These datasets facilitated the constraint of the \( f(R, L_m) \)-gravity model via MCMC simulations, followed by a comparative analysis with the \(Λ\)CDM model. A comprehensive statistical analysis has been conducted to evaluate the \( f(R, L_m) \)-gravity model's efficacy in explaining both the accelerated expansion of the universe and the growth of cosmic structures.

We take into account redshift-space distortion measurements to investigate the growth of cosmological large-scale structures within the framework of modified symmetric teleparallel $f(Q)$ gravity. After comparing the predictions of the $f(Q)$-gravity expansion history with OHD and SNIa datasets and constraining the pertinent cosmological parameters $Ω_{m}$ and $H_0$, together with the exponent $n$ for $f(Q)$ power-law models, we derive the full system of equations governing linear cosmological perturbations to study matter fluctuations using the $1 + 3$ covariant formalism when applied to $f(Q)$ gravity. Thus, we resort to both the usual redshift-space distortion data $fσ_8$ and some recent separate measurements of the growth rate $f$ and the amplitude of matter fluctuations $σ_8$ from the VIPERS and SDSS collaborations to find the best-fit cosmological parameters $Ω_m$, $σ_{8}$ and $n$. We also apply a collective analysis of such growth-structure data together with the aforementioned cosmic expansion measurements, to restrict these parameters through Monte Carlo Markov Chain simulations. determining the statistical significance for the best-fit parameter values through the AIC and BIC Bayesian selection criteria.

We present a dynamical system formulation for inhomogeneous LRS-II spacetimes using the covariant 1+1+2 decomposition approach. Our approach describes the LRS-II dynamics from the point of view of a comoving observer. Promoting the covariant radial derivatives of the covariant dynamical quantities to new dynamical variables and utilizing the commutation relation between the covariant temporal and radial derivatives, we were able to construct an autonomous system of first-order ordinary differential equations along with some purely algebraic constraints. Using our dynamical system formulation we found several interesting features in the LRS-II phase space with dust, one of them being that the homogeneous solutions constitute an invariant submanifold. For the particular case of LTB, we were also able to recover the previously known result that an expanding LTB tends to Milne in the absence of a cosmological constant, providing a potential validation of our formalism.

In this paper, we investigate the evolution of cosmological perturbations within the context of Bianchi Type$-I$ spacetimes. We consider models containing viscous fluids with evolving cosmological (\LL) and Newtonian gravitational (G) parameters. The investigation of how over-densities in the viscous matter content in the Bianchi Type$-I$ model is our primary emphasis. In particular, we investigate the generation and propagation of signals associated with large-scale structures in this setting. We contrast our findings with the predictions of the classic $Λ$CDM ($Λ$-Cold-Dark-Matter) cosmological model to draw relevant contrasts and insights.
Our findings emphasise the need to incorporate viscous fluids into the Bianchi Type$-I$ geometry, as well as the dynamic fluctuations of \LL and $G$. These factors influence the rate of structure growth in the cosmos as a whole. Thus, our findings offer light on the complex dynamic interaction between viscosity, changing cosmological parameters, and the growth of large-scale structures in an anisotropic universe.

We present a joint cosmological analysis of the power spectra measurement of the Planck Compton parameter and the integrated Sachs-Wolfe (ISW) maps. We detect the statistical correlation between the Planck Thermal Sunyaev-Zeldovich (tSZ) map and ISW data with a significance of a $3.6σ$ confidence level~(CL), with the autocorrelation of the Planck tSZ data being measured at a $25 σ$ CL. The joint auto- and cross-power spectra constrain the matter density to be $Ω_{\rm m}= 0.317^{+0.040}_{-0.031}$, the Hubble constant $H_{0}=66.5^{+2.0}_{-1.9}\,{\rm km}\,{\rm s}^{-1}\,{\rm Mpc}^{-1}$ and the rms matter density fluctuations to be $σ_{8}=0.730^{+0.040}_{-0.037}$ at the 68% CL. The derived large-scale structure $S_{8}$ parameter is $S_8 \equiv σ_{8}(Ω_{\rm m}/0.3)^{0.5} = 0.755\pm{0.060} $. If using only the diagonal blocks of covariance matrices, the Hubble constant becomes $H_{0}=69.7^{+2.0}_{-1.5}\,{\rm km}\,{\rm s}^{-1}\,{\rm Mpc}^{-1}$. In addition, we obtain the constraint of the product of the gas bias, gas temperature, and density as $b_{\rm gas} \left(T_{\rm e}/(0.1\,{\rm keV}) \right ) \left(\bar{n}_{\rm e}/1\,{\rm m}^{-3} \right) = 3.09^{+0.320}_{-0.380}$. We find that this constraint leads to an estimate on the electron temperature today as $T_{\rm e}=(2.40^{+0.250}_{-0.300}) \times 10^{6} \,{\rm K}$, consistent with the expected temperature of the warm-hot intergalactic medium. Our studies show that the ISW-tSZ cross-correlation is capable of probing the properties of the large-scale diffuse gas.

Despite the significant accomplishments of general relativity, numerous unresolved issues persist in our understanding of the cosmos. One of the most perplexing challenges is the ongoing accelerated expansion of the Universe, which continues to elude a complete explanation. Consequently, scientists have proposed various alternative theories to GR in pursuit of a deeper understanding. In our analysis, we delve into the recently proposed modified $f(Q)$ gravity, where $Q$ represents the non-metricity scalar responsible for gravitational effects. Specifically, we investigate a cosmological model characterized by the functional form $f(Q) = Q+αQ^n$, where $α$ (with $α\neq 0$) and $n$ serve as free parameters. Utilizing this functional form, we construct our Hubble rate, incorporating a specific equation of state to describe the cosmic fluid. Furthermore, we leverage a dataset consisting of 31 data points from Hubble measurements and an additional 1048 data points from the Pantheon dataset. These data serve as crucial constraints for our model parameters, and we employ the Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) method to explore the parameter space and derive meaningful results. With our parameter values constrained, our analysis yields several noteworthy findings. The deceleration parameter suggests a recent accelerated phase in the cosmic expansion. In addition, the EoS parameter paints a portrait of dark energy exhibiting phantom-like characteristics. Furthermore, we delve into the application of cosmological diagnostic tools, specifically the statefinder and the $Om(z)$ diagnostics. Both of these tools align with our previous conclusions, confirming the phantom-like behavior exhibited by our cosmological model. These results collectively contribute to our understanding of the dynamic interplay between gravity, dark energy, and the expanding cosmos.

We conduct a Bayesian analysis of recent observational datasets, specifically the Cosmic Chronometers (CC) dataset and Pantheon samples, to investigate the evolution of the EoS parameter in dark energy models. Our study focused on the effective EoS parameter, which is described by the parametric form $ω_{eff}=-\frac{1}{1+m(1+z)^n}$, where $m$ and $n$ are model parameters. This parametric form is applicable within the framework of $f(R,L_m)$ gravity, where $R$ represents the Ricci scalar and $L_m$ is the matter Lagrangian. Here, we examine a non-linear $f(R,L_m)$ model characterized by the functional form $f(R,L_m)=\frac{R}{2}+L_m^α$, where $α$ is the free parameter of the model. We examine the evolution of several cosmological parameters, including the effective EoS parameter $ω_{eff}$, the deceleration parameter $q$, the density parameter $ρ$, the pressure $p$, and the statefinder parameters. Our analysis revealed that the constrained current value of the effective EoS parameter, $ω_{eff}^{0}=-0.68\pm0.06$ for both the CC and Pantheon datasets, points towards a quintessence phase. Moreover, at redshift $z=0$, the deceleration parameter, $q_0 = -0.61^{+0.01}_{-0.01}$, indicates that the present Universe is undergoing accelerated expansion.

In previous works, we proposed to estimate cosmological parameters with the artificial neural network (ANN) and the mixture density network (MDN). In this work, we propose an improved method called the mixture neural network (MNN) to achieve parameter estimation by combining ANN and MDN, which can overcome shortcomings of the ANN and MDN methods. Besides, we propose sampling parameters in a hyper-ellipsoid for the generation of the training set, which makes the parameter estimation more efficient. A high-fidelity posterior distribution can be obtained using $\mathcal{O}(10^2)$ forward simulation samples. In addition, we develop a code-named CoLFI for parameter estimation, which incorporates the advantages of MNN, ANN, and MDN, and is suitable for any parameter estimation of complicated models in a wide range of scientific fields. CoLFI provides a more efficient way for parameter estimation, especially for cases where the likelihood function is intractable or cosmological models are complex and resource-consuming. It can learn the conditional probability density $p(\boldsymbolθ|\boldsymbol{d})$ using samples generated by models, and the posterior distribution $p(\boldsymbolθ|\boldsymbol{d}_0)$ can be obtained for a given observational data $\boldsymbol{d}_0$. We tested the MNN using power spectra of the cosmic microwave background and Type Ia supernovae and obtained almost the same result as the Markov Chain Monte Carlo method. The numerical difference only exists at the level of $\mathcal{O}(10^{-2}σ)$. The method can be extended to higher-dimensional data.

In this study, cosmological models are considered, where dark matter and dark energy are coupled and may exchange energy through non-gravitational interactions with one other. These interacting dark energy (IDE) models have previously been introduced to address problems with the standard $Λ$CDM model of cosmology (which include the coincidence problem, Hubble tension and $S_8$ discrepancy). However, conditions ensuring positive energy densities have often been overlooked. Assuming two different linear dark energy couplings, $Q = δH ρ_{\rm{de}}$ and $Q = δH ρ_{\rm{dm}}$, we find that negative energy densities are inevitable if energy flows from dark matter to dark energy (iDMDE regime) and that consequently, we should only seriously consider models where energy flows from dark energy to dark matter (iDEDM regime). To additionally ensure that these models are free from early time instabilities, we need to require that dark energy is in the `phantom' ($ω<-1$) regime. This has the consequence that model $Q=δH ρ_{\rm{dm}}$ will end with a future big rip singularity, while $Q = δH ρ_{\rm{de}}$ may avoid this fate with the right choice of cosmological parameters.

After solving the background expansion history for a late-time universe, we attempt to constrain the cosmological parameters by comparing simulated values of the model against Supernovae Type 1A data. We consider four different cases and compare them against the LCDM model as the "true model". Our results show that the diffusive model in which dark energy flows to dark matter is the most likely alternative to LCDM model. This model is not only in line with Planck 2018 observational results but can also give a potential explanation to the so-called Hubble tension.

f(R) gravity is one of the simplest viable modifications to General Relativity: it passes local astrophysical tests, predicts both the early-time cosmic inflation and the late-time cosmic acceleration, and also describes dark matter. In this paper, we probe cosmic magnification on large scales in f(R) gravity, using the well-known Hu-Sawicki model as an example. Our results indicate that at redshifts z < 3, values of the model exponent n > 1 lead to inconsistent behaviour in the evolution of scalar perturbations. Moreover, when relativistic effects are taken into account in the large scale analysis, our results show that as z increases, large-scale changes in the cosmic magnification angular power spectrum owing to integral values of n tend to share a similar pattern, while those of decimal values tend to share another. This feature could be searched for in the experimental data, as a potential "smoking gun" for the given class of gravity models. Furthermore, we found that at z = 1 and lower, relativistic effects lead to a suppression of the cosmic magnification on large scales in f(R) gravity, relative to the concordance model; whereas, at z > 1, relativistic effects lead to a relative boost of the cosmic magnification. In general, relativistic effects enhance the potential of the cosmic magnification as a cosmological probe.

In this study, we present the evolution of cosmological perturbations in a universe consisting of standard matter and interacting vacuum. We use the $1 + 3$ covariant formalism in perturbation framework and consider two different models for the interacting vacuum namely a linear interacting model and interaction with creation pressure model. For both models, we derive the evolution equations governing the growth of linear perturbations for both radiation and dust dominated Universe. We find numerical solutions in appropriate limits namely long and short wavelengths. For both models, the perturbations grow with time (decay with redshift), showing that structure formation is possible in an accelerated cosmic background. The perturbation amplitudes and their relative scalings with those of standard model of cosmology depend on the values of the interaction parameters considered, and in a way that can be used to constrain the models using existing and future large scale structure data. In the vanishing limits of the coupling parameters of the interaction, we show that standard cosmology, both background and perturbed, is recovered.

In this paper, with the aim of addressing the stringent computing and quality-of-service (QoS) requirements of recently introduced advanced multimedia services, we consider a cell-free massive MIMO-enabled mobile edge network. In particular, benefited from the reliable cell-free links to offload intensive computation to the edge server, resource-constrained end-users can augment on-board (local) processing with edge computing. To this end, we formulate a joint communication and computing resource allocation (JCCRA) problem to minimize the total energy consumption of the users, while meeting the respective user-specific deadlines. To tackle the problem, we propose a fully distributed solution approach based on cooperative multi-agent reinforcement learning framework, wherein each user is implemented as a learning agent to make joint resource allocation relying on local information only. The simulation results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed distributed approach outperforms the heuristic baselines, converging to a centralized target benchmark, without resorting to large overhead. The recent works on a deep learning (DL)-based joint design of preamble set for the transmitters and data-aided active user detection (AUD) in the receiver has demonstrated a significant performance improvement for grant-free sparse code multiple access (GF-SCMA) system. The autoencoder for the joint design can be trained only in a given environment, but in an actual situation where the operating environment is constantly changing, it is difficult to optimize the preamble set for every possible environment. Therefore, a conventional, yet general approach may implement the data-aided AUD while relying on the preamble set that is designed independently rather than the joint design. In this paper, the activity detection error rate (ADER) performance of the data-aided AUD subject to the two preamble designs, i.e., independently designed preamble and jointly designed preamble, were directly compared. Fortunately, it was found that the performance loss in the data-aided AUD induced by the independent preamble design is limited to only 1dB. Furthermore, such performance characteristics of jointly designed preamble set is interpreted through average cross-correlation among the preambles associated with the same codebook (CB) (average intra-CB cross-correlation) and average cross-correlation among preambles associated with the different CBs (average inter-CB cross-correlation).

The study is based on the equivalence between $f(R)$ theory of gravity and scalar-tensor theory of gravity. We find that, for power-law $(R^{n})$ models, with $1<n<1.3$, we have the power spectrum evolving above general relativistic scale-invariant line. For $n\geq 1.3$, the power spectrum starts with constant amplitude then it experiences oscillations and eventually saturates at finite amplitude. Such behavior is consistent with other observations in the literature. The result supports the ongoing investigations of the equivalence between $f(R)$ and scalar-tensor theory at linear order.

In grant-free sparse code multiple access (GF-SCMA) system, active user detection (AUD) is a major performance bottleneck as it involves complex combinatorial problem, which makes joint design of contention resources for users and AUD at the receiver a crucial but a challenging problem. To this end, we propose autoencoder (AE)-based joint optimization of both preamble generation networks (PGNs) in the encoder side and data-aided AUD in the decoder side. The core architecture of the proposed AE is a novel user activity extraction network (UAEN) in the decoder that extracts a priori user activity information from the SCMA codeword data for the data-aided AUD. An end-to-end training of the proposed AE enables joint optimization of the contention resources, i.e., preamble sequences, each associated with one of the codebooks, and extraction of user activity information from both preamble and SCMA-based data transmission. Furthermore, we propose a self-supervised pre-training scheme for the UAEN prior to the end-to-end training, to ensure the convergence of the UAEN which lies deep inside the AE network. Simulation results demonstrated that the proposed AUD scheme achieved 3 to 5dB gain at a target activity detection error rate of $\bf{{10}^{-3}}$ compared to the state-of-the-art DL-based AUD schemes.

To support the newly introduced multimedia services with ultra-low latency and extensive computation requirements, resource-constrained end user devices should utilize the ubiquitous computing resources available at network edge for augmenting on-board (local) processing with edge computing. In this regard, the capability of cell-free massive MIMO to provide reliable access links by guaranteeing uniform quality of service without cell edge can be exploited for seamless parallel processing. Taking this into account, we consider a cell-free massive MIMO-enabled mobile edge network to meet the stringent requirements of the advanced services. For the considered mobile edge network, we formulate a joint communication and computing resource allocation (JCCRA) problem with the objective of minimizing energy consumption of the users while meeting the tight delay constraints. We then propose a fully distributed cooperative solution approach based on multiagent deep deterministic policy gradient (MADDPG) algorithm. The simulation results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed distributed approach has converged to that of a centralized deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG)-based target benchmark, while alleviating the large overhead associated with the latter. Furthermore, it has been shown that our approach significantly outperforms heuristic baselines in terms of energy efficiency, roughly up to 5 times less total energy consumption.

In this paper, we undertake a unified study of background dynamics and cosmological perturbations in the presence of the Chaplygin gas. This is done by first constraining the background cosmological parameters of different Chaplygin gas models with SNIa and $H(z)$ data for detailed statistical analysis of the CG models. Based on the statistical criteria we followed, none of the models has substantial observational support, but we show that the so-called `original' and `extended/generalised' Chaplygin gas models have {\it some observational support} and {\it less observational support}, respectively, whereas the `modified and `modified generalised Chaplygin gas models miss out on the category {\it less observational support}, but cannot be ruled out. The so-called `generalised cosmic Chaplygin gas model, on the other hand, falls under the {\it no observational support} category of the statistical criterion and can be ruled out. The models which are statistically accepted are considered for perturbation level in both theoretical and observational aspects. We also apply the $1+3$ covariant formalism of perturbation theory and derive the evolution equations of the fluctuations in the matter density contrast of the matter-Chaplygin gas system for the models with some or less statistical support. The solutions to these coupled systems of equations are then computed in both short-wavelength and long-wavelength modes. Then feed these observationally restricted parameters into the analysis of cosmological perturbations {to address the growth of density contrast through redshift}. Using the most recent linear growth of the data $f_{σ8}$, CG models are considered to study the linear growth of the structure.

A version of massive gravity, namely conformal massive gravity, is employed to study the behavior of thermodynamic geometry for both the static and the rotating regular black holes. Whereas in thermodynamic geometry singularity can be interpreted as the second phase transition, seeing such phenomena as heat capacity behavior for both cases is investigated in detail. In addition, other thermodynamic quantities like the entropy and the temperature are analyzed as well. Another important property of the black holes is the so-called stability, in which utilizing the first phase transition of the heat capacity is detailed, for both cases, say the static and the spinning black holes. It is also interestingly figured out that, the behavior of temperature of the uncharged black holes in the presence of hair parameter, $λ$, can mimic the charged ones. {The effects of scalar charge, $Q$, and hair parameters with both positive and negative signs and how it affects key parameters in the study of black holes are investigated as well.} To investigate the properties of the black holes both regular thermodynamics and thermodynamic geometry approaches are considered. Then one can observe that aiming to realize the physics of the black holes, many complicated phenomena can be analyzed dramatically easier by considering the latter approach.

In this contribution, we investigate hierarchical nature of large-scale structure clustering through the oscillatory nature of the solutions of the Schrödinger-like Friedmann equation in a modified gravitational background described by the $f(R)$ gravity theory. We find the cosmological solutions to the Schrödinger equation for different ranges of $n$ of the $R^{n}$ toy model for both radiation and matter-dominated epochs of the expansion history for open, flat, and closed spacetimes. Our results show that, for certain choices of the model parameters and initial conditions, the formation and distribution of cosmic structures might indeed be hierarchical, leading to a natural explanation for the breakdown of the cosmological principle on small scales.

We investigate classes of shear-free cosmological dust models with irrotational fluid flows within the framework of $f(T)$ gravity. In particular, we use the $1 + 3$ covariant formalism and present the covariant linearised evolution and constraint equations describing such models. We then derive the integrability conditions describing a consistent evolution of the linearised field equations of these quasi-Newtonian universes in the $f(T)$ gravitational theory. Finally, we derive the evolution equations for the density and velocity perturbations of the quasi-Newtonian universe. We explore the behaviour of the matter density contrast for two models - $f(T)= μT_{0}(T/T_{0})^{n}$ and the more generalised case, where $f(T)= T+ μT_{0} (T/T_{0})^{n}$, with and without the application of the quasi-static approximation. Our numerical solutions show that these $f(T)$ theories can be suitable alternatives to study the background dynamics, whereas the growth of energy density fluctuations change dramatically from the expected $Λ$CDM behaviour even for small deviations away from the general relativistic limits of the underlying $f(T)$ theory. Moreover, applying the so-called quasi-static approximation yields exact-solution results that are orders of magnitude different from the numerically integrated solutions of the full system, suggesting that these approximations are not applicable here.

A general form of codebook design for code-domain non-orthogonal multiple access (CD-NOMA) can be considered equivalent to an autoencoder (AE)-based constellation design for multi-user multidimensional modulation (MU-MDM). Due to a constrained design space for optimal constellation, e.g., fixed resource map** and equal power allocation to all codebooks, however, existing AE architectures produce constellations with suboptimal bit-error-rate (BER) performance. Accordingly, we propose a new architecture for MU-MDM AE and underlying training methodology for joint optimization of resource map** and a constellation design with bit-to-symbol map**, aiming at approaching the BER performance of a single-user MDM (SU-MDM) AE model with the same spectral efficiency. The core design of the proposed AE architecture is dense resource map** combined with the novel power allocation layer that normalizes the sum of user codebook power across the entire resources. This globalizes the domain of the constellation design by enabling flexible resource map** and power allocation. Furthermore, it allows the AE-based training to approach a global optimal MU-MDM constellations for CD-NOMA. Extensive BER simulation results demonstrate that the proposed design outperforms the existing CD-NOMA designs while approaching the single-user BER performance achieved by the equivalent SU-MDM AE within 0.3 dB over the additive white Gaussian noise channel.

The performance of grant-free random access (GF-RA) is limited by the number of accessible random access resources (RRs) due to the absence of collision resolution. Compressive sensing (CS)-based RA schemes scale up the RRs at the expense of increased non-orthogonality among transmitted signals. This paper presents the design of multi-sequence spreading random access (MSRA) which employs multiple spreading sequences to spread the different symbols of a user as opposed to the conventional schemes in which a user employs the same spreading sequence for each symbol. We show that MSRA provides code diversity, enabling the multi-user detection (MUD) to be modeled into a well-conditioned multiple measurement vector (MMV) CS problem. The code diversity is quantified by the decrease in the average Babel mutual coherence among the spreading sequences. Moreover, we present a two-stage active user detection (AUD) scheme for both wideband and narrowband implementation. Our theoretical analysis shows that with MSRA activity misdetection falls exponentially while the size of GF-RA frame is increased. Finally, the simulation results show that about 82% increase in utilization of RRs, i.e., more active users, is supported by MSRA than the conventional schemes while achieving the RA failure rate lower bound set by random access collision.

In this paper, we study Rényi holographic dark energy model in the context of Chern Simons (CS) modified gravity theory. Different cosmological parameters such as energy density, deceleration parameter, equation of state, square of sound speed and cosmological plane are discussed using FRW metric. Two separate solutions of CS field equations arose. The Rényi HDE model showed the transition from deceleration to acceleration phase which is fully consistent with the observational data while in the second case it represented a decelerated phase of expansion only. In fact, EoS illustrates the era of dominance of the universe by certain components. Our results predicted that the universe is under the influence of dark energy as EoS showed accelerated expansion phase. On the other hand case two advocated the influence of $Λ$ CDM. In both cases, $ω<0,ω^{\prime}<0$ indicated that the Rényi HDE model is in the freezing region and cosmic expansion is more accelerating in the context of CS modified gravity. It is also observed that the value of $ν^2_s$ is positive $ \forall z\in \Re $ a sufficient condition for the stability of the system. Hence it is concluded that the Rényi HDE model is supported by the results of general relativity in the framework of CS modified gravity.

Our preliminary results suggest that unlike most dark energy models that discourage large-scale structure formation due to the rapid cosmological expansion (which gives little time for fluctuations to coalesce), the Chaplygin-gas model supports the formation of cosmic structures. This is manifested in the solutions of the perturbation equations which show the growth of density fluctuations over time.

We study the collision of two massive particles with non-zero intrinsic spin moving in the equatorial plane in the background of a Schwarzschild black hole surrounded by quintessential matter field (SBHQ). For the quintessential matter equation of state (EOS) parameter, we assume three different values. It is shown that for collisions outside the event horizon, but very close to it, the centre-of-mass energy ($E_{\rm CM}$) can grow without bound if exactly one of the colliding particles is what we call near-critical, i.e., if its constants of motion are fine tuned such that the time component of its four-momentum becomes very small at the horizon. In all other cases, $E_{\rm CM}$ only diverges behind the horizon if we respect the Møller limit on the spin of the particles. We also discuss radial turning points and constraints resulting from the requirement of subluminal motion of the spinning particles.

It had been shown in previous investigations that, in the general relativistic framework, the matter congruences of shear-free perfect fluid spacetimes should be either expansion-free or rotation-free. Our current investigation, however, indicates that a universe dominated by a Chaplygin gas can allow a simultaneous expansion and rotation of the fluid provided that certain non-trivial conditions, which we derive and describe below, are met. We also show that, in the appropriate limiting cases, our results reduce to the expected results of dust spacetimes which can only expand or rotate, but not both, at the same time.

We present novel neutral and uncharged solutions that describe the cluster of Einstein in the teleparallel equivalent of general relativity (TEGR). To this end, we use a tetrad field with non-diagonal spherical symmetry which gives the vanishing of the off-diagonal components for the gravitational field equations in the TEGR theory. The clusters are calculated by using an anisotropic energy-momentum tensor. We solve the field equations of TEGR theory, using two assumptions: the first one is by using an equation of state that relates density with tangential pressure while the second postulate is to assume a specific form of one of the two unknown functions that appear in the non-diagonal tetrad field. Among many things presented in this study, we investigate the static stability specification. We also study the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkoff equation of these solutions in addition to the conditions of energy. For the testing of these models, we use 359 low- and intermediate-redshift Supernovae Type 1A data obtained from thRede SDSS-II/SNLS2 Joint Light-curve Analysis (JLA). We develop a Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) simulation to find a best-fitting function within reasonable ranges for each \textit{f(R)}-gravity model, as well as for the Lambda Cold Dark Matter ($Λ$CDM) model. For simplicity, we assume a flat universe with a negligible radiation density distribution. Therefore, the only difference between the accepted $Λ$CDM model and the \textit{f(R)}-gravity models will be the dark energy term and the arbitrary free parameters. By doing a statistical analysis and using the $Λ$CDM model as our "true model", we can obtain an indication whether or not a certain \textit{f(R)}-gravity model shows promise and requires a more in-depth view in future studies. In our results, we found that the Starobinsky model obtained a larger likelihood function value than the $Λ$CDM model, while still obtaining the cosmological parameters to be $Ω_{m} = 0.268^{+0.027}_{-0.024}$ for the matter density distribution and $\bar{h} = 0.690^{+0.005}_{-0.005}$ for the Hubble uncertainty parameter. We also found a reduced Starobinsky model that are able to explain the data, as well as being statistically significant.

We present a detailed analysis of a rotating black hole surrounded by "quintessence". This solution represents a fluid with a constant equation of state, $w$, which can for example describe an effective warm dark matter fluid around a black hole. We clarify the conditions for the existence of such a solution and study its structure by analyzing the existence of horizons as well as the extremal case. We show that the deflection angle produced by the black hole depends on the parameters $(c,w)$ which need to obey the condition $cw<0$ because of the weak energy condition, where $c$ is an additional parameter describing the hair of the black hole. In this context, we found that for $w\simeq 0.1$ (consistent with warm dark matter) and $c<0$, the deviation angle is larger than that in the Kerr spacetime for direct and retrograde orbits. We also derive an exact solution in the case of $w=-1/3$.

We investigate warm inflationary scenario in which the accelerated expansion of the early Universe is driven by chameleon-like scalar fields. Due to the non-minimal coupling between the scalar field and the matter sector, the energy-momentum tensor of each fluid component is not conserved anymore, and the generalized balance equation is obtained. The new source term in the energy equation can be used to model warm inflation. On the other hand, if the coupling function varies slowly, the model reduces to the standard model used for the description of cold inflation. To test the validity of the warm chameleon inflation model, the results for warm inflationary scenarios are compared with the observational Planck2018 Cosmic Microwave Background data. In this regard, the perturbation parameters such as the amplitude of scalar perturbations, the scalar spectral index and the tensor-to-scalar ratio are derived at the horizon crossing in two approximations, corresponding to the weak and strong dissipative regimes. As a general result it turns out that the theoretical predictions of the chameleon warm inflationary scenario are consistent with the Planck 2018 observations.

The cosmological scalar perturbations of standard matter are investigated in the context of extended teleparallel $f(T)$ gravity theories using the $1+3$ covariant formalism. After a review of the background, gravitational field equations of $f(T)$ gravity and the introduction of the covariant perturbation variables, the usual scalar and harmonic decomposition have been performed, and the analysis of the growth of the density contrasts in the quasi-static approximation for two non-interacting fluids scenarios, namely torsion-dust and torsion-radiation mixtures is presented for the generic $f(T)$ gravity theory. Special applications to two classes of $f(T)$ gravity toy models, namely $f(T) = μT_0 (T/T_0)^n$ and $f(T) = T + μT_0 (-T/T_0)^n$, have then been made within the observationally viable regions of their respective parameter spaces, and the growth of the matter density contrast for both torsion-dust and torsion-radiation epochs of the Universe has been examined. The exact solutions of the dust perturbations, with growing amplitudes in cosmic time, are obtained for some limiting cases of n. Similarly, the long- and short-wavelength modes in the torsion-radiation case are treated, with the amplitudes either oscillating or monotonically growing with time. Overall, it is noted that $f(T)$ models contain a richer set of observationally viable structure growth scenarios that can be tested against up- and-coming observational data and can accommodate currently known features of the large-scale structure power spectrum in the general relativistic and $Λ$CDM limits.

Despite its success and popularity, machine learning is now recognized as vulnerable to evasion attacks, i.e., carefully crafted perturbations of test inputs designed to force prediction errors. In this paper we focus on evasion attacks against decision tree ensembles, which are among the most successful predictive models for dealing with non-perceptual problems. Even though they are powerful and interpretable, decision tree ensembles have received only limited attention by the security and machine learning communities so far, leading to a sub-optimal state of the art for adversarial learning techniques. We thus propose Treant, a novel decision tree learning algorithm that, on the basis of a formal threat model, minimizes an evasion-aware loss function at each step of the tree construction. Treant is based on two key technical ingredients: robust splitting and attack invariance, which jointly guarantee the soundness of the learning process. Experimental results on three publicly available datasets show that Treant is able to generate decision tree ensembles that are at the same time accurate and nearly insensitive to evasion attacks, outperforming state-of-the-art adversarial learning techniques.

This paper considers the state transition of the stochastic Morris-Lecar neuronal model driven by symmetric $α$-stable Lévy noise. The considered system is bistable: a stable fixed point (resting state) and a stable limit cycle (oscillating state), and there is an unstable limit cycle (borderline state) between them. Small disturbances may cause a transition between the two stable states, thus a deterministic quantity, namely the maximal likely trajectory, is used to analyze the transition phenomena in non-Gaussian stochastic environment. According to the numerical experiment, we find that smaller jumps of the Lévy motion and smaller noise intensity can promote such transition from the sustained oscillating state to the resting state. It also can be seen that larger jumps of the Lévy motion and higher noise intensity are conducive for the transition from the borderline state to the sustained oscillating state. As a comparison, Brownian motion is also taken into account. The results show that whether it is the oscillating state or the borderline state, the system disturbed by Brownian motion will be transferred to the resting state under the selected noise intensity.

This paper explores the possibility of treating the exotic Chaplygin-gas (CG) fluid model as some manifestation of an $f(T)$ gravitation. To this end, we use the different cosmological CG equations of state, compare them with the equation of state for the modified teleparallel gravity and reconstruct the corresponding Lagrangian densities. We then explicitly derive the equation of state parameter of the torsion fluid $w_T$ and study its evolution for vacuum-torsion, radiation-torsion, dust-torsion, stiff fluid torsion, and radiation-dust-torsion multi-fluid systems. The obtained Lagrangians have, in general, matter dependence due to the matter-torsion coupling appearing in the energy density and pressure terms of the modified teleparallel gravity theory. For the simplest CG models, however, it is possible to reconstruct $f(T)$ Lagrangians that depend explicitly on the torsion scalar $T$ only. The preliminary results show that, in addition to providing Chaplygin-gas-like solutions to the modified teleparallel gravitation, which naturally behave like dark matter and dark energy at early and late times respectively, the technique can be used to overcome some of the challenges attributed to the CG cosmological alternative.

In this paper, we explore the equivalence between two theories, namely f(R) and scalar-tensor theories of gravity. We use this equivalence to explore several f(R) toy models focusing on the inflation epoch of the early universe. The study is done based on the definition of the scalar field in terms of the first derivative of f(R) model. We have applied the slow-roll approximations during inflationary parameters consideration. The comparison of the numerically computed inflationary parameters with the observations is done. We have inspected that some of the f(R) models produce numerical values of $n_{s}$ that are in the same range as the suggested values from observations. But for the case of the tensor-to-scalar ratio $r$, we realized that some of the considered f(R) models suffer to produce a value which is in agreement with the observed values for different considered space parameter.

We study the homogeneous but anisotropic Bianchi type-V cosmological model with time-dependent gravitational and cosmological "constants". Exact solutions of the Einstein field equations (EFEs) are presented in terms of adjustable parameters of quantum field theory in a spatially curved and expanding background. It has been found that the general solution of the average scale factor R as a function of time involved the hypergeometric function. Two cosmological models are obtained from the general solution of the hypergeometric function and the Emden-Fowler equation. The analysis of the models shows that for a particular choice of parameters in our first model, the cosmological "constant" decreases whereas the Newtonian gravitational "constant" increases with time, and for another choice of parameters, the opposite behaviour is observed. The models become isotropic at late times for all parameter choices of the first model. In the second model of the general solution, both the cosmological and gravitational "constants" decrease while the model becomes more anisotropic over time. The exact dynamical and kinematical quantities have been calculated analytically for each model.
