to identify both the fractions of supersymmetry preserved by and the geometry of all supersymmetric backgrounds. Then two applications are described to systems that exhibit superconformal symmetry. The first is the proof that some 6-dimensional black hole horizons are locally isometric to $AdS_3\times Σ^3$, where $Σ^3$ is diffeomeorphic to $S^3$. The second one is a description of all supersymmetric solutions of 6-dimensional (1,0) superconformal theories and in particular of their brane solitons.

If the isotropy group is non-compact, the spacetime admits a parallel null 1-form with respect to a connection with torsion the 3-form field strength of the gravitational multiplet. The associated vector field is Killing and the 3-form is determined in terms of the geometry of spacetime. The $Sp(1)\ltimes \bH$ case admits a descendant solution preserving 3 out of 4 supersymmetries due to the hyperini Killing spinor equation. If the isotropy group is compact, the spacetime admits a natural frame constructed from 1-form spinor bi-linears. In the $Sp(1)$ and U(1) cases, the spacetime admits 3 and 4 parallel 1-forms with respect to the connection with torsion, respectively. The associated vector fields are Killing and under some additional restrictions the spacetime is a principal bundle with fibre a Lorentzian Lie group. The conditions imposed by the Killing spinor equations on all other fields are also determined.
