Ferrites, magnetic materials primarily composed of iron oxides, exhibit diverse magnetic behaviors, including diamagnetism, paramagnetism, ferromagnetism, antiferromagnetism, ferrimagnetism, and superparamagnetism. This paper explores the fundamental principles governing these magnetic phenomena, with a focus on the relationship between magnetic field strength ($H$), magnetic induction ($B$), and magnetic susceptibility ($χ$). The study delves into the structural and electronic origins of magnetism in ferrites, highlighting the contributions of electron spin and orbital motions. The technological significance of ferrites, particularly in high-frequency applications, is examined through their classification based on crystal structures, including spinel, garnet, hexagonal, and orthoferrites. Special attention is given to the manufacturing processes and applications of ferrites in modern technology, such as their use in magnetic cores, sensors, and memory devices. The paper concludes with a discussion on the future directions in ferrite research and potential innovations in their applications.

Data privacy has become a major concern in healthcare due to the increasing digitization of medical records and data-driven medical research. Protecting sensitive patient information from breaches and unauthorized access is critical, as such incidents can have severe legal and ethical complications. Federated Learning (FL) addresses this concern by enabling multiple healthcare institutions to collaboratively learn from decentralized data without sharing it. FL's scope in healthcare covers areas such as disease prediction, treatment customization, and clinical trial research. However, implementing FL poses challenges, including model convergence in non-IID (independent and identically distributed) data environments, communication overhead, and managing multi-institutional collaborations. A systematic review of FL in healthcare is necessary to evaluate how effectively FL can provide privacy while maintaining the integrity and usability of medical data analysis. In this study, we analyze existing literature on FL applications in healthcare. We explore the current state of model security practices, identify prevalent challenges, and discuss practical applications and their implications. Additionally, the review highlights promising future research directions to refine FL implementations, enhance data security protocols, and expand FL's use to broader healthcare applications, which will benefit future researchers and practitioners.

Cancer treatments are known to introduce cardiotoxicity, negatively impacting outcomes and survivorship. Identifying cancer patients at risk of heart failure (HF) is critical to improving cancer treatment outcomes and safety. This study examined machine learning (ML) models to identify cancer patients at risk of HF using electronic health records (EHRs), including traditional ML, Time-Aware long short-term memory (T-LSTM), and large language models (LLMs) using novel narrative features derived from the structured medical codes. We identified a cancer cohort of 12,806 patients from the University of Florida Health, diagnosed with lung, breast, and colorectal cancers, among which 1,602 individuals developed HF after cancer. The LLM, GatorTron-3.9B, achieved the best F1 scores, outperforming the traditional support vector machines by 39%, the T-LSTM deep learning model by 7%, and a widely used transformer model, BERT, by 5.6%. The analysis shows that the proposed narrative features remarkably increased feature density and improved performance.

Emotion has a significant influence on how one thinks and interacts with others. It serves as a link between how a person feels and the actions one takes, or it could be said that it influences one's life decisions on occasion. Since the patterns of emotions and their reflections vary from person to person, their inquiry must be based on approaches that are effective over a wide range of population regions. To extract features and enhance accuracy, emotion recognition using brain waves or EEG signals requires the implementation of efficient signal processing techniques. Various approaches to human-machine interaction technologies have been ongoing for a long time, and in recent years, researchers have had great success in automatically understanding emotion using brain signals. In our research, several emotional states were classified and tested on EEG signals collected from a well-known publicly available dataset, the DEAP Dataset, using SVM (Support Vector Machine), KNN (K-Nearest Neighbor), and an advanced neural network model, RNN (Recurrent Neural Network), trained with LSTM (Long Short Term Memory). The main purpose of this study is to improve ways to improve emotion recognition performance using brain signals. Emotions, on the other hand, can change with time. As a result, the changes in emotion over time are also examined in our research.

This study develops a clinical generative LLM, GatorTronGPT, using 277 billion words of mixed clinical and English text with a GPT-3 architecture of 20 billion parameters. GatorTronGPT improves biomedical natural language processing for medical research. Synthetic NLP models trained using GatorTronGPT generated text outperform NLP models trained using real-world clinical text. Physicians Turing test using 1 (worst) to 9 (best) scale shows that there is no significant difference in linguistic readability (p = 0.22; 6.57 of GatorTronGPT compared with 6.93 of human) and clinical relevance (p = 0.91; 7.0 of GatorTronGPT compared with 6.97 of human) and that physicians cannot differentiate them (p < 0.001). This study provides insights on the opportunities and challenges of LLMs for medical research and healthcare.

The bidirectional steering between two accelerated partners sharing initially different classes of entangled states is discussed. Due to the decoherence, the steerability and its degree decrease either as the acceleration increases or the partners share initially a small amount of quantum correlations. The possibility of increasing the steerability is investigated by applying the filtering process. Our results show that by increasing the filtering strength, one can improve the upper bounds of the steerability and the range of acceleration at which the steerability is possible. Steering large coherent states is much better than steering less coherent ones.

The bidirectional steerability between different-size subsystems is discussed for a single parameter accelerated qubit-qutrit system. The decoherence due to the mixing and acceleration parameters is investigated, where for the total system and the qutrit, it increases as the mixing parameter increases, while it decreases for the qubit. The non-classical correlations are quantified by using the local quantum uncertainty, where it increases at large values of the acceleration parameter. The possibility that each subsystem steers each other is studied, where the behavior of the steering inequality predicts that the qubit has a large ability to steer the qutrit. The degree of steerability decays gradually when the qubit is accelerated. However, it decays suddenly when the qutrit or both subsystems are accelerated. The degree of steerability is shown for the qutrit/qubit vanishes at small/large values of the acceleration. The difference between the degrees of steerability depends on the initial state settings and the size of the accelerated subsystem.

We study in detail the thermodynamics of the quantum chromodynamics (QCD) matter utilizing two different statistics, extensive and non-extensive. The thermodynamics such as (pressure, number density, energy density , entropy and magnetization) are determined from both statistics at zero and non-zero magnetic field, eB = 0; 0:2; 0:3GeV^2. The magnetic field effect appears by adding a vacuum contribution to the free energy along side the thermal contribution. The extensive thermodynamics can be emerged from the resonance hadron gas model which is incorporated in the present work. Accordingly, we repeat our calculations at zero and non-zero magnetic field for the non-extensive statistics. The theoretical results of thermodynamical quantities calculated from both statistics are confronted to the lattice results which show a reasonable agreement with the extensive thermodynamics, but overrated in non-extensive thermodynamics at high temperature only and higher entropic index. The response of the QCD matter due to the magnetic field is additionally examined, and it is concluded that QCD matter is considered as a paramagnetic matter.

A novel approach to supply chain management is proposed to maintain economic growth along with environmentally friendly concerns for the design of the supply chain network. In this paper, a new green supply chain design approach has been suggested to maintain the financial virtue accompanying the environ-mental factors that required to be mitigated the negative effect of rapid industrial development on the environment. This approach has been suggested a multi-objective mathematical model minimizing the total costs and CO2 emissions for establishing an environmentally sustainable closed-loop supply chain. Two opti-mization methods are used namely Epsilon Constraint Method, and Genetic Al-gorithm Optimization Method. The results of the two mentioned methods have been compared and illustrated their effectiveness. The outcome of the analysis is approved to verify the accuracy of the proposed model to deal with financial and environmental issues concurrently.

Wigner distribution function of atomic system interacts locally with a deformed cavity is discussed. It is shown that, the deformed cavity has a destructive effect on the Wigner distribution function, where it decreases as one increases the deformation strength. The upper and lower bounds of the Wigner distribution function depends on the initial state settings of atomic system (entangled/product), the initial values of the dipole-dipole interaction's and detuning parameters, and the external distribution weight and the phase angles. The possibility of suppressing the decay induced by the deformed cavity may be increased by increasing the dipole's strength or the detuning parameter. We show that the distribution angles may be considered as a control external parameters, that maximize/ minimize the Wigner distribution function. This means that by controlling on the distribution angles, one can increase the possibility of suppressing the decoherence induced by the deformed cavity.

The modification and tailoring the characteristics of nanostructured materials are of great interest due to controllable and unusual inherent properties in such materials. A simple spray pyrolysis technique is used to prepare pure and La-doped ZnO films. The influence of La concentration (0, 0.33, 0.45, 0.66, 0.92 and 1.04 at. %) on the structural, optical, and magnetic properties of ZnO was investigated. The exact nominal compositions of the prepared films were determined from the field emission scanning electron microscope occupied with EDX. X-ray diffraction confirmed that the samples possessed single-phase hexagonal wurtzite structure. The main crystal size was decreased from 315.50 Å to 229.04 Å depending on La dopant concentration. This decrease is due to the small ionic radius of Zn ions in compared to La ions. The band gap values were found to be depend strongly on La3+ ion content. Introducing La into ZnO induces a clear magnetic moment without any distortion in the geometrical symmetry, it also reveals the ferromagnetic coupling. The saturation magnetic moment of 1.04 at% La-doped ZnO shows the highest value of 0.014 emu, which is ~23 times higher than pure ZnO sample. The obtained results were discussed and compared with other literature data and showed an acceptable agreement.

In this manuscript, the behavior of the Wigner function of accelerated and non-accelerated two qubit system passing through different noisy channels is discussed. The decoherence of the initial quantum correlation due to the noisy channels and the acceleration process is investigated by means of Wigner function. The negative (positive) behavior of the Wigner function predicts the gain of the quantum (classical) correlations. Based on the upper and lower bounds of the Wigner function, the entangled initial state loses its quantum correlation due the acceleration process and the strengths of the noisy channels. However, by controlling the distribution angles, the decoherence of these quantum correlation may be suppressed. For accelerated state, the robustness of the quantum correlations contained in the initial state appears in different ranges of the distribution angles depending on the noisy type. For the bit phase flip and the phase flip channels, the robustness of the quantum correlations is shown at any acceleration and large range of distribution angles. However, the fragility of the quantum correlation is depicted for large values for strength of the bit flip channel. Different profiles of the Wigner function are exhibited for the quantum and classical correlations, cup, lune, hemisphere.

The Wigner function's behavior of accelerated and non-accelerated Greenberger Horne Zeilinger (GHZ) state is discussed. For the non-accelerated GHZ state, the minimum/maximum peaks of the Wigner function depends on the distribution's angles, where they are displayed regularly at fixed values of the distribution's angles. We show that, for the accelerated GHZ state, the minimum bounds increases as the acceleration increases. The increasing rate depends on the number of accelerated qubits. Due to the positivity/ negativity behavior of the Wigner function, one can use it as an indicators of the presences of the classical/quantum correlations, respectively. The maximum bounds of the quantum and the classical correlations depend on the purity of the initial GHZ state. The classical correlation that depicted by the behavior of Wigner function independent of the acceleration, but depends on the degree of its purity.

Wireless interconnection has emerged as an energy efficient solution to the challenges of multi-hop communication over the wireline paths in conventional Networks-on-Chips (NoCs). However, to ensure the full benefits of this novel interconnect technology, design of simple, fair and efficient Medium Access Control (MAC) mechanism to grant access to the on-chip wireless communication channel is needed. Moreover, to adapt to the varying traffic demands from the applications running on a multicore environment, MAC mechanisms should dynamically adjust the transmission slots of the wireless interfaces (WIs). Such dynamic adjustment in transmission slots will result in improving the utilization of the wireless medium in a Wireless NoC (WiNoC). In this paper we present the design of two dynamic MAC mechanisms that adjust the transmission slots of the WIs based on predicted traffic demands and allow partial packet transfer. Through system level simulations, we demonstrate that the traffic aware MAC mechanisms are more energy efficient as well as capable of sustaining higher data bandwidth in WiNoCs.

Alzheimer disease (AD) is the leading cause of dementia, accounts for 60 to 80 percent cases. Two main factors called beta amyloid plaques and tangles are prime suspects in damaging and killing nerve cells. However, oxidative stress, the process which produces free radicals in cells, is believed to promote its progression to the extent that it may responsible for the cognitive and functional decline observed in AD. As of today there are few FDA approved drugs in the market for treatment, but their cholinergic adverse effect, potentially distressing toxicity and limited targets in AD pathology limits their use. Therefore, it is crucial to find an effective compounds to combat AD. We choose 45 plant derived natural compounds that have antioxidant properties to slow down disease progression by quenching free redicals or promoting endogenous antioxidant capacity. However, we performed molecular docking studies to investigate the binding interactions between natural compounds and 13 various anti Alzheimer drug targets. Three known Cholinesterase inhibitors (Donepezil, Galantamine and Rivastigmine) were taken as reference drugs over natural compounds for comparison and drug likeness studies. Few of these compounds showed good inhibitory activity besides anti oxidant activity. Most of these compounds followed pharmacokinetics properties that make them potentially promising drug candidates for the treatment of Alzheimer disease.

Multichip systems with memory stacks and various processing chips are at the heart of platform based designs such as servers and embedded systems. Full utilization of the benefits of these integrated multichip systems need a seamless, and scalable in-package interconnection framework. However, state-of-the-art inter-chip communication requires long wireline channels which increases energy consumption and latency while decreasing data bandwidth. Here, we propose the design of an energy-efficient, seamless wireless interconnection network for multichip systems. We demonstrate with cycle-accurate simulations that such a design reduces the energy consumption and latency while increasing the bandwidth in comparison to modern multichip integration systems.

The intricate labyrinth of Collatz sequences
Authors:
Maya Mohsin Ahmed
Abstract:
In a previous article, we reduced the unsolved problem of the convergence of Collatz sequences, to convergence of Collatz sequences of odd numbers, that are divisible by 3. In this article, we further reduce this set to odd numbers that are congruent to 21 mod 24. We also show that either the Collatz sequence of a given odd number or an equivalent Collatz sequence reverses to a multiple of 3. More…

In this article, we further reduce this set to odd numbers that are congruent to 21 mod 24. We also show that either the Collatz sequence of a given odd number or an equivalent Collatz sequence reverses to a multiple of 3. Moreover, we construct a network composed of Collatz sequences of all odd numbers.

A window to the Convergence of a Collatz Sequence
Authors:
Maya Mohsin Ahmed
Abstract:
In this article, we reduce the unsolved problem of convergence of Collatz sequences to convergence of Collatz sequences of odd numbers that are divisible by 3. We give an elementary proof of the fact that a Collatz sequence does not increase monotonically. We define a unique reverse Collatz sequence and conjecture that this sequence always converges to a multiple of $3$.
