A necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of a properly coloured $f$-factor in an edge-coloured graph
Abstract: The main result of this paper is an edge-coloured version of Tutte's $f$-factor theorem. We give a necessary and sufficient condition for an edge-coloured graph $G^c$ to have a properly coloured $f$-factor. We state and prove our result in terms of an auxiliary graph $G_f^c$ which has a 1-factor if and only if $G^c$ has a properly coloured $f$-factor; this is analogous to the "short proof" of the… ▽ More

Packing $T$-connectors in graphs needs more connectivity
Abstract: Strengthening the classical concept of Steiner trees, West and Wu [J. Combin. Theory Ser. B 102 (2012), 186--205] introduced the notion of a $T$-connector in a graph $G$ with a set $T$ of terminals. They conjectured that if the set $T$ is $3k$-edge-connected in $G$, then $G$ contains $k$ edge-disjoint $T$-connectors. We disprove this conjecture by constructing infinitely many counterexamples for… ▽ More

Induced subgraphs with large degrees at end-vertices for hamiltonicity of claw-free graphs
Abstract: A graph is called \emph{claw-free} if it contains no induced subgraph isomorphic to $K_{1,3}$. Matthews and Sumner proved that a 2-connected claw-free graph $G$ is hamiltonian if every vertex of it has degree at least $(|V(G)|-2)/3$. At the workshop C\&C (Novy Smokovec, 1993), Broersma conjectured the degree condition of this result can be restricted only to end-vertices of induced copies of $N$ (… ▽ More

Radio Labelings of Distance Graphs
Abstract: A radio $k$-labeling of a connected graph $G$ is an assignment $c$ of non negative integers to the vertices of $G$ such that $$|c(x) - c(y)| \geq k+1 - d(x,y),$$ for any two vertices $x$ and $y$, $x\ne y$, where $d(x,y)$ is the distance between $x$ and $y$ in $G$. In this paper, we study radio labelings of distance graphs, i.e., graphs with the set $\Z$ of integers as vertex set and in which two d… ▽ More
